Midweek update! The big stories. As we head into the 4th of July Weekend, Obama gets ‘bitchy’. Do Americans really want a petulant President who blames everything on congressional ‘inaction’? What is the intent behind his tantrum in Minneapolis and in the Rose Garden this week? Is he channeling his inner ‘Elizabeth Warren’? Does the President have a sense of humor? It has come to light that the temperature data ‘warmists’ have been quoting are actually based on ‘models’. Not actual temperatures. What do the actual temperature data show? The answer may surprise you. A new disease threatens 30 million people and its not good. Step AWAY from the pastries, beer and hamburgers. Don’t tell First Lady Michelle Obama about this, but ‘binge viewing’ is becoming a problem for the world. The arrival of services like Netflix and Amazon Prime now make it possible to lay on the couch for an entire weekend, watching all the Breaking Bad(s). This is a problem? Eric Cantor loses his re-election bid to a Tea Party Favorite. Is the Tea Party still relevant? Updates on all the stop stories for the middle of your week. Did Cantor’s stance on Immigration hurt him or was it his moderate politics? Thousands of illegal immigrant teens are crowding into border crossings, and holding facilities in Arizona and Texas. Concerns about disease and criminal behavior abound. President Obama blames it on unrest in Central America but his own Customs officials say its because the parents of these teens know the US is granting Amnesty. Now the White House says Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel made the decision to exchange 5 Taliban commanders for US Army-deserter Bowe Bergdahl, held captive by terrorists since 2009. So much for ‘The Buck Stops Here’. Poll numbers on the President’s handling of the Bergdahl deal are really bad, especially among veterans. And the VA scandal has convinced more Americans to be concerned that soon citizens might be waiting, and perhaps dying, just the same as Veterans. Meanwhile, over 57 thousand US Veterans are still waiting for medical care from the VA. Finally, concerned about Global Warming? Find out what the latest hazard in Lake Superior is. Updating top stories for the week ahead. Former VA head Shinseki says he didn’t know about incompetence, corruption and coverups at the VA and so the President didn’t know either. Yet as many as 18 detailed reports have been placed on Shinseki’s desk – maybe the President’s too – since 2008. Was White House Press Secretary Jay Carney’s resignation announced the same day as Shinseki’s to draw eyes and ears away from the ‘When and What did you know’ question? The White House announces it has negotiated the release of a US soldier held since 2009 by Taliban, but he is referred to as a ‘Prisoner of War’. Is he? Did the US pay too high a price for the release of Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl? And what were the circumstances of his capture. Why was Secretary Hagel’s announcement of his release treated with stony silence by the troops in Afghanistan? This was political convention weekend in Rochester (republicans) and Duluth (democrats). While the democrats came out of their convention unified, the same might not be said of the Republicans. Looking ahead to primary season, one wonders what possesses the brains of  Republican insiders. El Nino, Oprah and George Clooney. Sponsored by Ryan Plumbing and Heating of Saint Paul
