Finding Happiness In Nomad Life

Firstly can you find happiness in nomad life? Learn more about my experience in Finding-Happiness-In-Nomad-Life-Bob Davis Podcast 1003.

Big Subject

Secondly it’s a big subject for one podcast. Find more podcasts about nomad life here.

However I’ll give it a shot on a barefoot around the woods and lake.

Survival

Life used to be all about survival.

Happiness As A Life Purpose

Certainly happiness as a life purpose is a relatively new thing.

Because these days our basic survival needs are easier to address.

But survival is still the primary purpose of life in some places.

Time To Think

Finally here at the Wisconsin Base Camp there’s time to think about these ideas.

Find out my conclusions by listening to Finding-Happiness-In-Nomad-Life-Bob Davis Podcast 1003.

New Questions About Nomad Life

In addition I still get fun questions about nomad life.

For instance how long am I going to keep doing this.

And what are the negatives of nomad life.

I couldn’t really think of any.

To clarify I would say questions of time and resources play a role.

In addition how fast I need to move around the country to address a business concern.

Opportunities Not Negatives

On the other hand I take “negatives” as opportunities.

Life Lessons

There’s a life lesson there.

How do you measure happiness?

Higher Vibration

In the same vein there’s something about being unbound and unburdened that seems to promote a higher vibration.

In short these days thousands of people are refusing to return to offices.

Hitting The Road

Even more many are hitting the road.

They are chucking their old life for the promise of something new.

And we now have the tools to do it!

To sum up that’s what nomad life is all about.

Something Going On

Likewise there’s something going on with this nomad ‘thing’.

Americans are definitely more motivated to take control of their lives in a way I have not seen before.

Taking Back Our Power

Moreover we don’t have to be a nomad to take back our power.

For many it’s making the decision to continue to work from home.

Or a pretty rad cabin in the woods.

Meaning and Happiness

In short the search for happiness and meaning in life is intensifying.

Back Roads

In conclusion I find meaning on the back roads and it’s pretty great.

Mount Rainier to Sioux Falls in 4 Days

Firstly I don’t like to travel this fast but I just rolled from Mount Rainier to Sioux Falls in 4days. Learn more in Mount-Rainier-Sioux-Falls-4Days-Bob Davis Podcast 1002.

Amazing

Secondly it was an amazing trip.

Game Changer In Sioux Falls

Most importantly I had a game changing business meeting in South Dakota that solved my connectivity problems in one fell swoop. In addition I’ll be telling you more about this fix in future podcasts.

Oregon Coast To Washington State

But it was a great trip up the Oregon Coast, to Washington’s Mount Rainier then across the Yakima Valley.

Idaho to Montana

Even more Idaho and Montana take the cake.

Grasslands

And the grasslands of North Dakota!

South Dakota In 100 Degree Heat

Finally the trip across South Dakota in one hundred degree heat was one for the books.

One Day to Minnesota and Wisconsin

Further still a quick one day trip across Minnesota to Wisconsin for Father’s Day 2021.

Fading Restrictions and Burgeoning Optimism Across America

Above all a trip across the northern tier of the United States at a time when Covid restrictions are beginning to face for the time being, and people seem more optimistic.

Record Visitors At The Parks

Certainly the national parks have record visitors and are packed while the National Forests and Bureau of Land Management campgrounds are deserted.

Lassen Mount Shasta and More

Moreover I was able to enjoy Lassen National Park and Mount Shasta before quite an adventure in the Rogue River Siskiyou National Forest in Oregon.

Logging roads, coast line, rain forests, arid valleys and more.

Back Roads Forever

To clarify I am struck by how much running across the country this way on back roads is similar to binge watching a series on HBO or Netflix at the height of the pandemic last year.

Travel Velocity

Certainly I wonder if I am one of the few nomads moving across the country at various levels of travel velocity, covering so much ground all on the back roads.

How Far and How Fast

To sum up I wonder how the rest of the my nomad friends listening and reading this blog travel. How far and how fast.

Running Fast Can Be Fun

In short I’ll say it again. I don’t like to travel this fast. It’s exhausting. But it can be fun as well.

In the same vein I hope listeners and subscribers enjoy some of the stories and experiences from this mega trip.

Plans Change

In addition I’ve changed my plans a bit, I think, for the rest of the summer.

Podcast 559-Why I Travel

Podcast 559-Why I Travel. Travel is good for so many things. Join me for a ride on the Washington State Ferry on the way to Port Townsend, Washington, on a clear, bright, sunny day in the Pacific Northwest. You’re inside the ride from boarding Mobile Podcast Command Unit 8, a conversation with one of the ferry workers, and a quick walk up to the main deck for a cup of coffee and a walk around the outer decks as the ferry leaves the dock. This is a big deal for a midwesterner. In Minnesota we do not have the working ports, the huge ferries and the breathtaking scenery of the Pacific Northwest. Minnesotans will of course say, “Oh but it’s pretty good here in Minnesota” and it is, but the Pacific Northwest is pretty much peerless on this front. Pines, islands, temperate climate, mountains, and the Pacific, beaches. Still every place has something it can call its own that is pretty incredible. I’ve talked to a lot of people on this trip and they ask about Mobile Podcast Command, or they ask about snow in Minnesota. So there’s that. Podcast 559-Why I Travel takes a look at why travel is so therapeutic for the soul. It softens hard opinions. It opens your mind. It allows you to appreciate the small things people do for each other, and it allows you to appreciate the jewels every state has. Believe it or  not, every state of our country is a little different from the other. Regions are even more different, and since this trip is a Great Northwest and Great Western trip, you’re going to be hearing a lot about some of the issues regarding development and the environment. These two issues are paramount in the west, and the northwest. Some of this was covered in Podcast 558-Pipeline Protest, and I am sure there is more to come along these lines. After the Ferry Ride, another Ferry Ride and a quick hit in Seattle, then south to the Oregon Beaches, as a big Pacific Fall Storm bears down on the region. One thing is for sure and it is driven home when I head out aboard Mobile Podcast Command. The country is not falling apart. Some people might be hurting and we could use more economic growth, but for the most part the highways are smooth (remember I am driving on two lane state roads most of the way, and they are fine, even in North Dakota where the oil trucks are beating them to death.) and small towns look prosperous.
