Summers End Turning Point 2022

Firstly summers end is always a turning point. You might remember this one for a long time. Details in Summers-End-Turning-Point-2022-Bob Davis Podcast 1068.

Not Political

Secondly these are not political podcasts.

Economy

Certainly they have to do with the US and world economies.

However one of the chief mistakes of many analysts is their penchant for attaching economic problems to current political leaders.

Inflation Years In The Making

Most importantly the inflation nomads and people back home are dealing with was years in the making.

Major Slow Down Ahead?

In addition one of the biggest takeaways from this podcast is the increasing possibility for a major slow down and a shift from inflation to deflation.

Recession

For example Germany, China and technically the United States are already in recession.

Feeling The Pinch

And smaller economies and developing economies are also feeling the pinch.

The Cause? Not What You Think

While much has been made of the war in Ukraine or supply issues these are not the root cause of the inflation in the United States.

Gas and Food For Nomads

Above all we nomads feel the pain when it comes to gas and food prices.

Everything For everyone Else

And for the people in the and of bricks and sticks it’s just about everything else.

In Summers-End-Turning-Point-2022-Bob Davis Podcast 1068 I argue that the inflation we’re dealing with has been caused by years of near zero interest rates and something called quantitative easing.

Don’t Bet On A Pivot

In the same vein analysts keep saying the US Federal Reserve will ‘pivot’ soon.

95 Billion Every Month Bought For Years

To clarify Quantitative Easing has taken the form of the central bank buying 95 billion dollars worth of bonds EVERY MONTH.

Now Selling 95 Billion Every Month

More importantly Quantitative Tightening is the central bank selling off 95 billion dollars worth of bonds EVERY MONTH.

Moreover those bonds are ramping up to a full 95 billion EVERY MONTH in September.

That’s a lot of liquidity sucked out of the banking system.

Therefore listeners can see why I say Summers End is a Turning Point.

Meanwhile I emphasize EVERY MONTH here because I did not in Summers-End-Turning-Point-2022-Bob Davis Podcast 1068.

OffGrid Freedom Utah

Firstly OffGrid Freedom Utah isn’t about solar powered homes. OffGrid-Freedom-Utah-Bob Davis Podcast-1067 is about having no cell coverage and the actual freedom that results from being ‘OffGrid’.

Garbage Minds

Secondly the amount of garbage that our minds are filled with from these phones is epic.

Heavy Users

Above all I know because I am a heavy user of my device.

Thinking

And due to the fact that when I experience outages I’ve noticed I can think!

Listening

Even more I can actually hear myself think!

Revelations

So look for some internal revelations as the result of spending a lot of time with a boat anchor known as the iphone.

At least when you’re OffGrid in Utah.

Review

Consequently I took the opportunity to review the last year or so of travel.

Life Decisions

In addition I was able to review some life decisions.

Mega Trips A Thing Of The Past?

For example last year at this time I was in the middle of a mega trip.

To clarify up the west coast. Out through the upper mountain west. Down through the Midwest. Across the Great Lakes to New England. Back through Massachusetts, New York, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and so on.

Granular Travel

On the other hand this summer’s travel has focused on Northern Arizona, Colorado and Utah.

OffGrid

That is to say I am way out in the deserts and mountains.

Even more down dirt roads and in primitive campgrounds or no campground!

Out Of Area

No cell service.

Freedom!

Subsequently no distractions!

Stories and Realizations

In short it’s great to think again!

And I have some stories and realizations to share in OffGrid-Freedom-Utah-Bob Davis Podcast-1067.

Modern Communications

Firstly I don’t think anyone really thinks about how influential modern communications can be.

The Wanting

Secondly as a result it’s the wanting that makes us all feel like we have and are less.

Certainly we don’t call it ‘the wanting’.

Manifesting

These days it goes by the name ‘Manifesting’.

Goals

Most importantly what happens when you ‘manifest’ right past your original goal?

What Do You Need?

Finally sometimes what you have is enough to do what you need.

Getting Out Can Be Tough

Secondly getting out of something is often way more challenging that getting in.

42 Miles of Dirt Road

Therefore the challenge in Dinosaur National Park is the 42 miles of dirt road to get out.

US Park System

Above all don’t get me wrong. This is one of the oldest parks in the US Park System.

And it is one of the largest.

Echo Park Campground Is Amazing

Even more it features the Echo Park road and Campground, which are truly amazing.

But there’s more.

Ancient People

Most importantly the Petroglyphs of the Fremont People.

Abandoned Ranch

And even an abandoned ranch dating back to the turn of the last century.

Campground At The Confluence Of Three Rivers

Finally I could go on for hours about the campground nestled in the rocks at the confluence of three rivers.

In addition there are at least two other campgrounds I now know of that might be more accessible.

And Bones

Further did I mention there are Dinosaur bones there?

Two Great Days

Most importantly I spent two great days in the campground.

Killer Meals

In the same vein I went on some great hikes and had some great meals.

Great People

Likewise I met some great people.

I was worried about getting out the way I got in.

Take The Beach Road!

So I was thrilled when I met a camper who told me to go out the River and Bench road.

No Climbing, She Said

In short it meant no climbing, she said.

To sum up this is where the adventure and challenge began.

[Editor’s Note: I keep calling it the ‘Beach’ Road, but it is in fact The Yampa Bench Road.]

Begin The Ordeal

Because getting out turned out to be quite an ordeal.

Certainly the rest of the details are in Dinosaur-National-Park-Challenge-Bob Davis Podcast 1062.

Oh I have Been On Bad Roads

I have certainly been on bad roads before.

A Certain Charm

But this one had a certain charm I will not soon forget.

Adventure
