Flight Line Uprising-Live at EAA AirVenture 2017-Podcast 649

Most of us experience Air Traffic Control sitting in an airline seat. We don’t think about the processes behind getting airplanes from point a to point b. President Trump and Congress are in the process of detaching Air Traffic Control from the FAA. We’ll talk about it in Flight Line Uprising-Live at EAA AirVenture 2017-Podcast 649.

General Aviation Is Big Business

Air shows like this one don’t just showcase war birds and experimental aircraft. Osh Kosh has become synonymous with the business of aviation. It all started with the innovation of home builders. Over the years smaller companies have come here to sell their services and products. These days hundreds of small companies and all the large corporations are here. OSH17 isn’t just an air show it is a convention of aviation enthusiasts and the business of aviation in all its forms. In Flight Line Uprising-Live at EAA AirVenture 2017-Podcast 649.

Not Taking The Easy Way Out

As a podcaster it would be easy for me to walk the flight line. Record the B-29 arrival. Get the thunder of the B-1B flyover. Of course we will get some of those things in podcasts from this show but on the first day, I decided to dig deeper. Forgo the flight line and spend some time at EAA Press Headquarters to cover the opening press conference for EAA President Jack Pelton. You’ll hear his press conference live in Flight Line Uprising-Live at EAA AirVenture 2017-Podcast 649.

Is This Really A Free Market Reform?

These days politics finds us even when we try to escape. In what some feel is a first attempt in a raft of similar ‘privatization’ efforts, President Trump is pushing congress to ‘reform’ the nation’s air traffic control system. Trump’s form of privatization isn’t something out of a free market text book though.

Remember The War Board?

Part of HR 2997, the 21st Century Aviation Innovation, Reform and Reauthorization (AIRR) Act is to appoint a board of members from industry, labor and government. The job of this board is to modernize the US ATC system. As the whipping goes on in Washington (or sausage making) congressmen may not be aware of the vehemence of opposition to this plan from General Aviation. Flight Line Uprising-Live at EAA AirVenture 2017-Podcast 649.

Pilots And Air Traffic Controllers

In Flight Line Uprising-Live at EAA AirVenture 2017-Podcast 649, EAA, Air Traffic Controllers and Pilots talk about the ATC. Is this the right formula for modernization of the US Air Traffic Control system? Is the US on the verge of losing its advantage in aviation? Will this new board take a dark view of General Aviation which has been a source of innovation and business development for decades?

Podcast 224 – Twila Brase – Ebola

Ebola. Now playing in the United States. Even though the President assured the nation two weeks ago that the government had procedures in place to make sure people infected with the ebola virus would be detected if they tried to fly here, we now have at least one confirmed case of the Ebola Virus in the US. As this story has the potential to take over US media, what is our government up to? Twila Brase, President and co-founder of the Citizens Council for Health Freedom , has some chilling information about what many State Governments are empowered to do in case of a pandemic. Why hasn’t the government flat-out barred people from countries with Ebola outbreaks from entering the United States? When the President doesn’t seem able to make sure his own security is functional, how can we expect him to be responsible for the security of the citizens of the United States, even though that’s one of his primary responsibilities. Why haven’t governors barred flights potentially carrying anyone from a ‘hot zone’ into the airports in their cities? The United States is thought of as a sophisticated, even complex society; Modern. Doesn’t a virus like Ebola understand we’re a sophisticated and complex society? Can the kind of panic we see in Sierra Leone, and Liberia happen in the United States? As one of the country’s authorities on the Affordable Care Act, Twila also talks about a new storyline these days that claims Obamacare is working. With the ACA part of debates in the Senate race in Minnesota and across the country, as well as gubernatorial races, what’s the latest status? Finally, it’s fair to say that authorities in Texas, Atlanta and Washington may have the expertise and tools to contain this Ebola infection, and there’s no need for unnecessary alarm. However, studies show we can manage one, or even two crises, but a third causes a cascade of problems that can lead to catastrophe. Considering Benghazi, the Border, ISIS, the Secret Service and now Ebola in Dallas, being slightly concerned about this administration’s demonstrated incompetence might be warranted. Ebola! Midweek updates! Ebola is sweeping Africa. With modern Air Travel could the disease ‘spread like a forest fire’ in the United States? What is a mosquito killer? Does it carry a virus? People have asked for comments on the banking system and Dodd Frank. According to Richard Rahn, the one to watch is the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. If they get their way all of your financial data may soon be shared with all nations of the world. Last week a major Coronal Mass Ejection nearly hit the earth. This week some analysts are warning the electro magnetic pulse from such an explosion on the sun, or a nuclear device detonated over the continental United States would do untold damage to the country’s electrical infrastructure. The feminists are after Comic-Con saying ogling of scantily clad women representing adventure and science fiction characters has to stop! And Michele Bachmann is in the headlines again, or not.
