Sick-Of-Myself-Bob Davis Podcast 1030

Sick Of Myself

Firstly how do you journal? I record voice notes. Then months later I transcribe them. You know where this is going right? After 6 weeks of transcribing I am pretty sick of myself. Learn more in Sick-Of-Myself-Bob Davis Podcast 1030.

Inventory and Review

Secondly there is no better way to inventory and review what’s going on in your life.

Kept Journals

Most importantly I have kept journals off and on since I was a kid.

Notebooks Give Way To Voice Notes

However recently with travel I’ve found the simplest way to express inner feelings is to record voice notes on my phone.

Transcribing

In the same vein the idea of transcribing those voice notes allows me to gain some perspective on what’s really been happening in the past year or so.

Tedious Work

But spending hours transcribing my voice gets a little tedious.

Now I am Sick Of Myself

Even more I am left with the being sick of myself.

Got It Done

But I got it done!

Of course I say this somewhat in jest.

Creative Projects

On the other hand transcribing voice journals provides me with a lot of basic material for future creative projects.

Stopped Down In The Desert

In addition I have had the time because I am stopped down in the desert.

Change From The Usual

To clarify usually I am barnstorming around the country.

Stay Put

But this winter I have decided to stay put

High Price Of Fuel

Firstly there’s the high price of fuel right now.

Having Fun Boon Docking

And secondly I’ve really enjoyed boon docking in the desert.

Hanging Out

Therefore I’m hanging out in this little South Western corner of Arizona for the time being.

Creative

Above all I’m rededicating myself to the creative side of my business.

Fun Experience

To sum up it’s quite a fun experience to get to know yourself a little more intimately.

Ups and Downs

Certainly the past year has had it’s ups and downs.

Story Arc

But there’s a real story arc there and I am pretty excited about some of the things I didn’t include in the podcasts during 2020 and 2021.

Scratched The Surface

Finally I feel like I have only scratched the surface on this nomad thing.

Prepare

Consequently it has been good to stop down, review, take stock and prepare for the future.

Walking-Nomad-Labyrinth-Bob Davis Podcast 1028

Walking The Nomad Labyrinth

Above all travel is a meditation so walking the nomad labyrinth is what it’s all about. What’s a labyrinth? Learn more in Walking-Nomad-Labyrinth-Bob Davis Podcast 1028.

Mission

Firstly when I pulled away from my house over a year ago to start this adventure I didn’t really have a mission. A reason for doing what I was doing.

Just Driving

Secondly I learned pretty quickly there is a meditative quality to just driving. Just watching the landscape roll by.

Coast To Coast

And this is what I did consistently for a year. Coast to coast. Border to Border. Crisscrossing the Midwest many times.

Slow Down

These days I’ve decided to slow down. Spend some time in places I’m interested in.

Finding A Footing

Therefore my podcasts have been a little more philosophical lately due to finding new footing in a slower travel approach.

Mission Statement For Second Year

Most importantly right now I am working to define a mission statement for the second year of travel.

Just Scratched The Surface

Because I feel like I have only scratched the surface.

Getting To Know A Place

Whether I am in some dusty Texas beach town or here in Quirky Quartzsite Arizona I am spending a little more time to get to know the town and its people.

Cue The Wanderlust

Certainly I haven’t lost my wanderlust.

New Orientation

And I have detailed my new orientation to higher fuel prices.

Campground Is Home

However I was a little surprised at how easily I’ve settled in on a Bureau of Land Management Campground just north of town.

More Time To Think

As a result I have some time to think in some different ways.

Urban Life

For example lately I’m interested in how the pressures and intensity of urban life doesn’t really effect the nomad.

Challenges

Certainly we have our trials and tribulations, but even these often become fun challenges.

Learning New Skills

Even more we’re always learning new skills, back road routes and about new campsites and rigs.

Internal Processes

Finally what has always interested me is the internal processes we nomads experience.

Common and Extraordinary

And I think those experiences are both common and extraordinary among the nomad community.

Walk About Talk About

In short this is what I have decided to talk about when I am relating my nomad experiences.

That is to say there are plenty of communicators talking about the best bike rack to buy for your rig, or where to get new tires and how to dump your tanks somewhere.

Not Easy

On the other hand these sometimes powerfully emotional experiences we have are not easy to put into words, let alone talk about.

Choices

But that is what I have chosen to do.

To sum up some of these musings are better than others, when it comes to a Podcast.

In the same vein it’s all part of the work.

Lunar-Eclipse-Radio-Bob Davis Podcast 1027

Lunar Eclipse Radio

Firstly some experts say the upcoming Lunar Eclipse might break things. We’ll talk about it in Lunar-Eclipse-Radio-Bob Davis Podcast 1027.

Chaos

Secondly I don’t think anyone can argue things feel chaotic right now.

Making Adjustments

To review I’ve talked about how the current economic reality requires nomads to make adjustments.

However for people living the so called ‘normal’ life in most urban areas the pressure is building.

End Of The World November 19th 2021

Even more aside from the usual talk about how November 19th’s eclipse will be the longest in duration there are those who say it will be the end of the world.

Desert Vibe

On the other hand out here in the desert the vibe is more peaceful.

Rising Prices

Certainly nomads have had to adjust to rising prices.

For example traveling shorter distances, free camping and shopping for cheaper fuel and food.

Nomads Have More Control

Above all we have a little more control over how we expose ourselves to the economic chaos we all feel.

Feelings

But what about feelings and intuition.

Mind In Both Worlds

To clarify I’ve always had my mind in both the real world and the world of feelings.

Metrics

I’m always looking for metrics and ‘proof’.

However I still have the same underlying feelings about the near future I talked about back when I was in Snow Mass in August. Check out that podcast here.

For instance more than one of my friends has recently actually used the word ‘chaos‘ to describe feelings.

Lunar Effect

And the closer we get to the lunar eclipse the stronger that intuition gets for some people.

Therefore in this podcast it’s time to talk about feelings and intuitions.

Hanging Out

Above all I am hanging out in Quartzsite, Arizona.

Quartzsite Is Special

That is to say this is one of those special and weird Arizona towns that I hope never has to endure the development of a Bougie Sedona or worse, Phoenix.

In addition Quartzsite’s sun faded and weather beaten hardscrabble businesses form a perfect backdrop for the town’s odd cast of characters.

In addition we Nomads are a perfect addition to the craziness here.

I love it!

Therefore get ready for the big experience in Lunar-Eclipse-Radio-Bob Davis Podcast 1027.
