State Of The Summer 2024

Firstly for this State of The Summer 2024 Report I don’t like to draw attention to negatives. But a whole month has gone by with no podcast!  Let’s talk about it in State-Of-The-Summer-2024-Bob Davis Podcast 1143.

Secondly much of my radio silence over the past few weeks is due to the fact that I have nothing to say.

With this is mind is it writer’s block?

Or am I lost in summer’s bliss?

Busy Summer

Certainly it has been a busy summer.

Of course a lot of socializing on the Wisconsin Shore.

Too Much Talking

What’s more a lot of talking.

Too much talking.

To be tired of talking is altogether strange for me.

But there it is.

On A Path

Balanced against canoe rides on the still lake and dinners around the campfire there’s a lower octave.

Accordingly we seem to be a on path.

With this in mind there doesn’t seem to be much more to say about it.

Won’t Chase Likes and Shares

In addition I don’t want to be the kind of content creator who mines his life and everyone in it to chase likes and shares.

Saving Some Of This Summer For Myself

Moreover there are some experiences I save just for myself.

The Lake’s First Signs Of Fall

After that as I watch the lake I feel the first signs of fall.

Time To Go

All things considered it’s time to go.

In short it won’t be long til I am back on the road.

Decisions About Fall Travel

All in all I’ve made two decisions about this fall and winter.

To that end which way to head and whether to camp alone this winter wherever I end up.

Crackling Summer

Summing up it’s been a summer crackling with observations, friends, food and some adventure…

No sooner than I have discovered I am exhausted from all of this…

Above all, in May of 2019 astronomers detected a collision of two black holes millions of light years from us.

However as the light reached us here on Earth, so did the disruption in spacetime.

Even more while these kinds of things are fairly common out there in deep space this collision was epic. Two giant black holes and one giant interstellar shock wave!

Certainly ever since Einstein we’re living in a new reality. We think of reality differently in the last one hundred years than we did a hundred years before the theory of relativity..

And I wonder whether these seemingly benign developments out there in deep don’t effect us here in time. Deeply. The Metaphysical community certainly thinks it’s possible.

In conclusion human beings are animals, and we are very small in comparison to the rest of the universe we live in. What if we are more deeply effected by changes in our gravitational and magnetic fields?

Second I don’t like using the term ‘civil war’ in the same context, but some very foolish people are.

In the same vein it’s time for some real talk about what’s going on and what it might mean.

Moreover I’ve done some pretty content rich podcasts lately about political realignment and presidential polls. It’s also time for a more relaxed conversation about serious subjects.

On the other hand when I do more relaxed podcasts I never know what I’m going to talk about.

Specifically what kicked off this talk are people buzzing about ‘civil war’ on social media.

Dangerous Talk

Most importantly I think this is very dangerous talk, even for so called analysts and commentators. We’ll get into it in Riots-A-Slippery-Slope-Bob Davis Podcast 951.

How The Draft Riots Ended

In addition I use an example from history about the New York City Draft Riots, as depicted in the movie The Gangs Of New York.

It Wasn’t Pretty

To clarify the book, “The Gangs Of New York” was written by Herbert Asbury. A part of the book focuses on the Federal Government’s response to complete anarchy in New York City during these riots, at the height of the Civil War. It wasn’t pretty.

A Lot Of Silly Talk

Above all we don’t need a lot of silly inflammatory talk right now. No matter where it comes from.

Yeah It Could Get A Lot Worse

Finally many of us find ourselves thinking about how tough things are right now. Certainly we can all agree that an actual civil war would make things a lot worse. Like, you can’t imagine how much worse.

Cavalcade Of Idiots

Can we please stop using that term to describe street violence and cavalcade of idiots on both sides responding to it.

Delusional America

In conclusion I have certainly talked about a delusional America. The fact that we’re on the cusp of a change in epoch. I don’t think any of us can say with any degree of confidence where we’ll be in five years.
