Is the United States a failing country when it comes to morality? What was our morality like in other times in US History? Is it moral to suggest war ‘should’ be more democratic so that we all sufffer destruction and death equally? Is it true that immigrants make more over a lifetime than Americans, and that if you’re a poor native born American, it isn’t your fault? And what of virtue and morality? While Americans struggle to hang onto their houses, cars and put food on the table, religious authorities in Roman bejeweled palaces, and behind crystal lecterns tell us we are amoral, and lack virtue. Memorial Day Weekend Update. It is memorial day weekend, which usually means a long drive back from the lake. Since The Bob Davis Podcasts normally updates listeners on the key stories of the coming week on Sunday night/Monday morning, this podcast is all ready for the drive home. On the US Economy, the story line has been ‘winter’ since the northern tier of the US went into a deep freeze last December. Now ‘suddenly’ and ‘unexpectedly’ retailers aren’t meeting goals and consumers aren’t very confident. The expected ‘rebound’ from winter’s woes hasn’t materialized. What’s happening. Is inflation taking its toll, or is it deflation? Why is the price of fuel and food going up? The darling of the left, Thomas Piketty is on the hot seat for … some pretty serious mistakes in his modeling. Turns out ‘inequality’ may not be as bad as he thought it might be. The President went to Afghanistan as a prelude to a week of trying to defend and take back the high ground on his foreign policy, while democrats call him detached, flat footed and incompetent. Memorial Day Weekend 2014! Some selected top stories for your trip to the lake this weekend. Or, where ever you’re headed. A Super Bowl For Minneapolis in 2018. Aren’t we happy. The question is, will the 450 million dollars (plus) Minnesotans are on the hook for be a net gain, or a net loss, when the costs are factored in. Not to mention the drug dispensing (alleged) NFL always begging for so many subsidies it would even make Cliven Bundy blush. Don’t expect the media in Minneapolis-Saint Paul to tell you the truth about the Vikings Stadium, the grocery clerks running these media outlets are terrified of the NFL and the Wilfs. Meanwhile, those sanctions against Russia are working so well, Putin has been driven into the arms of China, and now all three are making nice with Iran. And, the VA is such a mess the President is ‘madder than hell’, but how does he take down his favorite example of Government Run Health Care? That’s why no one is getting fired at the VA. Say goodbye to real people taking your order at MacDonald’s, cause they’re trying to form a union.
