Podcast 96

A snow and ice storm in Atlanta provides a great example of government incompetence juxtaposed against a stage-managed “State of The Union” address from a President struggling to prove competence. Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction. My final thoughts on the State of the Union and discussion of the disconnect between what people are experiencing in America, how they’re expressing it, versus the perfumed princes and princesses in Washington D.C. I just turned off your lackluster successors on broadcast radio, and listened to one of your podcasts. I really missed the relevant, substantial discussions that you bring. Thanks for the fix.

You’re welcome. There are many people asking me “where I have gone”, when I have been here all the time, and have been here. I feel sorry for people who are still listening to the radio these days, or watching the kind of television which requires you to sit there and listen to endless hours of commercials and programming geared to keep you watching. Podcasting is “sick”, as the Millennials say.

Ha Ha! i’m glad i stumbled on your podcasts last year when i was trying to find out what happened to you!! the only other podcast i can stomach is mark levin because he takes out the commercials which I HASTE INCESSIVELY!!. jason lewis (i hope you have him on more often) is great if you fast forward thru the commercials. i don’t listen to the radio anymore!! this is awesome what you have started here!!

Tal I hope the content is what is driving you and not just an urge to get away from commercials. Combined with content, a change in the tenor of HOW I communicate — think one-on-one headphones, rather than AM Radio Dashboard — is why you like the Bob Davis Podcasts. That’s why I call it ‘The New Talk’. Broadcasters keep doing things people don’t like, expecting their audiences to grow. The Podcasts are created FOR distribution over the Internet, FOR people who want a new way to listen to News Talk, using a new medium. That’s what ‘The New Talk’ is all about.
