Encouragement

Certainly all the nomads featured in the video received a lot of messages and encouragement from Peter’s viewers.

And we really appreciate it.

Power

Above all it convinced me again of the power of the YouTube platform.

How I Used YouTube

However over the years I avoided YouTube except for very specific uses.

Investment

Because I felt if I was going to do video I would have to invest in equipment and editors.

End Of Worry

But I’m not going to worry about all of that now.

My Intentions

Most importantly I’ll explain in this podcast how I intend to use the channel in the future.

In addition it’s a good opportunity to provide some background on The Bob Davis Podcasts for new subscribers and listeners.

In addition there are different philosophies about nomad life.

We Don’t All Agree

That is to say we do not all agree about what nomad life is and what it means.

Vibrant Community

Consequently it makes for a vibrant community.

Why Come Out

For example what if you have little or no camping experience?

Should you come out in a car long term?

And what kind of people will you encounter?

Not For Everyone

In short it’s not for everyone.

Born To Wander

But if you have the bug to wander deep down inside it is probably for you.

However if you want to know what the experience of nomad life is about there’s not much on that.

Above all it may just be such a complicated subject no one wants to tackle it.

On the other hand the nomad experience depends on the individual.

Hard To Pin It Down

For that reason it’s difficult to pin down what the experience is all about.

Most importantly there’s as many different experiences as there are nomads.

For example there’s weekend warriors, people in their cars, hippies in buses and Van Life people.

And even more people with varying degrees of resources with almost any kind of rig you can imagine. But it’s not all like the movie.

Something’s Going On

Moreover there’s something going on.

Back In The World

That is to say there’s something going to back in the world, as I like to say.

Fear

Maybe it’s because of fear.

Life Is Not Guaranteed Anymore

And the feeling suddenly that life is not the guarantee it once was.

Damn The Torpedoes

I think many have decided damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead.

Passion

During that process they pull a switch that ignited a passion to live.

Life and Experience

After that a desire to experience.

It’s not for everyone.

Now A Thing

However this is becoming a thing.

Dirt Under The Fingernails is Chic?

Even more, two words that come to mind are chic and Hollywood.

Please Don’t Call It A Movement

Finally I hope this doesn’t become a ‘movement’.

With leaders and followers.

Yes there is a MAGA campground.

Desert Rats

Even more John and I believe we have discovered a tremendous business opportunity in ridding campers of the scourge of desert rats!

But you’ll have to listen to the end for that.

To sum up I probably won’t be in this spot forever but I am having a blast for the time being.
