Bougie Sedona Arizona

Firstly if you like spas, hair and nails, pretentious art and Tortellini then Bougie Sedona Arizona is for you. Learn more in Bougie-Sedona-Arizona-Bob Davis Podcast 1023.

A General Store And Shacks For Hippies No More

Secondly many remember when Sedona was a General Store and a few shacks where hippies lived.

Welcome To Myrtle Beach

However these days Sedona is more like Myrtle Beach than Arizona.

Bottom Of The Barrel

And Myrtle Beach is the bottom of the Barrel.

True West?

Even more locals and old timers remember when all these towns around here were true western mountain towns.

How Picking Up My Mail Became A Trip Through Newport California

Most importantly I came to Sedona to pick up my mail!

But even the mail effort did not work out here.

Some Great Campgrounds Though…In The National Forest

On the other hand I found some great National Forest Campgrounds Between Bougie Sedona and what some even call Bougie Flagstaff.

And I was able to stay up there for three days.

Day Areas Crowded

In addition there’s so much great hiking up there even the day areas are crowded.

In Season…Or Not

Therefore if you’re coming during before or after the season expect LA level traffic jams

Lots Of Pretty People There

Certainly the good news is lots of really good looking people sitting in their two hundred thousand dollar Mercedes Coupes and Porsche Cayenne’s.

Welcome To The Jersey Shore

Consequently one can only accept that these once western towns have become just like Orange County California, or even worse the Jersey Shore.

In the same vein you expect traffic jams and saltwater taffy on the shore.

Even the locals think it’s gone way too far. You’ll hear them in Bougie-Sedona-Arizona-Bob Davis Podcast 1023.

Kitsch

On the other hand you don’t expect that level of kitsch in the mountains of Arizona.

We All Want An Experience

Finally everyone wants a unique experience these days.

Camping. Hiking. Breathing the fresh air.

These ‘wants’ have become ‘needs’.

Just Not This Experience

In short this development question comes up again and again in my travels.

The Search For The Unspoiled West Continues

We all have to travel to the most remote sections to find what one might think of as unspoiled.

To sum up I get it.

I’m not against people making money.

Or the idea that certain things are necessary in small towns.

Pave Paradise…

But I think there’s a real question and concern about development destroying whatever remains of the myth and reality of what once was…

The Old West.

RV Entrepreneur Summit 2021 Means Community

Most important thing about the RV Entrepreneur Summit for 2021 is community. Learn more in RV-Entrepeneur-Summit-2021-Bob Davis Podcast 1016.

Re Examining The Suburban Life

Above all it seems to me people are re examining the standard suburban life story more and more these days.

Everyone Wants A Way Out

Firstly as housing becomes more expensive and jobs just don’t seem to be what they used to be everyone is looking for a way out.

Choosing A Digital Nomad Lifestyle

Secondly many have chosen a remote work, digital nomad lifestyle.

Going Mobile

Consequently that means going mobile in some kind of RV. Trailer. A big Class A. Or a smaller Class C. Still an even more manageable Class B or Sprinter Van of some kind.

Even more hitting the road in some kind of hybrid vehicle. Some are new. Others are not so new.

Not New

Certainly this is not a new trend.

Banking On Growth

However some are banking on the idea that this lifestyle is growing by leaps and bounds.

Campsites

For example finding campsites especially for the big fifth wheel trailers this summer has been very difficult at times.

Podcasts and Summits

Meanwhile Heath and Alyssa Padgett have been doing the RE Entrepreneur Podcast and Summit for a few years now. Click here to find information on both.

New Venture In Colorado

These days they’re getting off the road for awhile to work on a new venture and a new idea in RV Campgrounds. I’ll tell you more in RV-Entrepeneur-Summit-2021-Bob Davis Podcast 1016.

Don’t Do This Alone

More importantly one of the sayings of digital nomads is ‘Don’t Do This Alone’.

Three Couples

Therefore I decided to interview three couples here at the summit in Colorado, about their experiences and dreams. Of course Heath and Alyssa join us at the end of the podcast.

We Need Everything

In addition this burgeoning class of mobile workers and entrepreneurs need everything.

Especially Campsites

We need campgrounds, Internet Access, help with vehicles. Certainly community and other nomads to collaborate with.

And especially these days, camp sites.

All Kinds Of People

And you meet all kinds of people doing many different things at this kind of summit.

What’s The Takeaway

The big takeaway?

Even in a world that doesn’t make sense anymore…

Dreams do come true.

Two-Worlds-In-Snowmass-Bob Davis Podcast 1015

Two Worlds In Snowmass

Above all in Two Worlds In Snowmass you’ll get to spend some time with me in my weekend of solitude. Even more we’ll get to talk about the fear and uncertainty gripping American right now in Two-Worlds-In-Snowmass-Bob Davis Podcast 1015.

Contemplating a Tale Of Two Cities

Most importantly when I am on the road I do not feel the anxiety.

Feeling The Vibe

But when I stop to visit stationary friends I feel it.

Sharing Feelings Again

Even more I wouldn’t be worth my salt if I did not share how I feel in these podcasts.

Hanging Out By Myself

Consequently on a night we were supposed to spend hanging out and talking I am sitting on a ridge listening to the Coyotes talk.

Grateful

Firstly I am grateful for the opportunity to experience a truly beautiful place and a beautiful setting.

Wondering Why

Secondly when an opportunity like this drops in your lap you find yourself wondering why.

Because Why

And maybe it’s just because, right?

Perfect Time Alone

On the other and I can’t help but feel the powers that be decided it was time for me to have some perfect time alone.

No distractions.

Now What?

Meanwhile what to talk about?

Certainly I could do a travelogue podcast.

How I got here.

Where I’m going next.

Locked In Fear And Uncertainty, and Me

However there’s something about being forced to sequester because an entire village is locked in fear and uncertainty.

Moreover once I got in touch with my feelings there was concern for my friends.

Some Kind Of Climax Is Coming

And a nagging feeling we’ve all started up the hill toward some kind of climax, with all this crazy stuff going on in the world.

No Politics or Judgements

Finally my listeners and subscribers know I don’t bother with politics anymore.

Too triggering and divisive.

Pie Charts and Preferences Be Damned

In addition I don’t understand why we have to be a nation of pie charts with forty percent thinking one thing and forty some percent thinking something else.

Back Roads Mean Peace and Solitude

In short, on the back roads there isn’t any of that. Just peace. And solitude.

Rural America I see You

Likewise I travel through communities and places no one ever sees, reports on or cares about.

Those places don’t feel like Snowmass right now.

Up Here With Coyotes and A Fire

And as a result I am up here with the coyotes howling and my thoughts.

Perfect time for a podcast.
