One Day In Death Valley

What’s it like to live in a converted fire truck for one day in Death Valley? Join me for details in One-Day-In-Death-Valley-Bob Davis Podcast 1167.

Podcasts About My New Rig

Firstly I have been doing podcasts about the new rig.

In fact it has become sort of series.

A Dream

Without a doubt my repurposed 1999 Freightliner FL-70 First Responder Unit 11 is a dream.

But I get a lot of questions from listeners and viewers asking what it is like to live in this vehicle.

YouTube Channel

Secondly if you watch the YouTube channel video here you’ll get a good visual idea.

Audio Provides Depth

In addition this audio podcast has more specific content regarding what I did and why.

Solitude

Furthermore I am able to spend a little more time on the audio podcasts talking about topics like solitude.

Freedom From Toxic Content

As well as why I won’t discuss current events in these podcasts either on video or audio.

Watch Or Listen

Thirdly the Death Valley backdrop is great for video if you want to watch.

Mindfulness

Equally important the Death Valley backdrop is so valuable for mindfulness.

Special Place

Correspondingly I can’t get enough of this special place.

New Experiences

And I want to come here for a new experience every year.

Death Valley Podcasts Every Year

Consequently you can expect Death Valley podcasts every now and then in the future.

Thirty Days In The Park

Generally speaking one can spend about thirty days per year in the park.

With this in mind I want to use up every moment of that thirty days.

Winter Escape

Especially in winter.

Rain

Another key point concerning this trip was the rain.

Certainly we don’t associate Death Valley with rain.

Yet it does rain in the park every now and then.

Vast Palette

Surprisingly when it does rain there is a vast palette of colors and light.

Emotional Impact

In the same fashion the vastness adds up to a very emotional impact.

Solitude Is A Goal and Asset

Most importantly the solitude and quiet becomes quite an asset.

In view of the insanity in the everyday world having the opportunity to spend some quiet time becomes a huge asset.

To put it another way it is said either you love Death Valley or you can’t wait to leave.

Of course I am the prior rather than the latter.

Above all I am one of those who cannot get enough of this place.

Lean In

Finally all the social media experts tell creators to ‘lean in’ to current issues.

Relatability

That is to say this is the way a creator becomes more ‘relatable’.

Pure Experience

However this isn’t what motivates me as a creator.

All of the sudden it becomes very important and relevant to actually provide a place where current events talk doesn’t take away from the pure experience.

All in all the pure experience might be the most relevant thing we need right now.

Join me for One-Day-In-Death-Valley-Bob Davis Podcast 1167 and open the door to that experience.

Perfect Pacific Vibe

Firstly my trip up the Pacific Coast Highway is a continuation of the Mega Road Trip for 2025. That is to say I am taking the scenic route on my way back to Wisconsin from the California Deserts. Details in Perfect-Pacific-Vibe-Bob Davis Podcast 1160.

Review Of The RoadTrip So Far

Secondly for review listen to Podcast 1159. Here’s the Link.

Yes There is Video

In addition both the video versions of these podcasts are available at the Bob Davis Podcasts YouTube Channel.

Stunning

What’s more the scenery is stunning.

Death Valley To The Coast

By all means there’s plenty of information about what routes I took from Death Valley to the coast.

And on up the coast to the Redwoods.

Show and Share

Thirdly I do not tell listeners ‘how’ so much in these podcasts and on the video channel as I show and share the experience.

Bucket List

Nevertheless many people include a trip down the Pacific Coast Highway on their so called ‘Bucket Lists’.

That being said I don’t do bucket lists.

In fact I have been up and down this highway more than once in the last few years.

Never Disappoints

To be sure the Pacific Coast Highway never disappoints.

Happy Accidents

But a planned camping trip threw a wrench into the plans to continue the trip up the full length of the PCH from Santa Barbara.

Even though I put a lot of time into maps and planning some happy accidents made a huge difference in the star crossed nature of this trip.

Getting Lost Is Winning

Accordingly getting lost and finding campgrounds that were deserted and free completely by accident made this trip one for the books.

BackRoads and Coastal Campgrounds

Correspondingly finding backroads and mountain roads with incomparable views was a feature.

With this in mind I don’t know if I could tell listeners and subscribers just how I got to a place.

Given these points it’s really all about getting there and now how.

Life Lessons

To put it differently many lessons on the road often turn out to be great life lessons too.

Perfect Beach Towns

By all means its important to hold space for those happy accidents that lead to the sublime.

Overall many listening to Perfect-Pacific-Vibe-Bob Davis Podcast 1160 who have been traveling themselves for any length of time will identify with this idea.

Especially since time and again I found myself in a campground or circumstance that literally took my breath away.

Why California?

Finally people often ask me why I wanted to spend so much time in California this year.

Basically California is one of the most unique places in the US and maybe even the world.

Obviously and certainly it’s expensive and Golden Staters themselves think it’s weird.

But all things considered this is still one of the the best road trips I have been on.

2025 High Vibe In Death Valley

It’s time for a higher vibe to ring in the New Year and Death Valley is the place to do it. Details in 2025-High-Vibe-Death-Valley-Bob Davis Podcast 1154.

Staying To The Maximum

I came here to stay one or two nights and ended up extending to the maximum time.

As a matter of fact I could live here if they let me.

What a contrast to the Truck Stops of Las Vegas.

Especially the stars.

Largest National Park

Of course this is the largest National Park in the Lower 48.

Surprise

But at the holiday time of year I was surprised by the number of people camping up here.

Primitive Man

Certainly it’s true that our end of year rituals rooted in primitive man.

So it’s fair to suggest Christmas and New Year’s celebrations precede the Christian Era.

And our commercial hustle and bustle suggests a return to pagan roots for some.

Camping For Christmas and New Years

But I am still surprised at the number of people camping here for Christmas and New Years.

Primitive Roots

Accordingly this place has a lot of primitive history.

With this in mind the ghosts of Ancients, American Indians and Pioneers have a certain currency.

Ghosts

As well as the miners and entrepreneurs that built some of the best attractions in the Park as well as in the region around it.

History

Up to the present time this place has a lot of history.

Gratitude

Furthermore as a nomad I am grateful for the ability to enjoy places like this at length.

Vibe

The first thing to remember is the vibe in the campgrounds is high.

Campfire

Firstly every night there is a lot of talk around the campfire of where people camped and what they saw that day.

Crush Of Holiday Activities Back Home

Secondly and chiefly a huge relief and respite from the shopping and food and family intensity of Thanksgiving through the New Year.

Winter Solstice

Meanwhile the Winter Solstice is supposed to be for resting and refitting.

In addition for preparing our seeds to be planted in Spring.

In summary Death Valley is a special place with a lot of life!
