Winning With Procrastination and Laziness

All things considered maybe we need to consider winning with procrastination and laziness. That is to say we’re over tasked and under appreciated. Details in Winning-With-Procrastinaton-And-Laziness-Bob Davis Podcast 1142.

Feeling Overwhelmed

Furthermore I am seeing plenty of posts from disaffected workers about how overwhelmed we feel.

Natural Man

Therefore in this podcast I first consider Natural Man or Ancient Man.

Chiefly the original hunter-gatherers in the mists of time.

For example the Celts…

Or the Plains Indian.

Clocks

In fact primitive clocks only go back to around 3500 BC. (By the way I announced the source for this statement as a ‘blogger’ named Jack Mason. In fact it is brand name for a watch!)

The Sun Moon And Stars

Balanced against our minute by minute and second by second world primitive man told time with the sun, the moon and the stars.

Technology

Of course the clock was a major technological improvement.

Teamwork

Even more I won’t go so far as to suggest that human beings are ever going to get anything done if they can work as a team to complete tasks.

However life today is getting a little ridiculous.

Time To Ourselves

To put it another way even at the dawn of the industrial age on through the 1980’s people had time to themselves.

Allow The Mind To Wander

Comparatively they had more time to allow their minds to wander.

Consequently while they were riding the train or bus…

Or driving to and from work…

Problem Solve

Their minds could rest and ‘problem solve’.

No Time For That Now

With this in mind the most compelling evidence for the use of procrastination and laziness as a tool for success is the fact that we have almost no time to do this these days.

Demand The Time

Hence we have to demand or take the time to be lazy and to put things off.

Laziness and Procrastination Are No Longer Negatives

With this in kind Winning-With-Procrastinaton-And-Laziness-Bob Davis Podcast 1142 is all about why procrastination and laziness are no longer negatives.

Recognizing The Need For Organization

So firstly while recognizing the need for organization and goal setting in business, family and corporate life…

What We Think We Have To Do

It’s also secondly realizing most of what we think we have to do isn’t really necessary.

Summer By The Lake

Finally the more I sit by the lake this summer…and to simplify.

Nightly Campfire

And mediate on the nightly campfire…

Happier

The more I think giving ourselves permission to win with procrastination and laziness the happier we will be!

Let Our Minds Work In The Background

In the final analysis I think a lot of the work of life takes place when we allow our minds to wander and attack a problem subconsciously.

Controlled By Modern Devices And Nonsense

Having said that often the problem is our devices and so called demands of life won’t allow our minds to work.

Given these points I understand why people demand remote work options and enjoy it so much.

In essence it’s time to realize if you put something off so you can be lazy…

You’re not a bum.

In fact you might be the smartest person in the room.

Value-Persuasion-Disruption-Live At The Mall-Podcast 687

These days we seldom think about what is valuable. We want the newest. The latest. Consume. Enjoy. Move on. Spending a day at the mall makes me wonder what has real value today. In Value-Persuasion-Disruption-Live At The Mall-Podcast 687.

At The Mall

We’re at certainly one of the oldest indoor malls. Southdale Mall, in Edina, Minnesota. I used to come to Southdale a lot. Not so much anymore. While malls in general have fallen on hard times, Southdale is still home base for me.

Things Change And Stay The Same

Shopping at the mall pretty much like it always was. While decorations have changed the idea stays the same. Especially relevant is the idea that all the stores are more closely defined. Seems like more clothing and accessories than back in the day of the JC Penny on one end of the mall, and Sears on the other. We’ll talk about it in Value-Persuasion-Disruption-Live At The Mall-Podcast 687.

If That’s All There Is My Friend Then Let’s Keep Dancing

What is valuable to us these days? Many things are disposable. Software and hardware upgrades feed buying the newest and latest. The idea of a waffle iron or heavy coat that lasted a lifetime is in the past. We discuss real value in Value-Persuasion-Disruption-Live At The Mall-Podcast 687.

Brand Names and Quality

Words like Value evoke brand images in every generation. For some it’s a car, or a consumer item. For others value triggers thoughts of clothing, an accessory or something that seemed to last forever. Real value though, can also be intangibles. Attributes attached to people. ‘Things’ we have to earn.

Missing Intangibles

Seems like these days so called intangibles are taking on a great deal more significance. We miss integrity, trustworthiness and respect. We crave time and forget the value of health and the people we care most about.

Beautiful Downtown Fill In The Blank

Malls are designed to evoke feelings and images of the old time markets. Walking through the mall is supposed to feel like the old time main street and its row of shops. The watchmaker and jeweler, tailor and shoe store, outdoor store and record shop. The texture and surfaces make us feel comfortable and somehow like we’re at home.

How Do You Spell Happy?

In conclusion I could suggest that the ‘things’ that make us feel secure and happy aren’t things at all. So, in Value-Persuasion-Disruption-Live At The Mall-Podcast 687, some thought starters for your Christmas and New Year’s season about what’s really important.

Misinformation Disinformation Red Alert-How To Cope-Podcast 669

Walk and Talk Podcast focusing on all the bad coverage of recent events. Late night. Moonlight. The smell of fall in the air. Perfect setting to try and sort all this out. In Misinformation Disinformation Red Alert-How To Cope-Podcast 669.

Lies and Fairy Tales

The theme of these podcasts has always been the fact that most of what passes as ‘news’ is opinion. These days though, the fairy tale nature of news coverage has reached a new level of mendacity. This time it’s digital media.

Digital Media Is A Sea Of Disinformation

That’s right. Anyone you talk to can give you a dissertation on the failure of the so called mainstream media to ‘do their job’. Almost no one talks about the failures of digital media. Especially You Tube ‘correspondents’. We’ll talk about it in Misinformation Disinformation Red Alert-How To Cope-Podcast 669.

New Sources Require New Diligence

I watch a lot of You Tube stuff these days. Apparently so do many Americans. You Tube is the source of a great deal of what the American Public thinks it ‘knows’. While entertaining, You Tubers pump out a steady stream of false flag attack stories, end of the world proofs, predictions about the future, and ‘inside’ stories that can never be fact checked.

Aliens and False Flags

We’re walking around with a lot of nonsense in our heads when any new thing happens. Las Vegas? North Korea? Some kind of legislative initiative? We think we live in a society with a free exchange of information, but what do we really know about these things? In Misinformation Disinformation Red Alert-How To Cope-Podcast 669.

It’s A Ken Burns World

The world does not sluice down into a documentary series with music and pictures. Historians spend years studying events. New information changes conclusions. Building a framework to understand it all requires reading real books about real history. A framework also comes with experience and life.

And every now and then, maybe a quiet walk on a tree lined, leaf covered path on a beautiful fall night.
