Black Seed Oil-Double Dip Yoga Challenge-Mind Over Matter-Mandela Effect-Podcast 725

It’s over one hundred degrees on Memorial Day weekend in Minnesota. These days, when it’s this hot what does a yogi do? We’ll talk about it in Black Seed Oil-Double Dip Yoga Challenge-Mind Over Matter-Mandela Effect-Podcast 725.

Life Lessons On The Yoga Mat

Especially relevant is the idea of learning life lessons on the yoga mat. Every now and then at the studio where I practice we have something called the Yoga Challenge. Students can do 10, 20 or 30 lessons in a month. Type A’s love a challenge. Even better, why not do thirty classes in less than thirty days? I share my experiences as a student in these podcasts.

Double Dip Challenge

To meet the challenge we have to ‘double dip’, or even ‘Triple Dip’. That means more than once class a day, usually back to back.  Some people think those of us who do this are crazy. However I have learned some important lessons pushing myself to ‘win’ the challenge.

Consciousness or Brain Power?

Most noteworthy is an increase in consciousness. If you feel giddy after one power yoga, hot yoga or yoga sculpt class, imagine how you will feel after two? We get into it in Black Seed Oil-Double Dip Yoga Challenge-Mind Over Matter-Mandela Effect-Podcast 725.

Mind Over Matter

Moreover after a few days of double dipping it’s really a challenge to keep going. I never understood the often heard phrase “mind over matter“. Thought it was some kind of voodoo. But something happened this week during my double dips that taught me once and for all what ‘mind over matter’ really means. What’s more, it’s a lesson that carries into life off the mat as well.

The Wonders Of Black Seed Oil

This month I have also added Black Seed Oil to my regimen. I discovered Black Seed Oil on You Tube. I’m telling all my friends about this stuff and they aren’t even paying me!

Not The Mandela Effect!

Finally, the overall effect of all this yoga is an elevated consciousness. I’ve been here before. You don’t sleep very much. Hearing and sense of smell is elevated. Ringing in the ears. You feel great all the time. Sometimes though, thoughts appear in your head that make you question reality. (Thankfully the challenge will be over soon and I will come back down to earth!) I’ll tell you about something called the Mandela Effect in Black Seed Oil-Double Dip Yoga Challenge-Mind Over Matter-Mandela Effect-Podcast 725.

Podcast 544

Podcast 544-Self Definition. How would you describe yourself to someone you did not know? Are you defined by how you look, what kind of job you have, what kind of car you drive? Are you defined by material possessions? Do you define yourself according to the political spectrum as being of ‘the right’ or ‘the left’. A question that started out in Yoga class has been resonating with me all weekend. Time for Podcast 544-Self Definition. In a daily Yoga practice the question of how one defines themselves has to do with attaching yourself to how you do certain poses, how you look, how strong you are in comparison to others. Reaching a deeper practice requires the student to let go of those kinds of hard and fast definitions of themselves. In this podcast I expand on this idea to fit into society in general. Asking how we define ourselves certainly isn’t an original thought of mine, it came from my fantastic Yoga Teacher, Angela T. But expanding it to society as a whole is an interesting exercise. We’re living through a period of change, with new tools and new ways of doing things people could only imagine just twenty years ago, and thirty years ago the things we think of as everyday weren’t on anyone’s mind. All kinds of changes are taking place due to these new tools, yet many of us remain in the old world, deeply attached to outmoded perceptions and ideas about who we are. Historians like to name ‘eras’ well after they have passed. For example, historians refer to the United States just before the Civil War ‘antebellum’. Historians refer to the period between World War I and World War II as the ‘interwar’ period. People living in those times did not think of them as ‘antebellum’ or ‘interwar’, just their time. How we define ourselves has a big impact on whether we are resistant to change, which we all are to some degree or another. Big changes are underway now, and will gather momentum in the near future. Given the advances we see almost everyday, more change is on the agenda going forward. Hanging on too tightly prevents us from seeing solutions, using ideas, and being happy. How do you define yourself? In this podcast I share how I have defined myself in the past, how it effected me, and how I think about these things today. Sponsored by Karow Contracting.

Podcast 451

New Years Podcast 2015 and Heartfelt Thanks. Big thank you’s to listeners, clients and people who have helped me develop the Bob Davis Podcasts along the way. As I review all the podcasts for 2015 I am a little surprised at the breadth and depth of podcasting content. It’s also interesting to note the metamorphosis I’ve gone through, starting with the News Cleanse in the summer of 2014, through to content that reflects more of what is going on in my mind just beneath the surface. The need to go deeper, both personally and on the issues, rather than to chronicle the daily outrage machine has become a hallmark of these podcasts. Add to that the new mobility enabled with Mobile Podcast Command and you have the wrinkles added to these podcasts in 2015. Its hard to believe we started 2015 back in January with Podcast 284 talking about the ‘Polar Vortex’ and end 2015 with podcast 451, which focuses on the lessons of small business, content creation and entrepreneurship. First to thank the clients of The Bob Davis Podcasts, who have become more than clients, but advisors and mentors. Then to family and friends who have provided support in so many ways including my son – who recently appeared on the podcasts with his own content creation effort – and the General Manager of the Podcasts; My Mom. Finally to the subscribers, listeners and contributors to the Bob Davis Podcasts. As I review the podcasts I hope my goal of going deeper on issues with interviews, ‘study pieces’, coverage of the 2016 election cycle that takes you inside events, New Thinking, Walk and Talk Podcasts and talk about the issues that matter to you, the audio book and new radio show, pays off on the promise of what podcasting can be. Thanks each and every one of you for supporting this effort in 2015. Here’s to us doing great things in 2016. Sponsored by X Government Trucks and Ryan Plumbing and Heating of Saint Paul.
