Poor-Man’s-Paradise-Bob Davis Podcast 1120

Poor Man’s Paradise

Firstly as city life continues to deteriorate many Americans are searching for a Poor Man’s Paradise. Secondly Quartzsite Arizona might be the best of all. Details in Poor-Man’s-Paradise-Bob Davis Podcast 1120.

Cultural Crossroads

A friend and I were discussing this point recently as an illustration of different cultural crossroads.

Q-Town

Certainly Q-Town is a cultural crossroads.

Back In The Day

But these days are not like the bad old days of the late seventies, early eighties and nineties when hundreds of thousands of RV people crowded into the campgrounds around this southwestern town back in the day.

Think Jersey Shore

Accordingly in those days the streets were as crowded in winter as the Jersey Shore in summer.

In light of that kind of traffic these days it’s tame.

No Insult

In Poor-Man’s-Paradise-Bob Davis Podcast 1120 I’ll explain the most compelling evidence why it’s no insult to refer to Quartzsite as a poor man’s paradise.

Life Is More Expensive

Certainly as everything gets more expensive only the top one percent can afford the resorts.

For one thing the perks and extras in those places would fuel steaks and wood for campfires for all of us out here for weeks.

Snow Birds and Nomads

In addition snow birds and nomads would not be able to experience the true cultural crossroads this place is.

History

Another key point is there is a history to this place.

As a matter of fact there’s a museum in town that tells the story very nicely going back to the frontier days.

Enthralled

But in the same fashion I am enthralled by the people who run the businesses here in town…

And the new friends we meet along the way.

Questions

Finally I get a lot of questions from listeners and subscribers about Quartzsite.

For one thing they want to know what it’s like.

And they want to know how to prepare for it if they come down here.

Although helpful I am not going to provide that kind of content.

Because I think people should jump in and see what it’s all about for themselves.

Experiences May Vary

To put it differently your experiences might vary.

Dark Side

Certainly some see the dark side.

Thriving Temporary Town

However I see a thriving town thrown up every year to serve campers…

And to have fun too.

Isn’t that what it’s all about?

Three-Years-On-The-Road-Bob Davis Podcast 1119

Three Years On The Road

Three Years On The Road and embracing a fourth without reservation. Hear the story in Three-Years-On-The-Road-Bob Davis Podcast 1119.

First of all I started nomad life out with a podcast the very first night I was on the road.

Halloween Podcast

So every year my Halloween is a podcast day.

Fourth Year Of Nomad Travel Coming Up

Second of all I am fully embracing a fourth year on the road starting in November 2023.

Full Commitment

That is to say I have made a full commitment to so called nomad life.

Life On The Road

Altogether these commemorative podcasts provide a record of observations and stories about my life on the road.

Many Thanks

And many people to thank as always.

Certainly I will not have a full list of those to thank.

But the names that come up here I will assume fit this particular podcast.

Crazy

Above all many people ask me about all the ‘crazy’ people and situations I must encounter.

However sometimes the almost mundane nature of our lives as nomads might surprise those back in the world.

Change

In fact the change we encounter is more significant personally than anything else about this life.

Pace

The pace of travel and my life have changed in these three years without a doubt.

Positive

Surprisingly positive change.

Depth

One point often overlooked is the depth and quality of the relationships we form out here.

Face Value

Even more the fact that people accept you at face value.

Same Plane

That is to say we meet and begin our friendships on the same plane.

In The Moment

Regardless of who we thought we were or what we may have done what’s important is who we are in the moment while out here.

Vistas

Furthermore I wouldn’t trade the vistas I have seen through the windshield for anything.

Of course I have missed a lot of TV Shows in the last three years.

Timeless

Nevertheless I have gained timeless friendships and life experiences.

Like A Dream

Accordingly it has been more like a dream than anything else.

Of course I’d point out the details are in Three-Years-On-The-Road-Bob Davis Podcast 1119.

Not Always Easy

All in all I wouldn’t say it was easy.

But it was easier than staying back in the world.

Don’t Wait For Paradise

All things considered if you have something you want to do…

Don’t wait for paradise.

In summary whatever it is…reach out and grab it.

Reflections-From-The-Desert-Bob Davis Podcast 1075

Reflections From The Desert

Firstly the desert is a perfect place for reflection. Learn more in Reflections-From-The-Desert-Bob Davis Podcast 1075.

Creative Process

Secondly what’s your creative process?

Certainly there’s a lot to discuss about creative process in this podcast.

Free Wheeling Discussion

And a lonely desert with a campfire is the perfect spot for a free wheeling discussion.

Slow Is Fast

Above all I have learned working slowly is actually working fast.

And thorough.

Hyper Person

Of course people have thought of me as a hyper person.

One Thing At A Time

But in fact I like to work on one thing at a time and follow it through.

Stacking Creative Projects

Therefore stopped down in the desert means working on a writing project I’ve given myself.

As well as these podcasts.

Podcast Ideas

In fact developing unique ideas for the podcasts can be difficult these days.

Social Scrim

That is to say my listeners and subscribers know I refuse to get in the political social scrim.

Deeper Issues

However I do feel that advancing the story means talking about deeper issues.

Recent Podcasts Have Been Heavy

As a result some of the podcasts recently have been pretty heavy.

Time for an easy talker.

Campfire

So a campfire is just the ticket.

Structure

I also sum up the structure of my days out here.

Fuel Prices

Due to high fuel prices most nomads I know are hunkered down for the winter.

Southwestern Arizona

In fact Southwestern Arizona is perfect.

Perfect Fall Day

For example now that the monsoon is over everyday out here is like a perfect fall day in the Upper Midwest.

For the rest of the winter.

Channels Of Thought

Most importantly writing in addition to podcasting changes the channels of thought in a good way.

And I think will result in a sense of accomplishment after the winter months pass.

Second Year Anniversary

In short as I come up on the anniversary of a second year of nomad travel there’s a lot to talk about.

First Year

Finally the first year seemed to be in almost constant movement.

Second Year

On the other hand the second year has been a completely different vibe.

Experiences

In conclusion the great thing about nomad life is the experiences the nomad gives himself.
