Nashville Broadway Saturday Night

What’s Nashville’s Broadway District like on a Saturday night? It’s something you have to hear to believe. I’ll take you there in Nashville-Broadway-Saturday-Night-Bob Davis Podcast 965.

Friends Out On Broadway

First of all every time I come to Tennessee I visit my friend John Holland and we do a podcast.

A Nomad Checks In On Music City

Second when John moved to Nashville and I went nomad, I knew I’d be visiting Music City at some point.

Riding And Podcasting

But rather than sit around and talk, we thought we’d take a ride through one of the top tourist attractions in Nashville and do a podcast.

So that’s the backdrop for Nashville-Broadway-Saturday-Night-Bob Davis Podcast 965.

Covid Concerns In Nashville

Above all there sure doesn’t seem to be much concern about Covid here! Thousands of people in the streets. Many of them wearing masks. Many not.

Certainly Broadway is a tourist attraction. However it is a lot of fun just to see so many people having so much fun.

Having Fun On Broadway

Party buses. Pedal Pubs. Bar band after bar band “turning it up to eleven” to compete with each other and the street musicians.

Stories Too

More importantly there’s a lot of stories in this podcast.

New City New Job

Moving to a new city for a new job. All the usual stories about Nashville’s real “down home” nice.

Further plenty to talk about when it comes to Tennessee’s lack of a state income tax and business friendly environment. The state is growing, of course. But Nashville is a major city these days.

Big Changes In Nashville

A big change from what it was like when I used to come through here on Family road trips.

Trump Country?

Of course everyone I know wants to know what it’s like in “Trump Country”.

Not So Fast

On the other hand Nashville is a more cosmopolitan place than it used to be. Meanwhile Tennessee itself of course votes ‘red’.

Finger On The Pulse

John Holland gives us his usual political run down. After spending years in Chattanooga, Tennessee and working in many of the south’s now burgeoning cities, he’s usually got his finger on the pulse.

Media Town

Finally the fact is, I was amazed at the number of people living in the Nashville Metro who work in media.

The music business, recording studios, film and video production, music itself and much more.

Finally it’s obvious from a trip through Broadway on a Saturday Night, Nashville loves to party.

The Real Nashville…Next Time

Even more I can’t wait to come back and see the real down home Nashville the locals know.

Music City works for me!

Offgrid In Trump Country

Firstly wouldn’t it be cool to live offgrid in a home that actually pays you? I am in Kentucky and my guest in Offgrid-In-Trump-Country-Bob-Davis-Podcast-964 builds these homes.

Rural Kentucky

Secondly rural Kentucky like most of rural America, is Trump country.

Stolen Election

Out here they think the democrats stole the election from President Trump.

Lots of Stories

Most importantly there are a lot of stories about ballots all over the country.

Jay Hamilton

But Jay Hamilton is unique.

Curious and Active Mine

Certainly Jay’s uniqueness is driven by his curious and active mind.

Lots of Fun

This is what makes spending time with him so much damn fun!

Benford’s Law

However when he applies his intellect to Benford’s Law and precinct level election data, sparks fly.

Election Fraud?

Above all many wonder about election fraud.

Nomad Adventures

The great thing about being a nomad is the opportunity to meet and talk with people like Jay Hamilton. You get to join me in this effort in Offgrid-In-Trump-Country-Bob-Davis-Podcast-964.

Big City Friends Wonder

Moreover my big city friends keep asking me what Trump supporters think.

Meet Jay

Therefore I give you Jay. I do not pass judgement on his theories. I’ll leave that to you.

We’re All Human Beings

In the same vein I have learned we are all human beings.

Some Very Nice People

When I was covering the democrat caucuses in Iowa, my Trump friends wanted to know was up with “those people”.

I noted the fact that many of the democrats I’d met were very nice people.

Check This Analysis

Finally I think everyone should check out Jay’s analysis of what could have happened in the 2020 election.

Getting Offgrid?

And if you are looking to get off grid Jay is your guy.

Back-Road-Trip-Chattanooga-Bob Davis Podcast-841

These days if you want to find out what’s going on you have to hit the road. We’re in Tennessee for a few surprises. Learn more in Back-Road-Trip-Chattanooga-Bob Davis Podcast-841.

Southeastern Tennessee is as Republican as it gets in this country. Even more, a modern economic miracle has taken place in Chattanooga, where a public private partnership has transformed the city.

All the talk about what people in this country might do in the 2020 election is most noteworthy. A theme in these podcasts has been attacking the perception that people with an R in front of their name are actually conservative.

Certainly Chattanooga is a miracle. Back in the day it was an industrial powerhouse. Due to it’s role it was considered one of the dirtiest cities in North America. A public private partnership turned it around. Learn more here.

In addition, Tennessee as a whole is certainly booming these days. From Volkswagen in Chattanooga to the music business in Nashville and the federal government corporate entity known as The Tennessee Valley Authority, things are good here.

Especially relevant to me though is the right-wing orientation of the state as a whole, and yet, all these institutions which might be considered socialist, by any other name.

Finally, local expert John E. Holland joins the podcast to talk about politics in the region and Tennessee’s burgeoning development strategy today.

In conclusion people here consider themselves ‘conservative’ down to flying confederate flags and wide margins for President Trump in 2016. Meanwhile public/private partnerships and Federal corporate assets allocate tax dollars and investment and they love it.

To be sure Tennessee as a whole is truly wonderful. When it comes to principles, though, one wonders what ‘conservative’ means, after all.
