World-Gone-Crazy-Bob Davis Podcast 1044

A World Gone Crazy

Firstly extraordinary circumstances cause me to break down key issues in a World Gone Crazy. Find out what’s up with me out here in the desert in World-Gone-Crazy-Bob Davis Podcast 1044.

Financial Strain

Secondly someone needs to explain some facts as our financial system faces significant financial strain.

Most importantly this is as close as I’ll ever be to discussing politics.

Causes

However I am limiting myself to talking about what’s causing this financial strain.

No Picnic

Certainly what Americans are experiencing right now is no picnic.

Nomads are no exception.

Options

But we do have some options folks back home may not have.

Mobile

Importantly we’re mobile.

Free Camping

Even more we camp for free.

Fuel Prices Slowing My Roll

On the other hand the high cost of fuel has certainly slowed my roll.

And everyone else out here in the land of the nomad.

Stress Anyone?

Meanwhile a majority of Americans say they are under a great deal of stress right now.

A Mix Of Bad News

To clarify we’ve had a pandemic. Inflation has already made food, fuel and rent more expensive. And throw the Ukraine situation into the mix.

That’s a lot of stress.

But as a the result of hitting the road stress is a little easier for me to manage right now.

What’s Next?

Most importantly what happens next?

Financial Stress

Firstly our financial system is under a lot of stress

Stagflation

Stagflation is a concern.

Inflation

Inflation is ravaging all of us.

Deflation

On the other hand the cure for high prices may eventually be high prices.

No To Higher Prices

Even more I don’t think we can accept prices this high and eventually we will reject them.

Recession Ahead

That is to say eventually high prices effect demand to the point where an economic recession develops.

Certainly some economists think we’re nearing that point.

Weird Tension In The World

Above all with the situation in the Ukraine and Eastern Europe getting more tense by the day I feel like we have to take certain steps to protect ourselves. Details in World-Gone-Crazy-Bob Davis Podcast 1044.

Not Easy

Finally these aren’t easy times.

Take A Break

So give yourself a break every now and then.

To sum up I don’t like talking about these things.

Living Life Through My Podcasts

But I live as much as my life as possible through these podcasts.

And this is what I am living through right now.

Preppers Gone Wild

My inbox has been full of prepping info ever since I did the podcast about Ebola. These days if you think your phone isn’t listening to you, think again. Learn more in Doomsday-Prep-Overkill-Commonsense-Bob Davis Podcast 852.

Nuclear War

First of all is it necessary to prep for nuclear war? Hydrogen bombs are exponentially more powerful than the Hiroshima bomb.

Moreover Minneapolis and Saint Paul would be dust if we got nuked. In that case, what’s the prep for?

Ordering Your Supplies From Glenn Beck

Do I really need to spend six hundred dollars for a year’s supply of dried beans in case of a nuclear war?

If Jesus Is Coming You Don’t Need Supplies

Some people want to be ready for the day when our Lord Jesus returns. I thought Jesus will take the believers before the trouble starts. If you’re down with the Man, save your money on prepping. You’re out of here.

Collapse Of All Government May Be Just What The Doctor Ordered

What about Earthquakes? Hurricanes? Even more, a collapse of all government?

Freeze Dried Lasagna And Family Radios

Do I need dried food and hand charging radios for that? What if Yellowstone finally blows? Well, THAT one you might want to think about.

What To Prepare For…Really

People who live in the Upper Midwest should be prepared for two things. A power failure in the dead of winter and a really bad tornado. The only real concern is whether we can make it to the lake, and if we want to spend more time with the family.

What If People Pull Together In A Disaster?

Finally End Of The Worlders seem to think those who live in the exurbs will be beset by inner city hoards. But the Preppers all predict the people they don’t like won’t make it. Especially the liberals. But what if people work together in a disaster?

Prep Overkill

In conclusion there are things we should have a plan for. Time for an easy conversation about some of the things we should not worry about, on a beautiful summer night. Common sense says worrying about the rest of it is just overkill.

Podcast 368

Asteroid. As a huge asteroid comes within striking distance of the Earth – relatively speaking – one wonders whether the now controversial Jade Helm exercise in the American West, and the mood of people in the last few weeks is connected somehow. While the object in question (1999 FN53) will come only within about four million miles of earth it’s the one they don’t see that will hit us. Begging the question, if they knew an object that was over a mile wide and could do catastrophic damage to the planet, would they tell us? This is a great story that provokes all kinds of questions. So much of our lives these days depends on supposedly making precise predictions about the future that are expected to be correct, even about outlier events. Yet life is rarely predictable and very messy. A person’s life can be changed in a blink of an eye, as can the life of a nation. This podcast shares one friend’s story of instant change. Probably everyone has a story about something that happened, and after that, their lives were different. There’s plenty of books, TV shows and movies about these kinds of situations, from The Walking Dead to Jericho and of course the Mad Max movies. What happened? Sometimes the show’s story line tells us and sometimes they don’t. Not knowing is half the fun, and maybe that’s what keeps us watching. Oddly enough, at the same time a new survey from Pew says that fewer and fewer Americans identify with the Christian Faith, provoking an honest personal observation about religion, religious people and the movie ‘Left Behind’, with Nicholas Cage. What role does religion play in our lives? After 9/11, people were more likely to go to church and identify with a faith. As the old saying goes, there’s no atheists in Fox Holes. Or are there? One of the topics of the Bob Davis Podcasts is often technology, disruption because of technology, and the impact it has on the way we work. This has been a topic of discussion on these podcasts since almost the start. Suddenly a lot is being written about autonomous machines, robotics, 3D printing, and automation in industries that have never been automated before. Now, we’re starting to see the first impact of truly autonomous machines in retail, fast food and semi skilled labor and a lot is being written about the impact. Sometimes the writer tries to persuade the reader that it must be stopped, other times writers appear to be trying to predict a jobless future because of these machines. What will happen and how do we get ready for it. A lot of things to think about in this unusual, candid and off beat midweek update. Sponsored by Ryan Plumbing and Heating of Saint Paul
