Uncertainty-Principle-Bob Davis Podcast 1039

The Uncertainty Principle

Firstly the uncertainty principle is about uncertainty in our world these days. Nomads deal with uncertainty every day. For more information check out Uncertainty-Principle-Bob Davis Podcast 1039.

New Campsite

Secondly as if to pay off on the Uncertainty Principle I had to move to a new campsite this week.

Bureau Of Land Management Rule

Certainly the rule on Bureau of Land Management free campgrounds is 14 days and you move on.

Pushing The Rules

I pushed the rule a little spending nearly three months in one location. The good news? I can come back in two weeks!

Community

On the other hand I learned a lot about the nomad community.

Life Long Friends

And made a lot of hopefully life long friends.

True Grit

Even more I personally witnessed resourcefulness and true grit among my full time nomad friends.

Happy To Move

Therefore I am not in the least upset that I had to move.

Passes Rule

Most importantly the ranger was great. We had a nice conversation about all the many sites one can access with a Long Term Visitor pass, which I possess.

Uncertainty

Above all it made me think about the uncertainty we all feel about how things are going.

Bricks And Sticks

Most importantly back in the so called bricks and sticks world.

Back In The World

Or ‘back in the world’ as I like to say.

Caution No Certainty Ahead

Moreover I do not think any of us are going to wake up some sunny morning in the near future feeling certainty.

In fact I don’t think that’s going to happen for at least one generation.

Stable and Certain World Closed For One Generation

So if you’re an adult now perhaps you’ll be able to contribute to a more stable and certain world.

Living With Uncertainty

However for the time being we’re going to have to live with uncertainty. Learn more in Uncertainty-Principle-Bob Davis Podcast 1039.

Unpacking At The New Campsite

Finally join me in this podcast as I unpack and all the mats and boxes of firewood. The groceries. Chair. You know.

Don’t Be Fooled By Cheerful Nomads

And we’ll talk about how nomads deal with uncertainty in an almost cheerful manner.

We Attack Change

In the same vein I revisit the idea that to attack change we have to observe and orient ourselves to a new situation more often than back in the world.

Make Quick Decisions

In addition we then have to make quick decisions and act on them.

Have A Lot Of Grit

Aside from the fires and pot lucks there’s a lot of grit out here in the land of the nomad.

And Surprising Flexibility

In the same vein the flexibility and willingness to embrace change is often visible among people out here you’d never expect.

Life Turning Points

In short there are three turning points in everyone’s life that can lay us out.

Death, Divorce and losing a job.

Easier On The Road

To sum up I have to feel like it is easier out here to deal with that kind of trauma and learn to embrace the future as a result.

More Fun

In conclusion I certainly can’t predict the future. But for me living out here on the road is actually easier and more fun than back in the world.

Lunar-Eclipse-Radio-Bob Davis Podcast 1027

Lunar Eclipse Radio

Firstly some experts say the upcoming Lunar Eclipse might break things. We’ll talk about it in Lunar-Eclipse-Radio-Bob Davis Podcast 1027.

Chaos

Secondly I don’t think anyone can argue things feel chaotic right now.

Making Adjustments

To review I’ve talked about how the current economic reality requires nomads to make adjustments.

However for people living the so called ‘normal’ life in most urban areas the pressure is building.

End Of The World November 19th 2021

Even more aside from the usual talk about how November 19th’s eclipse will be the longest in duration there are those who say it will be the end of the world.

Desert Vibe

On the other hand out here in the desert the vibe is more peaceful.

Rising Prices

Certainly nomads have had to adjust to rising prices.

For example traveling shorter distances, free camping and shopping for cheaper fuel and food.

Nomads Have More Control

Above all we have a little more control over how we expose ourselves to the economic chaos we all feel.

Feelings

But what about feelings and intuition.

Mind In Both Worlds

To clarify I’ve always had my mind in both the real world and the world of feelings.

Metrics

I’m always looking for metrics and ‘proof’.

However I still have the same underlying feelings about the near future I talked about back when I was in Snow Mass in August. Check out that podcast here.

For instance more than one of my friends has recently actually used the word ‘chaos‘ to describe feelings.

Lunar Effect

And the closer we get to the lunar eclipse the stronger that intuition gets for some people.

Therefore in this podcast it’s time to talk about feelings and intuitions.

Hanging Out

Above all I am hanging out in Quartzsite, Arizona.

Quartzsite Is Special

That is to say this is one of those special and weird Arizona towns that I hope never has to endure the development of a Bougie Sedona or worse, Phoenix.

In addition Quartzsite’s sun faded and weather beaten hardscrabble businesses form a perfect backdrop for the town’s odd cast of characters.

In addition we Nomads are a perfect addition to the craziness here.

I love it!

Therefore get ready for the big experience in Lunar-Eclipse-Radio-Bob Davis Podcast 1027.

Inflation-For-Nomads-Bob Davis Podcast 1024

Inflation For Nomads

You might think inflation for nomads is something we don’t think about. However we nomads might be in the best position to deal with inflation. Learn more in Inflation-For-Nomads-Bob Davis Podcast 1024.

Hitting The Road

Firstly I have been hitting the road for extended periods of time since 2014.

Life On That Road Forever

Secondly about a year ago I decided to chuck it all and hit the road permanently.

Will Higher Prices Kill The Vibe?

However as oil and food prices rise some people wonder how long any of us nomads will be able to continue.

Surprise

But it might be surprising to learn I think nomads are in the best position to deal with rising prices.

Disclaimers

Certainly I have some disclaimers in this podcast.

No Politics

That is to say this podcast isn’t about politics.

For example I am not going to tell everyone what ‘the government’ should do to deal with this problem.

System Of Thinking

On the other hand I have been employing a system of thinking about these things that has yielded some observations that can help anyone concerned about rising prices.

What Might Be Going On

Even more I conducted an organized observation of grocery stores and truck stops from coast to coast in the last few months and I learned a few things about what’s going on with consumers.

For Nomads

Finally for nomads the real question is where the most significant price increases are coming from and how long they can last.

Changing Up The Vibe

In short the ‘go where my intuition sends me’ vibe is the first casualty.

What’s The Mission

Moving further along that line of reasoning the only task left for me is the mission for the second full year of nomad life.

Slowing Down

And slowing down the velocity of travel.

Careful Planning

Above all careful planning and controlling expenses suggests nomads can get through this insanity and prevail.

Pollyanna

In conclusion there’s something about then nomad experience that allows us to forget the rest of the world.

For a time.

Reality Breaks In

Every now and then reality breaks through the bliss.

Most importantly this doesn’t have to be a death sentence for the mission or the experience.

Only The Disciplined Can Be Truly Free

In short what is required is a disciplined way of thinking and operating to stay on the road and in the flow.
