Gratitude-Attitude-2022-Bob Davis Podcast 1035

Gratitude Attitude 2022

Above all we’re living through confusing times so having the Gratitude Attitude in 2022 is the right approach. I’ll tell you all about it in Gratitude-Attitude-2022-Bob Davis Podcast 1035.

Thanking Those Who Have Helped In 2021

Firstly I have a lot of people to thank for getting me and the podcast through a difficult year.

First Year As Nomad

Secondly if you want to hear more about my first year on the road permanently click here.

Second Year Of Nomad Experience Already Underway

But we’re now well into the second year of the nomad experience.

New Vibe

Already it’s a completely different vibe.

Constantly Moving In 2021

For example in my first year I traveled almost the entire year, stopping down only to deal with my mother’s death.

Slow Down

On the other hand I decided recently to slow down and get to know the places I’m interested in a little.

Discover Community

Consequently I have discovered the nomad community.

Quirky Quartzsite

In addition I’ve come to love the quirky place I have called home the last few weeks, Quartzsite Arizona.

And The People

Therefore as I look back over 2021 I see there are many people as well to be grateful for.

Clients and Contributors

Certainly clients and contributors to the podcasts.

Friends and Family

Likewise friends and family who have been very supportive throughout this process.

Some of 2021 Is A Blur

But some of 2021’s events are a blur to me.

Dreamy

To clarify there’s something dreamy about the nomad experience to begin with.

Process

Even more things like a death in the family take a little longer than a few days to process. Shockingly I don’t remember most of last winter due to dealing with my mom’s death.

Incredible Moments and Dreams

And yet there have been some incredible moments which also surprisingly feel like a dream.

Time Is Different For The Nomad

Finally my analysis is that the nomad does not experience time the same way as those back in the world.

Rome Bob, Rome

Certainly our concept of the New Year’s on January 1st goes back to Roman Times.

Lunar Calendars

Before that people operated on lunar calendars and told time with the stars.

Chinese New Year

As a result the so called Chinese New Year usually happens around February.

Farmers No More

Back in the day most of us were farmers.

Beginning Of Spring

Therefore the powers that be decided the New Year should also herald the beginning of the planting season.

Milestones

To sum up I am not one for marking these milestones.

Grateful

But I think it is good to recognize and be grateful for the good in life.

I am lucky to have so much of it mostly due to the people in my life.

Sick-Of-Myself-Bob Davis Podcast 1030

Sick Of Myself

Firstly how do you journal? I record voice notes. Then months later I transcribe them. You know where this is going right? After 6 weeks of transcribing I am pretty sick of myself. Learn more in Sick-Of-Myself-Bob Davis Podcast 1030.

Inventory and Review

Secondly there is no better way to inventory and review what’s going on in your life.

Kept Journals

Most importantly I have kept journals off and on since I was a kid.

Notebooks Give Way To Voice Notes

However recently with travel I’ve found the simplest way to express inner feelings is to record voice notes on my phone.

Transcribing

In the same vein the idea of transcribing those voice notes allows me to gain some perspective on what’s really been happening in the past year or so.

Tedious Work

But spending hours transcribing my voice gets a little tedious.

Now I am Sick Of Myself

Even more I am left with the being sick of myself.

Got It Done

But I got it done!

Of course I say this somewhat in jest.

Creative Projects

On the other hand transcribing voice journals provides me with a lot of basic material for future creative projects.

Stopped Down In The Desert

In addition I have had the time because I am stopped down in the desert.

Change From The Usual

To clarify usually I am barnstorming around the country.

Stay Put

But this winter I have decided to stay put

High Price Of Fuel

Firstly there’s the high price of fuel right now.

Having Fun Boon Docking

And secondly I’ve really enjoyed boon docking in the desert.

Hanging Out

Therefore I’m hanging out in this little South Western corner of Arizona for the time being.

Creative

Above all I’m rededicating myself to the creative side of my business.

Fun Experience

To sum up it’s quite a fun experience to get to know yourself a little more intimately.

Ups and Downs

Certainly the past year has had it’s ups and downs.

Story Arc

But there’s a real story arc there and I am pretty excited about some of the things I didn’t include in the podcasts during 2020 and 2021.

Scratched The Surface

Finally I feel like I have only scratched the surface on this nomad thing.

Prepare

Consequently it has been good to stop down, review, take stock and prepare for the future.

Inside-Virginia-Ice-Storm-Bob Davis Podcast 982

Inside Virginia Ice Storm

Firstly while most of the country struggles with winter weather I am inside a Virginia Ice Storm. Ever wonder what it sounds like? Hear it in Inside-Virginia-Ice-Storm-Bob Davis Podcast 982.

Stories From The Road

Secondly my rig Mobile Podcast Command has been through a lot. Time to share some stories as ice and branches fall all around me.

My Rig Is A Character Too

Above all my 2000 Ford Super Duty Ambulance is as a much a character in these podcasts as I am.

All About The Rig

In addition as a nomad I’ve learned it”s all about the rig.

A Name And A Story

And the rig has to have a name and a story. To hear the beginning click here.

Sound Of An Ice Storm

Most importantly as a Chicago native, I am fascinated with the sound of an ice storm.

Winter As A Way Of Life

Certainly Northern tier US States have more experience with winter weather.

Therefore clearing roads during snowstorms or getting power back on during an ice storm can be a challenge in the South.

Winter Not Part Of Virginia Lifestyle

In short severe winter weather is not a regular thing here in Virginia. In fact spring usually arrives in some form at the end of February!

Bitter Cold

I‘m used to the bitter cold of Chicago and the Twin Cities.

Mobile Podcast Command Loves Winter

In the same vein Mobile Podcast Command did its service as an ambulance in Wisconsin.

Desert Too

On the other hand Mobile Podcast Command has been through the heat of the desert, sand storms on the beaches. I’ll tell some stories in Inside-Virginia-Ice-Storm-Bob Davis Podcast 982.

Getting Stuck. Again.

Even more, I have been stuck at a political event during Iowa’s primaries. And stuck on the beach in Texas.

Through A Lot Together

Finally we’ve been through heavy rains and wind on the west coast and heavy snows on Wyoming mountain roads together.

Part Of The Adventure

In conclusion if we nomads love our rigs, it’s because they are as big a part of the adventure as we are.
