Real Machinery Hill-Pioneer Power Show-Bob Davis Podcast 749

In my line of work every now and then you come across something amazing. I spent a weekend at the Pioneer Power Show and had a blast. Check it out in Real Machinery Hill-Pioneer Power Show-Bob Davis Podcast 749.

Living History

If you want to see living history the Pioneer Power Show is the place.

Every development in farming technology is represented here.

Back Breaking Work Brute Strength

Most noteworthy more than a century ago brute strength powered the farm. Men and animals cleared land, planted crops and harvested. Mechanization of the farm was a revolution for farmers and consumers.

Steam Power Revolution

Portable Steam power represented a revolution in agriculture starting in the 1870’s. As a result of steam power farmers could do more.

Today’s Tech Is Invisible

These days we tend to ignore the impact of technology because we can’t see it working. Steam was a huge source of motive power in America a hundred years ago. Gas and diesel eventually replaced steam and those developments are at the show but you can’t miss the huge, belching steam engines.

Hear the steam engines. Meet the people who work on them. Learn how they were built and how they worked in Real Machinery Hill-Pioneer Power Show-Bob Davis Podcast 749.

Anger Emotion And Loss

Finally a personal note. I find emotions like anger and the feeling of loss at the root of what is going on in this country today. Everyday it gets harder and harder to shout into the noise. Furthermore advancing the story or thinking on almost any issue is just about impossible.

There’s Still An America with Passion and Character

In conclusion I have learned finding and talking to people doing something they love and learning while they do it is a powerful reminder that whatever is wrong won’t be wrong forever. Especially relevant is the character of people doing something they love, teaching others about it, and having fun while they do it.

Thanks to everyone at the Le Sueur, Minnesota Pioneer Power Show for a great weekend.

(Editor’s Note: In this podcast I suggest the first steam engine was made in 1867, and I am referring specifically to portable steam power for farming and other uses. Obviously the steam engine was invented many decades before 1867.)

July Fourth Recovery Weekend-Behind Headlines-Podcast 736

Is this the longest holiday weekend in history? With the fourth in the middle of the week, everyone is off. Time to update listeners and subscribers to cool stories behind the headlines in July Fourth Recovery Weekend-Behind Headlines-Podcast 736.

Trump’s Trade Protection Podcast On The Way

These days it gets harder everyday to keep up with the antics of the Trump Administration. On Friday the president announced additional tariffs on Chinese goods. This calls for a full podcast on trade protection, which is in the works. Meanwhile there are just too many crazy stories out there to ignore.

The Statue of Liberty Is In Las Vegas, right?

Everyone saw video of a naturalized US Citizen trying to climb the statue of liberty over the weekend. Did you hear that the United States Post Office used the statue of liberty in Las Vegas for their new liberty stamp? Listen for details in July Fourth Recovery Weekend-Behind Headlines-Podcast 736.

Why I Don’t Fly And Take The Back Roads

This was a week in which many Americans flew home for a few days for the holiday. If you fly you know it seems like there are more and more seats in the planes. It’s especially relevant that this is one of the top complaints of passengers.

The FAA says they can’t do anything about the number of seats on planes, until it becomes a safety issue. Furthermore, this is why I use Mobile Podcast Command for travel on the back roads because why bother with the stress of air travel unless you have to.

Tiki Torches and Coffee

We’re live from the deck on this perfect July Fourth Weekend podcast. Tiki Torches and coffee. In July Fourth Recovery Weekend-Behind Headlines-Podcast 736 a free wheeling podcast that touches on news behind the headlines as well as anything and everything that comes to mind.

These Days We Need More Sleep

It’s most noteworthy that I am nocturnal, so it doesn’t make any difference to me how much sleep I’m supposed to get.

Apparently modern life is so stressful we’re now being told we need more than eight hours of sleep. My recommendation? Get some sun. You’ll feel better.

Maybe It’s Morgellon’s

I don’t sleep because I lay in bed at night and watch You Tube. You can get lost in the seedy underbelly of America. Furthermore if you get the chance you might be surprised to find tons of videos on You Tube about something called ‘Morgellon’s Disease’. One more thing to worry about!

In conclusion, we still have quite a lot of holiday left to enjoy. This podcast will give you some fun topics to bring up during dinners at the lake and during the pontoon boat ride.

Road To Character-Principle Free Politics In America-Podcast 705

These days the scolds are telling us how to live. What to do. Put down the hand held device. Give up screen time. So called conservatives especially stake out the moral high ground. Problem is there don’t seem to be any principles when it comes to politics. We’ll talk about it in Road To Character-Principle Free Politics In America-Podcast 705.

Sacrifice For The Greater Good

If we can just sacrifice for the greater good. Devote our lives to something bigger than ourselves. Become more passionate and purposeful about that purpose. Right?

The Greatest Generation

What’s more, the World War 2 generation can always be trotted out as an example of virtue. Just think how much better the world would be if those distracted millennials and super liberal generate Z people would emulate the “Greatest Generation”.

It’s The Millennials Right?

Truth is the world is changing fast. We’re at the dawn of a fast moving wall of change. Moreover demanding people act a certain way may not be the right idea. In Road To Character-Principle Free Politics In America-Podcast 705.

Principle Free Politics

Welcome to the seedy underbelly of politics. Moralists on both sides tell everyone else how to act while they ignore basic principles. Yeah sure, democrats have been doing this for years. Now republicans are becoming champions at principle free politics. Looks to me like one big mob.

Character Is Someone Else’s Problem

Get the guns and deal with due process later. A 25 cent per gallon gas tax increase. Trade protection. Spend and spend. Pile on national debt. President for life sounds like a good idea. What to do when a republican president promotes ideas directly opposed to republican ideals? Defend him. Go figure.

Principles Or Power?

In conclusion, given the fast pace of change in the world what troubles me isn’t character, it’s the lack of principle in the political party that controls all three branches of government.

In the near future the Technology Revolution will challenge us all. If all anyone wants to do is tear the old world down we’re in for a rough ride.

As far as I’m concerned there’s only one principle that matters these days. Individual Freedom.

Do republicans care about liberty anymore? Or do they just want power.
