Overdoing Yoga-Yoga Overload-Every Damn Day-Podcast 761

These days I do so much yoga I have added a podcast about it. Every Damn Day. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Can you do too much? We’ll talk about it in Overdoing Yoga-Yoga Overload-Every Damn Day-Podcast 761.

Yoga Challenge

At the studio where I practice we have something called ‘The Yoga Challenge’. This podcast details how a “Type A” person responds to a ‘challenge’.

Thirty in Thirty

There are different levels to the challenges. Some people do ten practices in a month. Some do twenty. Fewer do ‘thirty in thirty’, First time I signed up for the challenge I thought, there’s no way.

Winning At Yoga

Moreover, as a yoga addict from way back, I realized the way to ‘win’ the challenge is to double dip. ‘Winning’ is finishing first. Especially relevant is the reminder that there is no real ‘winning‘. You simply ‘do’ thirty classes in a month and that’s the challenge. But it’s fun and even more challenging to try and finish first. That means two classes a day. For some, it might mean three. How much is too much?

Teachable Moments

In addition to pushing yourself, the challenge and ‘race’ to the finish line has some very teachable moments. I talk about them in Overdoing Yoga-Yoga Overload-Every Damn Day-Podcast 761.

No Sleep

Yes I do the challenge every time the studio does it. It has deepened my practice. Yes you get sore. Yes you get tired. Who cares though, right? It has also raised my consciousness to the point where I don’t sleep and I am very energetic. What’s wrong with that?

Yes You Can

In conclusion we don’t want to cause injuries. However sometimes when we think we can’t we find out we can. By the way, these yoga podcasts are always done from the point of view of a lifelong student of yoga, not a teacher. These are my impressions as a humble student.

Black Seed Oil-Double Dip Yoga Challenge-Mind Over Matter-Mandela Effect-Podcast 725

It’s over one hundred degrees on Memorial Day weekend in Minnesota. These days, when it’s this hot what does a yogi do? We’ll talk about it in Black Seed Oil-Double Dip Yoga Challenge-Mind Over Matter-Mandela Effect-Podcast 725.

Life Lessons On The Yoga Mat

Especially relevant is the idea of learning life lessons on the yoga mat. Every now and then at the studio where I practice we have something called the Yoga Challenge. Students can do 10, 20 or 30 lessons in a month. Type A’s love a challenge. Even better, why not do thirty classes in less than thirty days? I share my experiences as a student in these podcasts.

Double Dip Challenge

To meet the challenge we have to ‘double dip’, or even ‘Triple Dip’. That means more than once class a day, usually back to back.  Some people think those of us who do this are crazy. However I have learned some important lessons pushing myself to ‘win’ the challenge.

Consciousness or Brain Power?

Most noteworthy is an increase in consciousness. If you feel giddy after one power yoga, hot yoga or yoga sculpt class, imagine how you will feel after two? We get into it in Black Seed Oil-Double Dip Yoga Challenge-Mind Over Matter-Mandela Effect-Podcast 725.

Mind Over Matter

Moreover after a few days of double dipping it’s really a challenge to keep going. I never understood the often heard phrase “mind over matter“. Thought it was some kind of voodoo. But something happened this week during my double dips that taught me once and for all what ‘mind over matter’ really means. What’s more, it’s a lesson that carries into life off the mat as well.

The Wonders Of Black Seed Oil

This month I have also added Black Seed Oil to my regimen. I discovered Black Seed Oil on You Tube. I’m telling all my friends about this stuff and they aren’t even paying me!

Not The Mandela Effect!

Finally, the overall effect of all this yoga is an elevated consciousness. I’ve been here before. You don’t sleep very much. Hearing and sense of smell is elevated. Ringing in the ears. You feel great all the time. Sometimes though, thoughts appear in your head that make you question reality. (Thankfully the challenge will be over soon and I will come back down to earth!) I’ll tell you about something called the Mandela Effect in Black Seed Oil-Double Dip Yoga Challenge-Mind Over Matter-Mandela Effect-Podcast 725.

Spring Has Sprung-Midnight Walk And Talk-Political Talk Reset-Podcast 715

In the Upper Midwest, spring has sprung. These days in my neck of the woods, we haven’t been able to spend much time outside. Walking in the night air makes me think about how much I’ve changed over the last few years. Find out how in Spring Has Sprung-Midnight Walk And Talk-Political Talk Reset-Podcast 715.

Walk And Talk Rules

The rules of the walk and talk are no preparation, no plan. A throwback to the years when I would walk late at night with my grandfather.

Time For Transition

Seems like spring is a transition. A great opportunity for us to reset our body clocks, as well as our thinking.

Shutting down the news feed, taking a break from social media and turning off cable news has been a theme in my podcasts. Sometimes it seems like cascading news events are difficult to keep up with.

The More Things Change…

Moreover, as I walk through my neighborhood, I can see that despite the breathless news coverage of details that probably won’t matter in a year, not much has changed in the real world. I’ve changed, though.

Rising Above The Debate

Most noteworthy, experience and especially Yoga have helped me rise above the partisan debates. These days I can actually be more of a ‘fair judge‘ of the hypocrisy of our institutions and politics. I’ll tell you what I see from my perspective. How you react is up to you. In Spring Has Sprung-Midnight Walk And Talk-Political Talk Reset-Podcast 715.

Hurtling Down The Tracks To Somewhere

In conclusion, something I talk about in this podcast is the sense I have that we are hurtling down the tracks toward some kind of clarifying turning point. I have no idea when we’ll get there or when we’ll get there.

I have read enough history and lived long enough to know that this level of rancor and venom usually do not lead to good decisions or policy making. That suggests at some point, someone will make the kind of mistake that produces major shockwaves.

Midnight Walk

Take a break from the paid shills of the two political parties, and the endless and baseless predictions of future events by talking heads and personalities. Take a midnight walk with me and drink in a spring night.
