Let’s Talk RV’s

Let’s Talk RV’s in Bob Davis Podcast 1040. Attended the big RV show at Quartzsite Arizona recently. Firstly the prices are off the charts. Learn more in Let’s-Talk-RV’s-Bob Davis Podcast-1040.

Tent Cities

Secondly the best thing about Quartzsite’s peak period are the tent cities.

Everything Under The Sun

Above all there isn’t much you can’t get for your rig under these tents.

Supplies

Certainly there are the usual hook ups, hoses, mats, plumbing, lights and other RV supplies.

Other Goodies

But there are also a host of other goodies like Buffalo and Cow Hides, army surplus stuff and a lot more.

Amazing RV’s

More importantly there are a lot of amazing new RV’s worth millions of dollars.

Real RV Show

However the real RV show is at the campgrounds and along the Quartzsite streets in mid January every year.

That’s when you see the school buses, restored mid century GMC buses, Over Landers and more.

Just Plain Fun

Even more the weird and creative concoctions people come up with are just plain fun.

These are not in the show, and should be.

Crazy Rallies Too

In the same vein there are plenty of rallies at the various free campgrounds around here. From Air Streams to School Buses and vintage trailers, it’s all here.

Eye Popping Price Tags

But finally it’s the eye popping price tags that most of us nomads simply cannot afford.

Not Just The Big Coaches

Moreover it’s not just the big coaches.

Smaller RV’s Too

To sum up the Sprinters Class C and B prices are headed through the roof as well with no end in sight.

Cheaper Prices Ahead?

Meanwhile one wonders whether there will be a lot of these awesome rigs for sale someday at considerably cheaper prices.

Nomad Boom

Likewise even the experts struggle to understand the scale of the ‘chuck it all’ nomad boom sweeping the country right now.

Hidden Costs

In addition the high prices and opulent interiors hide the very real maintenance costs.

How Many Bathrooms?

And managing the many systems such as double door fridges, TV’s and more than one bathroom in most of the big coaches.

Grateful

In short I found myself grateful for my dusty old Mobile Podcast Command Ambulance.

Simplicity

It’s simplicity, dependability and ability to get in and out of tight places makes me feel pretty good.

And it’s paid for.

Lunar-Eclipse-Radio-Bob Davis Podcast 1027

Lunar Eclipse Radio

Firstly some experts say the upcoming Lunar Eclipse might break things. We’ll talk about it in Lunar-Eclipse-Radio-Bob Davis Podcast 1027.

Chaos

Secondly I don’t think anyone can argue things feel chaotic right now.

Making Adjustments

To review I’ve talked about how the current economic reality requires nomads to make adjustments.

However for people living the so called ‘normal’ life in most urban areas the pressure is building.

End Of The World November 19th 2021

Even more aside from the usual talk about how November 19th’s eclipse will be the longest in duration there are those who say it will be the end of the world.

Desert Vibe

On the other hand out here in the desert the vibe is more peaceful.

Rising Prices

Certainly nomads have had to adjust to rising prices.

For example traveling shorter distances, free camping and shopping for cheaper fuel and food.

Nomads Have More Control

Above all we have a little more control over how we expose ourselves to the economic chaos we all feel.

Feelings

But what about feelings and intuition.

Mind In Both Worlds

To clarify I’ve always had my mind in both the real world and the world of feelings.

Metrics

I’m always looking for metrics and ‘proof’.

However I still have the same underlying feelings about the near future I talked about back when I was in Snow Mass in August. Check out that podcast here.

For instance more than one of my friends has recently actually used the word ‘chaos‘ to describe feelings.

Lunar Effect

And the closer we get to the lunar eclipse the stronger that intuition gets for some people.

Therefore in this podcast it’s time to talk about feelings and intuitions.

Hanging Out

Above all I am hanging out in Quartzsite, Arizona.

Quartzsite Is Special

That is to say this is one of those special and weird Arizona towns that I hope never has to endure the development of a Bougie Sedona or worse, Phoenix.

In addition Quartzsite’s sun faded and weather beaten hardscrabble businesses form a perfect backdrop for the town’s odd cast of characters.

In addition we Nomads are a perfect addition to the craziness here.

I love it!

Therefore get ready for the big experience in Lunar-Eclipse-Radio-Bob Davis Podcast 1027.

Wearing-Arizona-Out-Bob Davis Podcast 1026

Wearing Out Arizona

Firstly I am wearing Arizona out right now. High fuel prices means spending more time in individual states. Learn more in Wearing-Arizona-Out-Bob Davis Podcast 1026.

Got A Thing

Secondly I have had a thing for Arizona for a long time.

Search For The Old West

Above all I continue the search for the Old West.

All Desert

Even more now that the colder weather is filtering down from the Canyon to the Mountains it’s all desert for me.

Love It!

And I couldn’t be happier.

More Time In Arizona

As the result of higher fuel prices I am adjusting my travel plans so that I can spend more time in certain places.

Nomads In A Good Position

Certainly I’ve made the case that nomads are better positioned to reduce their exposure to inflation. Click here for that podcast.

Free Camping

Even more since orienting to this new plan I have become very focused on dispersed camping, free camping and even hanging out at Truck Stops when I am in transit. I share some of those tips in Wearing-Arizona-Out-Bob Davis Podcast 1026.

Something About Arizona

But overall there is something about Arizona.

Maybe it’s the sunsets.

Juniper

In addition I can never get enough of the scent of juniper on the fire.

Pines And Mountains

Or the pines and the mountain woods.

Highways

Finally we have all seen the Arizona Highways pictures.

On the other hand there are some amazing highways and views in this state. In the past few weeks I’ve had the pleasure to experience many of them.

Plan

To sum up we nomads are lucky. If we plan it right we can avoid spending too much money.

Low Profile

And I am still learning how to achieve as low a profile as possible so I am not exposed to the higher and higher prices.

As a result I get to see some really cool places that most wouldn’t bother.

Whether it’s Gila Bend in the south or the Navajo Nation to the north.

Off The Beaten Path

In the same vein if you can get off the beaten paths anywhere you get to see different parts of the US and these are some of the best places, in my opinion.
