Coffee and Friends In Quartzsite

Video

Secondly my friend Robert appeared with me in a Peter Santinello video about six months ago along with our friend Mike. Grab that video here.

Reconnect

So it’s great to reconnect along with all our other camping buddies here in the desert. Mike’s Podcast with me is here.

Old Friends and New Friends

Without a doubt camping here is all about connecting with old friends and new ones.

Masters Program In Nomad Life

In addition we enjoy discussions about how others do what they do.

In fact it’s like a masters program in nomad life.

Coffee

Therefore the first thing we do almost every morning is make coffee.

Bring A Chair

And we bring a chair to sit down and hash out the day.

Robert is joining me for this podcast in the same fashion.

Life Experience

All in all Robert has a lot of life experience and a great sense of humor. Robert is the Darq Nomad on YouTube. Click here for his channel.

All things considered one of the things that makes nomad life Quartzsite style so great is our combined life experience.

Allergy To Being Inside

As has been noted in these pages I was surprised to learn many of us have developed an allergy to being in a house too long.

It was for this reason I spent the summer camped along a lake shore.

Same Experiences

And I was surprised to learn several of us had the same experience.

Taking Risks

Even more one of the things I like about Robert is his willingness to take risks to get things done.

Upgrading To Utility Trailer

In Coffee-Friends-In-Quartzsite-Bob Davis Podcast 1122 Robert explains how he upgraded to a utility trailer build this summer.

To explain Robert took food service and retail jobs to help the build along.

And keep him out of a house.

This Is Home

In truth we feel at home in these campgrounds.

Certainly I think friendship is key.

But the warmth doesn’t hurt.

Summer Of Travel

Above all it has been quite a summer of travel.

Firstly starting out in March with a more than fifteen hundred mile trip back in the frozen north for a family emergency…

Abundant Midwest

And secondly heading out to the east coast through the abundant rural Midwest…

Plains and Mountains

Finally to the plains and mountains…

and the Grand Canyon…

Home In Quartzsite

To of course the deserts of the South West here in Quartzsite.

Video

To begin with early last spring myself and two other nomads out here appeared in a video with Peter Santinello.

It was unquestionably a surprise when we discovered Peter has over a million subscribers.

Fellow Nomads

Therefore I have promised my podcast subscribers I would have my fellow nomads Mike and Robert on the podcast.

Unfortunately Robert isn’t here yet but Mike is.

Therefore Mike joins me for Quartzsite-Again-Bob Davis Podcast 1118.

Responding To Questions and Comments

Furthermore we respond to some of the questions and comments we’ve received.

Nomad Life

Consequently this is a pretty good podcast for those considering nomad life.

No Advice

On this occasion we don’t give advice on how to do nomad life.

Observations

But I think some of Mike’s observations will help some people.

Spiders and Snakes

Additionally we throw in some talk about spiders and snakes and desert rats…

Just for fun.

All in all it’s not just about hazard.

Great Dinners and Conversation

Once in a while it’s also about great dinners cooked over the campfire…

Friendship

In addition great conversation and friendship.

Back In The Desert

All things considered it’s great to be back in the desert.

A Dream

In conclusion life out here is like peeling an onion.

Like a dream…

It’s got me hypnotized.

Wearing-Arizona-Out-Bob Davis Podcast 1026

Wearing Out Arizona

Firstly I am wearing Arizona out right now. High fuel prices means spending more time in individual states. Learn more in Wearing-Arizona-Out-Bob Davis Podcast 1026.

Got A Thing

Secondly I have had a thing for Arizona for a long time.

Search For The Old West

Above all I continue the search for the Old West.

All Desert

Even more now that the colder weather is filtering down from the Canyon to the Mountains it’s all desert for me.

Love It!

And I couldn’t be happier.

More Time In Arizona

As the result of higher fuel prices I am adjusting my travel plans so that I can spend more time in certain places.

Nomads In A Good Position

Certainly I’ve made the case that nomads are better positioned to reduce their exposure to inflation. Click here for that podcast.

Free Camping

Even more since orienting to this new plan I have become very focused on dispersed camping, free camping and even hanging out at Truck Stops when I am in transit. I share some of those tips in Wearing-Arizona-Out-Bob Davis Podcast 1026.

Something About Arizona

But overall there is something about Arizona.

Maybe it’s the sunsets.

Juniper

In addition I can never get enough of the scent of juniper on the fire.

Pines And Mountains

Or the pines and the mountain woods.

Highways

Finally we have all seen the Arizona Highways pictures.

On the other hand there are some amazing highways and views in this state. In the past few weeks I’ve had the pleasure to experience many of them.

Plan

To sum up we nomads are lucky. If we plan it right we can avoid spending too much money.

Low Profile

And I am still learning how to achieve as low a profile as possible so I am not exposed to the higher and higher prices.

As a result I get to see some really cool places that most wouldn’t bother.

Whether it’s Gila Bend in the south or the Navajo Nation to the north.

Off The Beaten Path

In the same vein if you can get off the beaten paths anywhere you get to see different parts of the US and these are some of the best places, in my opinion.
