Mount Rainier to Sioux Falls in 4 Days

Firstly I don’t like to travel this fast but I just rolled from Mount Rainier to Sioux Falls in 4days. Learn more in Mount-Rainier-Sioux-Falls-4Days-Bob Davis Podcast 1002.

Amazing

Secondly it was an amazing trip.

Game Changer In Sioux Falls

Most importantly I had a game changing business meeting in South Dakota that solved my connectivity problems in one fell swoop. In addition I’ll be telling you more about this fix in future podcasts.

Oregon Coast To Washington State

But it was a great trip up the Oregon Coast, to Washington’s Mount Rainier then across the Yakima Valley.

Idaho to Montana

Even more Idaho and Montana take the cake.

Grasslands

And the grasslands of North Dakota!

South Dakota In 100 Degree Heat

Finally the trip across South Dakota in one hundred degree heat was one for the books.

One Day to Minnesota and Wisconsin

Further still a quick one day trip across Minnesota to Wisconsin for Father’s Day 2021.

Fading Restrictions and Burgeoning Optimism Across America

Above all a trip across the northern tier of the United States at a time when Covid restrictions are beginning to face for the time being, and people seem more optimistic.

Record Visitors At The Parks

Certainly the national parks have record visitors and are packed while the National Forests and Bureau of Land Management campgrounds are deserted.

Lassen Mount Shasta and More

Moreover I was able to enjoy Lassen National Park and Mount Shasta before quite an adventure in the Rogue River Siskiyou National Forest in Oregon.

Logging roads, coast line, rain forests, arid valleys and more.

Back Roads Forever

To clarify I am struck by how much running across the country this way on back roads is similar to binge watching a series on HBO or Netflix at the height of the pandemic last year.

Travel Velocity

Certainly I wonder if I am one of the few nomads moving across the country at various levels of travel velocity, covering so much ground all on the back roads.

How Far and How Fast

To sum up I wonder how the rest of the my nomad friends listening and reading this blog travel. How far and how fast.

Running Fast Can Be Fun

In short I’ll say it again. I don’t like to travel this fast. It’s exhausting. But it can be fun as well.

In the same vein I hope listeners and subscribers enjoy some of the stories and experiences from this mega trip.

Plans Change

In addition I’ve changed my plans a bit, I think, for the rest of the summer.

Live From The Driveway

Secondly I am podcasting live from my mom’s driveway in Virginia for the time being. Learn why by listening here.

Dark Time

Most importantly we’re living through a dark time. I don’t think anyone disagrees with that statement.

Brittle and Emotional

In addition the way we talk to each other is often brittle and emotional.

Collaboration and Rationality

On the other hand we’ll need to communicate in a more collaborative and rational style in the future.

Social Media Sucks

Certainly social media emphasizes stark differences.

Remember When Optimism Drove Us?

On the other hand after the Spanish Flu, optimism and enthusiasm drove the country.

Positive About The Future

Finally I’ve had a lot of support from friends and business contacts recently. As a result I feel more positive about the future.

Tech Stepped Up

Moreover technology really helped us during the Corona Pandemic.

How Has Work Evolved

In conclusion we need to ask how, where and when our work has evolved positively.

Networking and Working For A Nomad

For example remote work for my tribe of nomads. In addition small towns are seeing growth as people move from large population centers. Why? Because they can.

Tired Of Negativity

To sum up I am tired of down in the mouth, nasty, brittle and angry.

No More Fighting Over The Past

In short fighting over the past does nothing for me.

All About The Future

It’s all about the future now. I think we need new ways of communicating and thinking to create a future that works.

In contrast I don’t think the old ways of thinking and communicating serve anyone anymore.

Experience Counts

Second who better to talk about than two experienced and exceptional financial and legal guys?

Nathan Nelson

Nathan Nelson is one of the founders and managing partner of Virtus Law. Especially relevant is Nelson’s strategic focus and business law experience. He’s helped many businesses get through crises.

Todd Rooker

In addition Todd Rooker is a strategic financial planner and coach. Certainly Todd has experienced financial hardship in his own life. He has also helped many people survive and thrive through financial panics and crises going back to the farm crisis in the 1980’s.

Real Talk About What To Do And How To Do It

Above all I believe what we all need right now is some plain talk about what to do, and how to do it. As much as is possible my guests in Surviving-Thriving-In-Financial-Armageddon-Bob Davis Podcast 917 will do that.

Fear Is Not An Option

Due to the severity of what has already happened and what may happen all of us can sometimes freeze. We don’t know what the best thing to do is. Seems like in these situations fear truly is our worst enemy.

Strategy Determines Whether You Survive

Finally we need a strategy. How do we handle the banks? What about these Small Business Association loans? Then there’s credit and whatever cash we have on hand. Moreover is it going to be a recession, or God forbid a depression. To learn more about each, listen to this recent Bob Davis Podcast.

How To Kill The Wolf Without The BS

Therefore it is fair to say whether the wolf is in the front yard, at the door or has broken into the house, there’s always something we can do. We just need to know what to do, without all the BS.

Opportunity To Thrive

Furthermore both Nathan and Todd strongly believe goal number one is not only to survive but to use this moment as an opportunity to emerge stronger and more prosperous than ever.

Not All Gloom and Doom

In conclusion it’s worth mentioning that there is plenty of opportunity out there, as we speak. All is not gloom and doom if we plan and execute effectively.

This Is The Podcast

Hence, if there’s one podcast about what to do in the current and coming financial Armageddon, this is the one that will help you the most.

(Editor’s Note: Full disclosure; Virtus Law and Nathan Nelson are advertisers on the Bob Davis Podcasts. However, this interview was not solicited by Nathan or Todd, and it is not a paid advertisement. These are the guys I would want on my side in an emergency. I thought if that was true, why not have them on a podcast so you can benefit from their knowledge as well.)
