#Nomadlife-Lessons-Part-Two-Bob Davis Podcast 1140

#Nomad Life Lessons Learned

Firstly #Nomadlife-Lessons-Part-Two-Bob Davis Podcast 1140 is a continuation of the line of thought I started in Part 1 in this series.

Welcome To The Anarchy

Secondly #Nomadlife itself is an anarchic world.

That is to say there are no set rules or “To Do’s” necessarily.

In other words there is no set way to be a ‘nomad’.

All About The Individual You

The lifestyle chiefly depends on the individual.

For instance what you need and what works for you.

Most Advice Is Useless

By all means my own interpretation of what is available when it comes to nomad content I have found to be pretty useless if you’re just starting out.

Purpose

Accordingly having a conversation with yourself about your purpose is important.

Work Is No Picnic These Days

Certainly it’s necessary to reiterate current economic conditions make housing very expensive…

Even more rules about coming back to the office put people of all age groups in a vice.

Because with seventy minute commutes in most major cities and higher prices, keeping up has become difficult.

Not to mention the oppressive nature of corporate and work life.

Alternative Lifestyle

So wanting an alternative lifestyle is not just a romantic notion these days.

All in all #nomadlife is a consideration…

What To Expect

Therefore in #Nomadlife-Lessons-Part-Two-Bob Davis Podcast 1140 my goal is to give future nomads an idea of what to expect.

For the most part it’s a great experience.

Revenue

However we all need a revenue stream and a purpose.

Vehicle or ‘Rig’

Thereafter almost everyone’s attention turns to what kind of vehicle to get.

Unquestionably this is is the fun part.

By the same token so is throwing all your crap away before you leave.

Don’t Borrow Money For An RV

But don’t borrow a bunch of money for an RV because they are not built for what we do..

Leave The Minivan At Home

And you might want to think twice about cramming into a minivan…

Although you will find videos and blogs that tell you this is a great idea.

To clarify there is a fair amount of desperation out there…

You need a little bit more room and capability than a minivan although some have made it work.

It’s a Personal Journey

Finally I don’t think the personal journey is emphasized enough.

Even more I think going out for the first year alone is a good idea.

In conclusion I spent a fair amount of time at the end of this podcast talking about the personal journey.

The Story Travel Tells

The story you are allowing time and space and travel to tell you.

And it’s so important to remember sometimes to have an adventure you have to just go.

Quartzsite-Again-Bob Davis Podcast 1118

Quartzsite Again

I have finally arrived ‘home’ in Quartzsite Again. After being stranded for a month in the Grand Canyon it feels great to be back. Details in Quartzsite-Again-Bob Davis Podcast.

Summer Of Travel

Above all it has been quite a summer of travel.

March

Firstly starting out in March with a more than fifteen hundred mile trip back in the frozen north for a family emergency…

Abundant Midwest

And secondly heading out to the east coast through the abundant rural Midwest…

Plains and Mountains

Finally to the plains and mountains…

To The Grand Canyon

and the Grand Canyon…

Home In Quartzsite

To of course the deserts of the South West here in Quartzsite.

Video

To begin with early last spring myself and two other nomads out here appeared in a video with Peter Santinello.

It was unquestionably a surprise when we discovered Peter has over a million subscribers.

Fellow Nomads

Therefore I have promised my podcast subscribers I would have my fellow nomads Mike and Robert on the podcast.

Unfortunately Robert isn’t here yet but Mike is.

Therefore Mike joins me for Quartzsite-Again-Bob Davis Podcast 1118.

Responding To Questions and Comments

Furthermore we respond to some of the questions and comments we’ve received.

Nomad Life

Consequently this is a pretty good podcast for those considering nomad life.

No Advice

On this occasion we don’t give advice on how to do nomad life.

Observations

But I think some of Mike’s observations will help some people.

Spiders and Snakes

Additionally we throw in some talk about spiders and snakes and desert rats…

Just for fun.

All in all it’s not just about hazard.

Great Dinners and Conversation

Once in a while it’s also about great dinners cooked over the campfire…

Friendship

In addition great conversation and friendship.

Back In The Desert

All things considered it’s great to be back in the desert.

A Dream

In conclusion life out here is like peeling an onion.

Like a dream…

It’s got me hypnotized.

Post-Eclipse-Take-A-Breath-Bob Davis Podcast 1055

Post Eclipse TakeĀ  A Breath Bob Davis

Firstly eclipses put out a lot of energy so post eclipse it’s good to take a breath. We’ll do that in Post-Eclipse-Take-A-Breath-Bob Davis Podcast 1055.

Front And Center Witness

Secondly as a nomad I have been front and center to witness three big eclipses.

Scope And Power Of An Eclipse

Above all very few natural events compare in their scope and power with a eclipse.

Tex-Mex!

For example as for this eclipse we had a big Tex-Mex Nomad dinner.

Coffee and Conversation

We drank gallons of coffee and talked for four hours.

Energy Dropped After

Finally after it was all over all of us dropped.

More Sleep Please

Even more two or three days later we’re still grabbing more sleep.

That’s how it is.

New Friends

Most importantly I am again reminded about getting to know new friends.

Community

Certainly the community aspect of slower travel is one of its major benefits.

Barnstormer…But

That is to say I am a barnstormer.

I think nothing of travel from west coast to east.

High Price Of Fuel

However the high price of fuel currently has us all stopped down in the desert.

Million Dollar View

Meanwhile I have a million dollar view here at the Imperial Dam Long Term Visitor Area. Right on the border of California and Arizona.

Learning

Therefore I am learning more about other nomads and campgrounds.

Planning

In the same vein this was part of my plan anyway.

In short when I blaze trails without stopping I don’t get the feel of an area or its people.

Yuma And Other Towns

When I stop after that I learn about Yuma, Arizona. Or some other southwestern towns.

And I love it.

Total Lunar Eclipse

To sum up all of this was accentuated by a beautiful total lunar eclipse on the evening of May15th 2022.

Count My Blessings

In addition it is an opportunity to count my blessings at this location.

Future Plans

And look ahead to plans for the rest of the summer.

In conclusion will I continue my nomad journey?

Above all I am watching economic developments like a hawk. For a synopsis podcast click here.

But I don’t think I’ve even started on my nomad journey!
