Summer in November

Second we’re live in Virginia on a perfect summer like morning.

Living Life On The Road

So it’s time for an easy talker in a continuing report on living life on the road.

Best. Idea. Ever.

Certainly I am still sure getting rid of everything I owned and hitting the road is still the best idea I’ve ever had. For me!

Pure Bliss

Above all those moments considering my new found freedom are pure bliss.

And Some Pain

On the other hand making silly mistakes can end in a lot of pain.

What’s The Mission On The Road

These days I find myself thinking more deeply about the actual reason for my decision to hit the road.

Experienced Traveler

Most importantly I felt called in some way to do this. Certainly I’ve traveled a lot in the last few years. Sometimes for months at a time.

Life On The Road

So I am no stranger to life on the road.

Home?

On the other hand I always ‘had’ to come ‘home’.

Home Is Here. Now.

Now home is where I happen to be on any given day.

Freedom?

Many people i talk to yearn for that kind of freedom.

Reason For the Adventure

However for me, there has to be a reason for this adventure. Find out why I say this in Nomad-Life-Pleasure-Pain-Bob Davis Podcast 966.

What’s The Mission?

To sum up, this is an adventure. This is a mission. I’m just not quite sure what it is right now.

Finding It Together

In conclusion I guess I’d say we’ll find it together. In a sense that’s what these podcasts are all about…and that’s my pleasure!

Not to mention enjoying an endless summer this winter.

Taking My Time Isn’t Easy

Most importantly if you know me you know taking my time isn’t easy. At all. In addition my subscribers know I am no stranger to travel. However now that I’ve gone full gonzo nomad the idea of taking my time has new significance. Learn more in Taking-My-Time-Isn’t-Easy-Bob Davis Podcast 963.

Heavy Travel For 6 Years

First of all I’ve been traveling a fair part of the year for the past 6 years. So choosing to hit the road permanently seemed to be a natural development if not a bit extreme.

No Plan Is The Plan

Second of all aside from planning the actual highways and back roads to take on travel days, no plan IS the plan.

Pace Of Travel For Type A’s

Therefore sitting in a state park in Indiana recently gave me some time to reflect on how the pace of travel should be different if you live on the road.

Stupid Mistakes

Even more when I am pushing to get from one place to another that is when I make stupid mistakes.

In The Now

Above all it becomes necessary to remind myself it’s all happening in the now.

I mean literally

No Home To Go To

Certainly I don’t have to go ‘back’ home at any time. so I should be able to take my time, right?

Zen Is Easier Said Than Achieved

On the other hand for type A individuals that is easier said than done.

Letting Go A Little

As a result this is something I have to remind myself of almost constantly. I am not giving up. Maybe just letting go a little.

Yes There Is An Overall Plan

To clarify there is a plan. I’ll let you guys in on some of it in this podcast.

But it is a loose plan.

Minute Details

I’ve never been one to plan things down to the minute details. However I can get pretty intense when things don’t work out exactly as I planned.

Finally I am sure more and more ideas like this will become clearer and ‘gel’ as they say, as time goes on.

It’s all very new to me right now.

Back Roads Forever

Second of all there’s travel always on the back roads. I’ve certainly done my fair share of it. Even more travel in a Twenty year old ambulance with very few comforts of home.

Hit The Road

That is to say I decided to get rid of everything I own and hit the road. Forever.

Few Comforts

Above all that means hitting the road with a camp stove, hammock and a few other ‘comforts’.

Crazy? I’ve Been Tested!

Certainly people think I am crazy. Where do you get your mail? What do you do when you want to sleep in a bed? How can you function without a toilet and a shower?

New Comforts

Well. I have a toilet. I have a Jet Boil. A camp stove. An awesome new sleeping bag from REI. Stuff like that.

First Podcast Of The Rest of The Podcasts

Because this is the first podcast of the rest of the podcasts, the rest of your questions will be answered going forward.

Time To Take Action

Most importantly I made this decision because it is time to take action. Learn why I am doing this in Full-Gonzo-Nomad-Bob Davis Podcast 959.

Meeting The Future Together

Finally I plan to maintain my business networking contacts in Minneapolis and Saint Paul and the Upper Midwest. On the other hand there is so much more on the back roads. We’ll meet the future together.

Leap Into The Unknown

In conclusion this is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. A huge leap into the unknown.

Feels Wonderful

In the same vein getting rid of everything but essentials and driving away from an empty house feels wonderful.

Might try it sometime!
