General Motors Plant Closings Ruin Trump’s Day-Bob Davis Podcast 783

General Motors announced deep job cuts and plant closings recently. President Trump got angry. Find out what the real story is in General Motors Plant Closings Ruin Trump’s Day-Bob Davis Podcast 783.

Thousands Laid Off On Cyber Monday

Thousands laid off. Plants closed. People in Michigan and Ohio stunned. Now Trump is threatening the pull US Subsidies for Car Companies. See how it played out on Cable News here.

GM Says Cars Aren’t Selling

Most workers in Michigan and Ohio wanted to know why. GM says the Chevy Volt, Cruze, Impala, Buick LaCrosse and the Cadillac XTS aren’t selling.

Everyone Is Mad

Workers, unions and consumers are mad. So is the president. Most noteworthy are the taxpayers on the hook for billions in borrowed money to bail out the auto companies.

Can The Mighty Trump Fix It?

Moreover it’s the government’s job to create jobs and make sure we make what we consume in the US. Right? That was Trump’s campaign message to voters in Ohio, Michigan in Wisconsin. But, Trump represents a new “Republican Conservatism“, right? Learn more in General Motors Plant Closings Ruin Trump’s Day-Bob Davis Podcast 783.

A New Day For Republicans

It’s a new day. These days Wisconsin spends four billion dollars to create thirty thousand jobs. Trump can force Carrier to keep a plant in Indiana open.

The same plant that just announced 200 job cuts.

Obama’s Fault?

“It’s Obama’s Fault” say social media conservatives. Which president and which party urged bipartisan action to bail out the automakers? The answer is most noteworthy. To find out, download General Motors Plant Closings Ruin Trump’s Day-Bob Davis Podcast 783.

Bail Outs and Picking Winners

Finally, do conservatives believe the government should use tax dollars to bailout companies that are failing? What about higher taxes on companies as well as trading partners overseas? Furthermore do republicans believe the government should borrow money to subsidize plants for Elon Musk? Or stadia and other local building projects in cities?

In conclusion we can only wonder where all this leads. Isn’t it more like Italy in the 1920’s than the liberty and freedom we associate with the United States? That is a question especially for republicans?

Goodbye To 2017-Hello 2018-Happy New Year-Podcast 690

As the year closes time for a look back at 2017. Some of the experiences, helpers, clients and some big thank you’s. Any look back also includes a look ahead. In Goodbye To 2017-Hello 2018-Happy New Year-Podcast 690.

Fast Changing World

The theme of 2017 for almost everyone seems to be fear and anxiety in a fast changing world. Boy is it changing fast. Biggest change in 2017? Our politics. Still, there was a lot of great travel and fun this year.

These days things change so fast. One story that is still with us? The so called Russian Hack and the Russian Collusion story. The media is still trying to predict the future, getting stories wrong or advocating for a point of view. It’s a theme of the podcasts this year and we’ll talk about it in Goodbye To 2017-Hello 2018-Happy New Year-Podcast 690.

The Truth Is On The Back Roads

With all the talk about political civil war and surreal protests this year, travel on the backroads of this country convinces me the real America is significantly different from the America we hear about in the media in general. There were some great trips this year. Sturgis, the Air Show, a crumbling home town and more. Too bad Burning Man didn’t happen for the Bob Davis Podcasts in 2017. Maybe next year. In Goodbye To 2017-Hello 2018-Happy New Year-Podcast 690.

We Don’t Need No Stinking Principles

Political fighting was all the rage this year. Especially relevant is the fact that most of the partisan bickering was free of principles. This was a year in which both mainline political parties seemed to have forgotten what they stand for. Good thing I can talk about small business and the role of the podcaster helping people in business.

Opening Up

This was also a year in which I started a podcast specific to Yoga, which has really enhanced my life in these crazy times. I’ve experienced some big personal losses this year. Between yoga and travel podcasts, it became clear to me there is a whole world out there which doesn’t turn on political develops in Washington. Thank God. In Goodbye To 2017-Hello 2018-Happy New Year-Podcast 690.

Thanks To Everyone

Whether its analysis, business, yoga, travel, storm chasing and the eclipse it’s been a big year for me. There have also been a number of great local stories to cover as well. Thanks to the clients, contributors, subscribers and listeners who make podcasting a great medium and help The Bob Davis Podcasts everyday.

Happy New Year!

Draining The Swamp Harder Than Originally Thought-Podcast 617

When You’re Up To Your Ass In Alligators It’s Hard To Remember Your Original Objective Was To Drain The Swamp. The president has turned Freedom Caucus supporters into enemies. Republicans learn governing without principle is tough. In Draining The Swamp Harder Than Originally Thought-Podcast 617.

Republican Division Caused By The Left?

If you want to know the truth, so the saying goes, don’t have an opinion. Some republicans believe their division is caused by the political left.  What’s dividing republicans is a lack of adherence to principle.

Drinking From A Poisoned Well

One of the lines from the “Rime Of The Ancient Mariner” is, “Water Water, everywhere, nor any drop to drink”. The republican ship sits in a becalmed salt water sea, unable to drink, dying of thirst. Surrounded by a sea of information. Dying from a lack of wisdom. Talk about it in Draining The Swamp Harder Than Originally Thought-Podcast 617.

Details Details

North Korea? Budgets? Policy? Subsides? Federal Agencies and what they do? Foreign Relations? Whatever. Drain the swamp and call me when it’s over.

Goals and Principles

What is the goal of the modern republican party? Populism? I’ll tell you why the media’s term for republicans these says is more poison. What are the principles of the GOP these days? Why did you vote? Was there a reason behind why you got involved in politics in the first place?

House Divided

A political party that follows too many threads and calls them ‘principles’ is a party that can easily be divided. Churchill saved the west with one idea in mind. Never Give Up.

Controlling Means of Production

It seems like America is living in a socialist construct. Republicans and Democrats have consistently voted for community control through direct ownership or regulation of the means of production. Yes, Republicans and Democrats have built and empowered the surveillance state, conducted the wars, added regulations, let out the contracts.

Dependency

These days, dependence on the state isn’t just for the urban poor. Corporations and individuals are widely dependent on the government for all kinds of payments, contracts, subsidies and opportunities.

Freedom Isn’t Free

Freedom is a radical idea. We have less and less of it these days. If you want a party that promotes freedom more is required of you than repeating slogans and wearing hats. Freedom asks more than supporting a personality. Join me in Draining The Swamp Harder Than Originally Thought-Podcast 617.
