Back Into The News. The News Cleanse is officially over, but there will be some changes on the podcasts due to lessons learned from it. What happened during the News Cleanse week? US Journalist James Foley got his head chopped off by Islamic militants (or, criminals, or thugs if you prefer). And, we’re surprised by this? And – gasp – that convoy of Russian military trucks painted white got into eastern Ukraine despite the red cross refusing to escort the convoy. Oh yeah, and the President played golf. After the guy got his head chopped off. At ease people. Go back to doing whatever you were doing. Nothing to see here folks. Meanwhile, the media keeps putting out noise. Fortunately Bob Davis is on it, to bring some clarity to these events, such as they are, and such as clarity is. An earthquake in Napa, California. The price of corn is down, which is bad for farmers, but good for steak eaters in the coming months. Fox Television is copying something from Bob Davis’ old radio show on KSTP. Bobovia will become a reality show called Utopia. You’re welcome, Fox. The Minneapolis Tribune is now taking its stories from the Bob Davis Podcasts, doing a big spread this weekend about gentrification in Uptown (where did they get that idea). You’re welcome, as well. Ebola! Can Ebola be transmitted through the air? Are Republican Congressmen spreading panic by suggesting illegals coming from countries with a history of Ebola outbreaks, could bring the disease into the United States? Is it wise to bring Ebola infected Americans back to the United States for treatment? Is the outbreak a ‘false flag’ attack, like everything else that happens? Do you know how to treat Ebola if you get it. Meanwhile, there are two potentially far more dangerous problems brewing with Russia and Ukraine, and The Islamic State. Russia has beefed up their troop strength on the border with Ukraine, while Armenia (supported by the Russians) and Azerbaijan (supported by NATO and Turkey) are clashing. The Islamic State has control of a Dam in Northern Iraq, and oil fields in Syria. What’s ‘The West’ doing? Nothing. What’s the remedy for US companies moving their HQ’s to low tax countries like Ireland and the Netherlands? How about an loyalty oath? Sound a little…fascist? It’s the latest suggestion from the Left on how to ‘make’ US Corporations pay their ‘Fair Share’. And what about the Economy? 4 percent GDP growth is good, but if you average 1st Quarter and 2nd Quarter growth you get about .9 percent. Still, moribund growth at best. While Obama can crow about it, we’ll see if he is crowing about it later this fall when 3rd quarter numbers are released. And, is the coldest summer in a long time depressing people? A podcast that started out as a ‘start-your-week-off’ update detoured into pet peeves about right/left politics in the US today, moderate republicans, progressive democrats and the coverage of nothing but rhetoric, even in entertainment news. As more and more Americans get Obama Care the law is becoming more unpopular. Is Obama Care going to become a symbol of ‘Government Gone Wild’ throughout the political spectrum? A teaching moment? The Kennedy’s are ‘Kingmakers’? Really? They can’t seem to decide if they want Bill and Hillary Clinton, or Senator Elizabth Warren, who complains constantly about the ‘one percent’.
