Congressman-Tom-Emmer-Part2-Bob Davis Podcast 874

Tom Emmer On The Record

These days more important than arguing with politicians is getting them on the record. In view of election results in Virginia and Kentucky recently this podcast is most noteworthy. Learn more in Congressman-Tom-Emmer-Part2-Bob Davis Podcast 874.

Focus On The Issues

Especially relevant is are the issues in Congressman-Tom-Emmer-Part2-Bob Davis Podcast 874. We start with mining in Northern Minnesota near the Boundary Waters and Superior National Forest.

Mining

Congressman Emmer says mining is good for Minnesota’s economy and schools. Moreover, he says Congress needs to make sure the Federal Government lives up to its agreements with Minnesota on this subject.

Immigration

In addition immigration is a top issue. Specifically Somalis in the 6th district. Will congress pass comprehensive immigration legislation soon? Emmer lauds the President’s travel ban and says immigration action depends on GOP control of the House.

He Sold Us Out Some Constituents Say

Moreover Emmer blames assistance to immigrants for high levels of chain migration. Some 6th district constituents say Emmer sold them out on the immigration issue. He responds.

Funding For 2020 House Races

What about funding for house races? Emmer says republicans need to win at least 19 seats to take back the house. Trump on the ballot means the GOP takes back the house in 2020, says Tom.

Virginia and Kentucky Election Results

In contrast to Emmer’s hubris, democrats won recent elections in Kentucky and Virginia this week. Even more rumors of difficulty for the president in battleground states persist. Especially with women voters. Not to worry, says Emmer. Trump will win it all, the only question is the president’s margin of victory.

Foreign Policy

Similarly foreign policy issues are not clear cut for 2020. Another issue is trade. He also comments on Syria, Latin America and China.

Trade and The US Economy

Finally what about the US economy? Is the US growing? What about the budget deficits and debt?

Nocturnal-Thoughts-Seasonal Changes-Bob Davis Podcast 867

Night Owls Unite

I am a night person. Always was and will be. These days though it’s getting ridiculous. Staying up really late for a free wheeling talker in Nocturnal-Thoughts-Seasonal Changes-Bob Davis Podcast 867.

Extreme Night Person Here

Anyone who knows me is well aware of my scheduling extremes. Especially relevant are the changes I go through when the seasons change. Suddenly also Minnesotans are beginning to get scratchy throats and head colds. Here it comes.

Schedule Flip and SAD Light

First of all, sometimes I stay up so late I end up coming back around. This is what I call schedule flip. Then use something called a SAD light to reset my body clock. During this process I am in schedule hell. Staying up late and waking up too early.

Texts From Friends

Second as I am in the midst of this sleep schedule nightmare I am getting texts from friends. “Did you cover the Trump Rally?“, they want to know. So, unfortunately I have to address these questions in Nocturnal-Thoughts-Seasonal Changes-Bob Davis Podcast 867.

Dumpster Fire News

Because if I have learned anything traveling across the country and covering primaries and caucuses it is that the media loves a dumpster fire. Certainly Minneapolis did not disappoint, with dueling enthusiastic supporters of the president and protesters.

Traveling And Reporting

Above all it looks to me like the question, “Is It News?” hasn’t occurred to anyone. Certainly nothing wrong with getting a bunch of people together to collect email data and campaign contributions and to have something to post on social media. That goes for both sides in these cartoon political times.

Real News? Funny, Right?

Meanwhile the real news? Not getting addressed and ‘bubbling under’ when it comes to real coverage. The situation with Turkey and the Kurds. Stories about the Repo markets and federal reserve returning to a form of quantitative easing you would think would be unnecessary, what with the booming economy.

Talk It Out

Consequently it’s time to just talk it out. Kind of a transition between some of my heavily researched recent podcasts.

Summer’s Long Goodbye

As a result it’s a long goodbye to a great summer and the difficult transition to fall in this podcast. And considering my sleep schedule please don’t fact check on this one!

Disaster Predicting Future-Titanic-World War I-Bob Davis Podcast 790

More time to think during the holiday season spurs some strange ideas for podcasts. A disaster and a new movie form the basis for Disaster Predicting Future-Titanic-World War I-Bob Davis Podcast 790.

The Titanic

April 15th 1912 was the date of one of the best known disasters in history. Only two years later World War One began.

Moreover did the Titanic disaster predict World War One?

They Shall Not Grown Old

Especially relevant is a new movie in limited release by Peter Jackson. “They Shall Not Grow Old” features digitally enhanced film and audio. The result is a stunning film that brings the world of one hundred years ago to life. Hear Jackson talk about the movie in Disaster Predicting Future-Titanic-World War I-Bob Davis Podcast 790.

Unseen and Multiple Causes of Disaster

First of all the causes of disasters are almost always multiple and elusive. A coal bunker fire, inferior steel and an iceberg brought down the Titanic. Also poor leadership, the industrial revolution and secret alliances were just some of the causes of a disastrous war.

Europe Was The Ship That Could Not Sink

Most noteworthy the Elite of Europe seemed invincible in August of 1914. Europe was the ship that could not sink. By 1918, economies were destroyed. Kings abdicated. Great Britain never recovered its financial losses as the result of the first world war. Learn more in Disaster Predicting Future-Titanic-World War I-Bob Davis Podcast 790.

Complex Dangers

I believe disasters can be predictive because they reveal complex dangers we may not see.

Disaster Predicting Future-Titanic-World War I-Bob Davis Podcast 790 simply asks questions. Is the power structure in our world an elite similar to the European elite one hundred years ago? What kinds of new technologies harbor hidden dangers?

What Do We Not See?

Finally what are we not seeing that can lead to a major turning point in history?
