Rolling With The Changes

Firstly there’s a lot of change and we’re rolling with the changes. Especially when there is a family emergency. Learn more in Rolling-With-The-Changes-Bob Davis Podcast 977.

Abrupt Change Happens In Everyone’s Life

Secondly abrupt and surprising developments visit everyone sooner or later.

Flexibility Is Called For

Most importantly you have to be flexible enough to deal with abrupt change, even when you’re nomad.

Not Easy

Certainly I was having a great time. From Minnesota to the Gulf Coast, across the desert to Southwestern Arizona.

Plans Shift and Things Change

Even more, I had plans to head further west to an big off road race in Johnson County, California.

Things Happen

But things happen, as they say.

Whatever It Takes

Above all when your family is in crisis you have to do whatever you can.

Nomad Travel Rewind

In my case that required me to rewind all my travels in just a few days.

Interstate Driving

Subsequently I drove East on the I-10 to I-17 North, to 40 East all the way from Arizona to Virginia, and then I-85 North to the Richmond area.

All A Blur

As a result there were a lot of truck stop stays which I don’t remember. In addition a number of sights that were a blur, like the Cadillac Ranch.

Marathon Trek

In fact I didn’t even think to record anything for this podcast in Mobile Podcast while making that marathon trek.

Massive Change

Finally the point here is that we’re going through massive change. Some will applaud the changes. Others will not.

Flexible Enough To Roll With The Changes

Likewise as I have pointed out in many recent podcasts, during periods of intense change and challenge, one has to be able to roll with the changes.

To sum up, flexibility is required.

Attached To Outcomes?

For example right now I am dealing with a number of strong and independent personalities, myself included. Being rigid and attached to a certain outcome doesn’t really help in this environment. I’ll explain in Rolling-With-The-Changes-Bob Davis Podcast 977.

Listen And Learn More

In conclusion clearly there’s something going on here. You’ll have to listen to find out.

Podcast 352

Pacific Coast. From LA, to El Capitan State Park. Back on the road and headed to Napa, California to do a podcast with an old friend. From there, who knows? Have to be back in Minneapolis and Saint Paul on April 25th for the big shindig at the Chanhassen Dinner Theater. While the current news events beckon, once the wheels get rolling, the immediacy of today’s momentary outrage starts to fade. People getting shot by cops? Iran doesn’t like the ‘deal’? Bah. Perhaps part of the reason for that is the perfection of the Pacific Coast heading out of Los Angeles. As California faces tough choices on development, water and budget issues, the biggest concern seems to be too many people will move to the Golden State. LA projects its population to continue growing through 2050 and some claim ‘there’s nowhere to put them’. Forget for a moment California has been losing businesses due to regulation and taxation. Then there is the fact that people who live in no tax, or low tax states decry the regulation and taxes in California, and its easy to see why. Businesses are moving and incorporating in those low or no tax states, especially Texas. California doesn’t seem to care and its easy to see why. From dreamy Los Angeles and the movie set that is Santa Barbara, all the way up the coast, why wouldn’t you want to move here? Oh yeah, taxes and rules, rules, rules! While there are rough places in California, and of course poverty, and a lot of people drive Hondas or beat up Impalas, there are those beach houses in Malibu, State Street in Santa Barbara, coastal villages and the sunsets. Nowhere is the space between those on the lower end of the economic scale and those on the highest more obvious. Live from the state park at El Caspitan beach, some thoughts on the trip so far, a little ‘Californio’ history and oh yeah, a sunset. Sponsored by Autonomous Cad
