YouTube’s Hogwash Motherload-Bob Davis Podcast 815

They used to say don’t believe everything you read. These days that maxim applies to just about any story. Especially when it comes to YouTube. We’ll talk about it in YouTube’s Hogwash Motherload-Bob Davis Podcast 815.

Love YouTube

Right off the bat, I love YouTube. Furthermore, I spend way too much time going down the rabbit hole of videos in my feed, based on videos I have watched.

Propaganda On YouTube

Some people love watching videos about how to install motorcycle parts. Some people love crazy theories about the end of the world and conspiracy theories. Especially relevant is my hobby of pointing out propaganda on YouTube. In addition, my questions about Americans joining less educated populations in believing mostly pure nonsense. Propaganda as a purpose. As a result, we’re gonna get into it in YouTube’s Hogwash Motherload-Bob Davis Podcast 815.

Sun No Longer Shining

Lately the motherlode of propaganda and other hogwash are videos from someone who claims to be a Doctor Claudia Albers. Moreover her claims get more absurd by the day. For instance, the sun is no longer shining. Our light comes from “sun simulators“.

I Just Got A Call and You Won’t Believe What’s About To Happen

In addition, videos by so called ‘people in the know’. The guy on YouTube who claims to “know someone” in the Defense Department, FEMA or some shadowy agency. “Hey Guys”, they chirp. “I just got a call and it’s about to go down“.

Hoodwinking America For Fun and Profit

Certainly these videos appear to be pure fantasy. Therefore I wonder how many people are hoodwinked into believing conspiracy theory and pure nonsense. Aside from making YouTube a vast intellectual wasteland, above all is there a rhyme or reason to this madness? I think there is.

If YouTube Is The Source How Do We Know What’s Real?

Considering the fact that YouTube is the second largest search engine, in the final analysis what is fact or fiction? Who funds these channels? What is their impact?

Finally if mistrust and confusion is the goal of propaganda, this particular current sample from YouTube is the Motherlode.

A Cold Day In LA. It might be said that it would be a cold day in LA before The Rolling Stone would have to completely retract one of its biggest stories, but it has happened in the wake of a review of the magazine’s UVa Rape story last year. The magazine blames a ‘fabulist’ story teller — the source — for the mistake. In reality, editors had to know they were publishing a story that did not adhere to any journalistic standard. Sources weren’t identified, or buttressed with other sources. The story of rape-crazy frat brothers sounded good, so what the hell. Let’s publish. Is this indicative of how the rest of the media operates? In California, the big story is drought. What’s not being reported is how the environmentalist elite in control of the state have fought one modernizing water project after another, over the years. Now, while rich Hollywood movie producers and actors water their lawns, the plebes are being charged extra for their water use. People like to decry the ‘fact’ that Congress gets ‘nothing done’ and ‘can’t work together’. Forget, for a moment that none of us are safe from the output of congress when it is ‘productive’, and that the general idea of law making should be to ‘do no harm’. President Obama likes to say Congress won’t work with him, and can’t get anything done either. So how is it the Vice President, Chief of Stafof and other minions at the White House are calling members top tell them the President will veto anything they might ‘produce’ which qualifies the fine print on the ‘Iran Deal’? This is how the President ‘works with’ Congress? Another big story line recently has been the ‘booming’ economy. A new employment report says the economy isn’t booming, in fact. Are we due for another recession? Finally, scientists are about to turn on the largest machine in the world. The Light Hadron Collector has been off for a couple of years, and will soon be back up and running. Get ready for earthquakes, Big Foot sightings, UFO’s and other weirdness. The Haunted Diner. On the road again, heading back up 15 North from Flagstaff, Arizona to Butte, Montana. At a stop in Pocatello, Idaho a server at Elmer’s Diner informed me it was haunted. Hear the story and get a brief audio ‘tour’ of the kitchen and freezer where the offending spirit ‘lives’. It’s a big, wide country. That’s the message that is being continuously reinforced in this road trip covering Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota and Minnesota. There is great diversity in our people, and our pursuits of happiness. There is still great untouched potential in The United States. When a person gets out and really sees the country, that potential is obvious. Too bad pundits, politicians, commentators and others are too busy flying in their private jets. They might be surprised by what they see. The ‘On The Road’ podcasts are being received very well, but to avoid every podcast being simply a ‘travelogue’ the effort to add topical content continues. The three big stories are Scottish efforts to break away from the British Commonwealth, the rapidly unraveling Obama ‘strategy’ to ‘degrade’ and ‘defeat’ ISIS, and the media’s penchant for making predictions about the election outcome, before it actually happens. The story line on the Scots is; The independence movement proves people are tired of ‘nation-states’ (even though the Scots are essentially forming a new one). Perhaps it suggests people are getting tired of federal governments attempting to control our lives; and when we have a vote, we vote to shut the federals up. It’s not funny, but the President’s troubles with the ISIS strategy are only just beginning. After the President promised ‘no troops on the ground in Iraq’, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs is suggesting there could be troops in Iraq. Meanwhile, the US is sending troops into Africa to battle Ebola? Finally, more and more ‘pundits’ (the same people who fly around the country on private jets rather than get down among the people) are convinced the US Senate will change leadership in November. What did your momma say? “Don’t Count Your Chickens Before They Hatch!”. The Republicans need to win 6 senate seats, and 7 would be nice for a solid majority. Many of the key races they have to win are neck and neck. If Republicans want a wave, they’d best get all hands on deck to make it happen. Just sayin’. Finally a UFO encounter on a lonely dark road in Hamer, Idaho? Sponsored by Autonomous Cad. Thanks to Gamers Cafe and Casino in Butte, Montana for an awesome Chef’s Salad, and very fast (and free) WIFI.
