Nothing-Like-A-Campfire-Bob Davis Podcast 1017

Nothing Like A Campfire. Nothing!

Firstly one of the gems of wisdom from nomad life is There’s Nothing Like A Campfire. Every night. Join me around the campfire in Utah’s Canyon Lands in Nothing-Like-A-Campfire-Bob Davis Podcast 1017.

Secondly these days we’re all so stressed out it’s hard to find peace.

Two Things Bring Me Peace

Above all two things bring me peace. Driving and sitting in front of a campfire.

In Front Of A Fire

Therefore in this podcast I find myself in front of a fire. Again.

Perfect Time

Consequently it’s a perfect time for another podcast.

Very Important

In fact I can’t tell you how important having a campfire every night is.

While it seems silly to say such a thing in fact if I were a life coach I make that recommendation to all my clients.

I Wish Everyone Could Have Them

In the same vein campfires, travel, vistas and empty highways are so meditative I wish everyone could have them.

Every. Day.

Happiness Is…

Even more a long time ago someone said to me, “Happiness is a clean windshield and a full tank of gas”.

I couldn’t agree more.

Struggling In America

Meanwhile people continue to struggle the changes wrought by the pandemic.

In short I don’t think it is possible to over estimate the damage to the American Psyche in these times.

2020 Sucked and 2021 Might Be Worse

Certainly many of my friends and myself have struggled with grief or illness in 2020.

Life Has Not Been Easy

In short life has not been easy lately, my friends.

Talk It Out

There isn’t a better place to talk it out than a campfire. Especially in this setting. Join me in Nothing-Like-A-Campfire-Bob Davis Podcast 1017.

The West Is The Best

Finally you guys know I have been all over the country this year.

Moreover I’ve loved my trips out east, and across the Midwest.

But I can’t get enough of the West. Colorado. Arizona. Utah.

Navajo Nation

And especially the Navajo Nation with it’s straight highways that stretch on seemingly forever.

Anticline Overlook

In conclusion I found the site of this particular campfire just off Highway 191 by the Anticline Overlook not far from Canyon Lands National Park. The campsite is a BLM site. One six miles in. The other about 25 miles in.

Never Want To Forget It

I am making a note of it here because I never want to forget it!

Sharing Some Peace

To sum up I record these podcasts around the campfire from time to time in the hopes that some of the peace I have been able to gain as the result of this nomad adventure will rub off on the listener.

Nomad-Travel-Delta-Madness-The Bob Davis Podcast 1011

Nomad Travel During Delta Madness

Firstly Delta Madness rules back home but on the Nomad Travel beat it’s different. I’ll tell you how in Nomad-Travel-Delta-Madness-The Bob Davis Podcast 1011.

Not Political

Secondly this isn’t some political podcast about reading between the lines.

No Judgements

Even more no judgements on opinions.

About Energy

Above all nomads may perceive energy differently.

And Travel

Because of travel.

At The End Of Our Energy Reserves?

Moreover I hear we’re at the end of our energy reserves.

Back Roads Are Different

But on the back roads it’s different.

More Resolve

I feel more reserve and resolve.

Take this podcast’s setting for example.

Summer Night’s Love ‘Em

Hot summer night. Just after a storm.

Peak Bliss

In short the bliss of a peak summer night.

Calm

As a result maybe that’s why I am so calm.

Back Roads Small Towns Different Energy

On the other hand travel through small towns on back roads yields a different energy from the interstates and cities.

The Earth’s Vibration

For instance being able to actually hear the resonance of the Earth’s vibration.

Yeah, it’s a thing.

Intensity In The Cities

On the other hand coming back into urban environments where you can feel the intensity is a thing too.

Fear and Uncertainty Rule?

Never underestimate the impact of fear and uncertainty.

Hit The Road

As a result I know if you’ve hit the road permanently you understand what I mean.

Never More Sure

To sum up I’ve never been more sure being on the road like this is what I should be doing.

Only Just Begun

In addition it feels as though I have only just begun to scratch the surface.

So much more to learn.

And see.

Here’s To The North East Trip

In the same vein I look back on the big loop I’ve taken across the North East and realize what an incredible trip this has been.

Now Headed West

In conclusion I am headed west and ready for the next adventure.

Summer Night Sounds

And if you’re stuck in the city just the sound of the summer night is enough to bring some peace.

Above all I’ll keep going.

A Kind Of Madness

In short I do feel what we’re living through is a kind of madness.

The Road As Protection

But life on the road enables me to avoid being touched by that madness.

Meanwhile I really do hope it’s over soon.

New-Mexico-American-Tibet-Bob Davis Podcast 995

Is New Mexico The American Tibet?

Above all the states I’ve visited New Mexico feels like the American Tibet. Details in New-Mexico-American-Tibet-Bob Davis Podcast 995.

Not Really Tibet But…

Firstly I am not suggesting at all that a US State would actually BE Tibet.

Lots Of Travel

However I’ve traveled a lot.

Secondly I never spent too much time in The Land Of Enchantment.

The Land of Enchantment For Sure

Certainly now I have begun to understand why New Mexico owns that motto.

Mountains

For example the Manzano mountains. Not the first thing you’d think of when you consider New Mexico.

Sunsets

On the other hand driving through these mountains and sunset was a mind blowing experience,

History

In addition maybe it’s the history in the state going way back.

Unique Experiences

But if the middle part of the state isn’t your thing there are other unique experiences waiting.

Albuquerque

I mention it but then, there’s Breaking Bad. So…

Roswell and Taos

Of course Las Cruces, Roswell, Santa Fe, and Taos.

Heading North and West

To clarify I took 285 North out of Roswell. connected up with 60 West, then to 41 North.

Hey Wait! This Is Like…American Tibet!

After riding along these US and State Highways I started to come to the conclusion New Mexico has a sort of Tibet like quality.

Vistas

For instance wind swept vistas at any time of the day. And the most mysterious of all, White Sands.

National Forests

During this part of the trip I ended up in national forest campgrounds in the Cibola, all the way up to the northern part of the state in the Carson National Forest. Not to mention some of the best Bureau Of Land Management sites I’ve seen anywhere.

Amazing.

Travel’s Real Value

Finally I’ve certainly talked about the value of travel.

Wander Without A Schedule

And yes, sometimes it feels spiritual. Especially when you can wander without a schedule.

In the same vein it’s the wandering.

Forget The Gotta Haves Just Go

Moreover the wandering without worrying about getting somewhere or the ‘gotta haves’ in life.

Happy Accidents

In conclusion sometimes those happy accidents make all the difference in the world.

To sum up I have never been to Tibet.

Meditation

However the wind, mountains, sunsets and the solitary nature of my own personal travel plans brought the Land of Enchantment up a notch in my mind.

Vast Distances and Views

Most importantly remember New Mexico travelers are dealing with vast distances. In addition a long history.

Overall a very different experience.
