One of my favorite podcasts. The Dillinger gang regularly hit the highway, driving from Chicago to Saint Paul, in one night. I wondered. Is that true? Could it be done? So I set out with a map to head off to Chicago from Western Wisconsin, using the old national highway system (pre expressways), and I really enjoyed myself. That weekend was the 75th anniversary of the killing of John Dillinger in Chicago. Come with me as I travel the rural routes of Wisconsin, just like the desperadoes of old, in the middle of the night, from Saint Paul to Chicago.

When I first started doing podcasts, not many people were listening to them. In fact, radio stations didn’t have a place on their websites for podcasts, aps like Sound Cloud, and aps that go out and get podcasts and allow you to program your own talk station, did not exist. My only way to communicate with people was through email. So I thought I would do a ‘mail bag’ podcast. Comments from listeners via email. The education system, challenging federal largesse with litigation, “we is the problem”, the nature of the podcasts and more.
