Live From The Political Wilderness!

These days the only way to see things clearly is stand back. Way back. I live in the high country. The wilderness. Learn more in Live-From-The-Wilderness-Bob Davis Podcast 949.

Been Here For Years

Firstly I’ve been here in the wilderness for years.

Best Approach For Listeners and Subscribers

Secondly I think the wilderness has turned out to be best thing for subscribers and listeners of this podcast.

Political Realignment

Because of my vantage point I see a big political realignment coming and I don’t have a dog in that race.

Trapped In The Roach Motel Of Politics

Even more those still trapped in the republican or democrat world might seriously think about the so called wilderness as a destination.

How The Party System Changes

Above all this podcast defines the party system and explains what realignment might mean.

Not Hearing What I Need To Hear

I have certainly said I am not hearing what I need to hear from the mainline political parties.

Land Of Political Confusion

During the time I have been in the high country the political confusion has only increased.

Nothing Seems To Make Sense

Likewise for many nothing seems to make sense anymore.

Hope For The Future

On the other hand there is a hopeful reason for this confusion. That’s what I want to talk about in Live-From-The-Wilderness-Bob Davis Podcast 949.

Forging A New Party System

To clarify I think the winner, or loser of the 2020 election may forge a new party system in the United States.

It’s As American As…

That is to say the political make up of the two main parties is about to change significantly. This has happened in the same vein in America several times since the 1790’s.

Partisan Commentators That Attack Their Standard Bearers Are Still Partisan

Finally I take some shots at commentators on one side the current divide as well as protesters on the other.

Our Political System Has To Change

To sum up it’s clear our political system has to change. We’re not addressing new technologies and the changes it brings. There’s been no real discussion of our approach to the rest of the world and our real economic problems or opportunities in this political season.

Something To Think About

In conclusion part of the mission of these podcasts is to give listeners and subscribers something to think about rather than to push you down a path.

Your Vote Is Your Business

I’ve always thought what you fight for and how you vote is your business and your business alone.

How-Much-Corruption-Can-You-Handle?-Bob Davis Podcast 868

How Much Corruption Can You Handle?

Suddenly the word ‘corruption’ is in the news these days. How deep does it go? How much corruption can we handle? Learn more in How-Much-Corruption-Can-You-Handle?-Bob Davis Podcast 868.

Pollyanna Lives Here

Most of us have grown up being taught a Pollyanna history. Back in the day it was justice for all, World War 2 and liberty.

These days our young people learn about civil rights, the environment and how much government can do to help.

Dark History Might Be The Real History

On the other hand there’s a much darker history. Especially when it comes to those who wield government power.

More Corrupt Than We Imagine

Above all I personally think our governments are more corrupt than we imagine. We’ll start by defining  the word corruption.

Two Definitions Of Corruption

Most important the first definition for corruption deals with money being exchanged for political favors and a lack of integrity. The second is what’s valuable to us politically. This definition suggests debasement or ‘corruption’ of original intent.

Corrupt For A Long Time

Above all, it’s no secret corruption in government has been with us a long time in the United States. Unfortunately, it really got its legs after Prohibition.

Epic Corruption Still With Us

In How-Much-Corruption-Can-You-Handle?-Bob Davis Podcast 868 I detail US Government corruption dating back to the Articles of Confederation. In conclusion, after prohibition, the story becomes an epic. And it still is. Here’s a link to Gus Russo’s books detailing the years of political corruption in the US as the direct result of prohibition. Critics say Russo’s analysis is guilt by association but I wonder if it’s more than that. Much more.

Finally Partisans beware, my reading of history suggests corruption, legal and illegal, doesn’t have a party preference.

Senator Elizabeth Warren says she’ll tackle corruption if elected. I wouldn’t hold my breath.

[Editor’s Note: This podcast is incorrectly numbered 868. Yes I know. Haven’t done 867 yet. That’s on the way.)

Podcast 493 – The Bob Davis Podcasts Radio Show 24

The Bob Davis Podcasts Radio Show 24. I’ve been doing a syndicated radio show for about 6 months. It is distributed through GCNLIVE.com. The Bob Davis Podcasts Radio Show 24 airs in Minneapolis on AM1280 The Patriot at 4PM on Saturdays. As we get new affiliates I will announce them.  People often ask me, “How do I hear the radio show”, so I thought I would post it as a podcast so you can hear what it sounds like. Another reason for posting it here as, syndicated radio shows are audio processed before they air on satellite, so they can be aired from the satellite by radio stations. As a result of all the audio processing the final product on the radio sometimes is not as good technically as the original. The great thing about podcasts – especially the Bob Davis Podcasts – is our attention to detail and specifically detail when it comes to audio processing and quality. I am posting the show here because I want people to be able to listen to it as it actually sounds, before all the processing for the satellite, and on the radio. It’ll give you a little idea of why I am such an evangelist for audio delivered on demand over the Internet. For listeners of the Bob Davis Podcasts, the weekly show condenses some of the content from the podcasts into a weekly radio show format. There is additional content not heard in the podcasts, especially the first segment and comments leading into each of the segments. This week I devoted a little time to the recent announcement by Senator Ted Cruz of Carly Fiorina’s new status as his ‘running mate’. Is this a good move? In this show we cover issues related to the ‘Just Getting By Economy’, a condensed version of my summary of the presidential preference primaries coming up, and some of the discussion this week on all the TV Binge viewing we all seem to do, which received a lot of great reaction. Thanks to everyone for listening to The Bob Davis Podcasts, thanks for checking out The Bob Davis Podcasts Radio Show 24, and let me know if you think I should post the show every week.
