Podcast 102

I meant to post this Podcast in the early morning hours of 2/21/14, but a snowstorm knocked out the Internet! Back up and running and posting later on this day. In the midst of the storm, the big stories of the week and a look ahead. While Jack Frost ‘eats the profits’ of America’s corporations (nonsense, of course, economic data is still weak and they keep trying to find explanations for it, which get more and more absurd as time goes on), the FCC wants to put ‘researchers’ in newsrooms, there are some bright spots including getting ahead on Fusion Reaction, a ‘conservative’ new mayor in San Diego, California , the UAW loses a big one in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and a few thoughts on my favorite new show; House of Cards. Sponsored by The Good Feet Store.

Podcast 101

People seem to like it when we talk about radio on The Bob Davis Podcasts. In Podcast 101, we’re joined by my friend and Emerson College instructor Jack Casey. Emerson is one of the most respected schools for media arts in the country, and Jack runs the Broadcast Radio program there, and oversees the student run radio station WERS-FM. We talk about the business, tell some stories, talk about radio today, what Jack tells his students and more. Sponsored by Ryan Plumbing and Heating of Saint Paul.

Podcast 100

A slice of political life, in midwinter 2014 just before the political campaign season begins in Minnesota. Podcast 100 features a montage of politicians, activists and media people discussing conservative messaging at a Tea Party event. Rather than play the whole event, it has been edited down to its essence; It’s almost like a time capsule. Listen to it now, in the fall of 2014 and after the election of 2014, to see if it portends wins or losses. Sponsored by Baklund R&D. Also, an oversight in the podcast…We were also joined by The Taxpayers League of Minnesota head former Minnesota Senator Ted Lillie. Ted was a late addition to the panel, and I did not mention him in the podcast, although he contributed greatly to the panel.
