Great Summer

Above all this has been a great summer.

For one thing nomads can move.

Avoided Heat

Therefore I’ve been able to avoid most of the heat.

In fact sometimes Ive been downright cold.

Places

On the other hand I have quite enjoyed all the places I’ve seen and stayed this summer.

Spring

As I have said before I left Arizona in late March.

And spent most of the spring in the shores of a cool Wisconsin lake.

Eventually it was time for travel.

Summer

Firstly heading across a sea of green fields on back roads. My podcast about that experience is here.

Back Roads Vibe

All in all my love of movement and back roads has been renewed.

While this may be true I have been making an effort to stay long enough here and there.

That is to say going out to actually see what is going on in rural America is worth the trip.

But I am always surprised by the contrast of Urban Blight and the abundance of farm states.

Hitting The Road Again

Above all I have been stationary for months camped out on a Wisconsin lake shore.

So hitting the back roads for pure unfettered travel is fantastic.

New York State On The Horizon

I am henceforth headed to New York State to pick up my lithium power station from the Campulance Man.

Off Grid

I am truly off grid afterward heading for New York’s Pioneer district.

Love It

Thirdly this is what I do and I love it.

All in all I love traveling this way…

Learning

Furthermore I find opportunities to ask questions and learn.

Soul Killing Mind Numbing

Comparatively air travel and the interstates can be soul killing and mind numbing.

I do what I do for that reason.

Firstly I get a lot of questions about my life as a nomad.

Indeed I found day after day of preparation and shows left little time for cool down back in the day.

Forgotten Intensity

Even more years of this kind of intensity is something I had forgotten.

Until my first year of nomad travel.

Ping Ponging

Undeniably and unabashedly ping ponging back and forth across the United States.

Of course loving every minute.

Unlike that first year subsequent years have seen me slow down and take my time.

Hence discovering this concept of time and space.

Key Life Decisions

With this in mind decisions we make for ourselves can seem selfish or even crazy.

It’s only afterward the benefits become clearer.

And on balance I think a lot of the introspection this summer is tied to that day I decided to go.

Eventually I carved out the time.

Only afterward realizing it was also space.

No Orthodox Lifestyle

Finally I never wanted to live a so called orthodox lifestyle.

With this intention came the road and experience.

And time.
