Answer-The-Call-Bob Davis Podcast 991

Hey! When Your Passion Calls Answer The Call

First of all I am so excited to be back on the road and answer the call. Life is short. When passion calls. Answer! Details in Answer-The-Call-Bob Davis Podcast 991.

Back Roads

Secondly I travel back roads unless there’s an emergency.

Amazing Two Lane Highways

ThereforeĀ in Answer-The-Call-Bob Davis Podcast 991 I also review amazing highways. This time I’ll look at some two lane options between western Virginia and south central Kentucky.

Life and Death

Most importantly if you follow the podcasts you know I’ve been dealing with the aftermath of my mom’s death.

Clarify

I mention this experience to clarify some key conclusions in this podcast.

Moving On

Certainly I don’t plan on belaboring this topic in coming podcasts.

Family Stuff Is Over

Above all I’ve been in Virginia for three months dealing with family stuff.

Back On The Road

As a result I was chafing at the bit to get back on the road.

Strong Passion

In addition the idea of following your passion feels very strong for me these days.

Answer The Call

Even more when your passion calls, answer the call.

Life Feels Long

In the same vein life feels like a long experience.

Vibe

Sometimes we wonder why we do anything at all. Especially when we aren’t vibing with it.

And of course we all have to do things we don’t want to do.

But I’m here to endorse the idea that doing something we don’t want to do for very long is not a good idea.

But Life Isn’t Long

Furthermore we don’t how long we have to create on this plane.

Geeked

Finally I am super Geeked about getting back out here.

Learn From The Road. A million things to talk about and a million more things to see and learn from.

More From The Road

So, more podcasts in the near future and more from the road.

Head West

Finally the plan is to head west with some visits here and there.

Ups and Downs

In conclusion following our passion isn’t without its ups and downs.

Smoothing It Out

However answering the call really does smooth out the good and bad days.

Here’s To…

Here’s to the sunny days, warm sun, and open road. And the Blue Ridge Parkway!

Waffle-House-Carb-Fest-Bob Davis Podcast 969

Waffle House Carb Fest

Firstly I have not been eating a lot since I hit the road. Time to join me live at the table in Waffle-House-Carb-Fest-Bob Davis Podcast 969.

Starving Myself

Secondly I did not know I was starving myself until I got dizzy.

Eating On The Road

Consequently this is a great opportunity for a podcast about eating on the road.

Smothered In Butter and Syrup

Moreover Hell yes I will have the hash browns, sausage, and scrambled eggs! And yes I will have the toast with butter. Even more I’ll take that waffle as well, smothered in butter and syrup.

Too Much Protein?

Certainly I was surprised to realize I was eating only protein and not very much of it at that.

Smoothie In The Morning – Steak At Night

For example a protein smoothie in the morning, energy bar at noon, and steak for dinner in the Walmart parking lot.

Pulling The Belt In!

Above all not a lot of carbs. Yes I lost weight. Yes I had to buy a new belt. But that’s good, right?

Questions Questions

Meanwhile people keep asking me questions about life on the road.

Where do you stay? What about RV Parks?

Grand Canyon or Truck Stop?

I see a lot of nomads posting great pics of the Grand Canyon on Instagram and Facebook. Or great hikes in the Great Smoky Mountains.

On The Beach

I have a few pics of me on a beach. However I am more of a truck stop, Walmart parking lot guy.

Work. Travel. Sleep. Do It Again.

For example pull into the truck stop and go to work on a podcast, or blog. Post it. Sleep. Get up and do it all over again.

Boondock

In the same vein I’ve certainly stayed at National Parks. In this podcast I highlight a Boondock on an abandoned beach in a National Park.

Parking Lots

But I love me a Walmart parking lot. I can get ice and a laundry bag the next day.

One Skillet Meals

Even more I am not above a one skillet meal in a truck stop parking lot, with the cook stove on the back of Mobile Podcast Command. A lot of people show off their luxurious vegan meals. One skillet lends itself to bacon and eggs.

Hash Browns Save The Day

But every now and then you need hash browns, a waffle, and some toast.

And more coffee.

Not For Everyone

Finally, my approach to nomad life isn’t for everyone but I think it’s better than touring antique shops and backing the Prevost into a 77 dollar a night RV Park ‘campsite’.

Almost-Perfect-Road-Trip-Bob Davis Podcast 882

Travel Is A Romance

I love to travel. I cover a lot of ground in a short period of time. All on back roads. This time it all came together. Learn why in Almost-Perfect-Road-Trip-Bob Davis Podcast 882.

Podcasting All The Way

Even more I’ve been podcasting the whole way. If you’re interested in where I’ve been and what it’s been all about, check out some of the travel podcasts here.

Back Home By The Fire

I’m home now here in Minneapolis and Saint Paul, so it’s time for a podcast from my home studio. Most noteworthy are the first impressions and takeaways from a trip that took ten days and covered thousands of miles.

11 States…Ten Days

Moreover all in the central United States. Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia and Virginia going out. North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky and up through Indiana and Illinois again, sliding through Wisconsin and Minnesota on the way home.

Like A Dream

First of all a complete ‘takeaway’ is improbable. It takes time for a trip to gel. There are so many experiences. What’s especially relevant today, might not be a few days from now.

Takeaways

Certainly I have some takeaways though and I share them in Almost-Perfect-Road-Trip-Bob Davis Podcast 882.

Back Roads Baby!

My back roads navigating effort came together almost perfectly this time. A few glitches here and there to be sure, but all in all, in conclusion I have to say it was one of the best trips I have taken so far.

The Heartland Is Not A Petri Dish

These days everyone wants to know what’s going on in America’s heartland. The media prefers to use statistics and tie ins to existing top line stories to make their points.

Learn By Going There

I prefer to go to places, actual towns and cities to get the feel of things myself.

Sick and Tired Of Washington DC News

Perhaps due to all of this gas bagging about the state of our nation and so on, more than one person remarked to me how sick and tired they are of political news.

When It Comes To Economy Some States Are Better Than Others

Maybe I pay more attention to the media than I should. One of the biggest surprises is the general prosperity of the central United States. In contrast to the states that have not adjusted their taxation rates and incentives to businesses, those that have seem to be booming.

Amazed and Humbled

I continue to be amazed at the beauty and scope of this country. Indiana on a cold misty morning. Winding mountain roads in West Virginia. A sunset drive up Minnesota’s Highway 61.

Through it all, Mobile Podcast Command just kept right on rolling!
