Even more these days with high fuel prices putting a damper on travel I have been watching the markets like a hawk.

Finally I have to say I am seeing and hearing a lot of fatalistic talk these days.

Above all I don’t do very many podcasts now about topics beyond the nomad travel vibe.

Resignation and Negativity

Specifically and to clarify there seems to be a resignation to negative outcomes when it comes to the future and the world.

Past Is Present and Future

In addition financial prognosticators seem to have a penchant for saying past is present and future.

Or Is It?

Therefore I feel compelled to say I reject these notions.

Nomads Have Much To Teach The Rest Of The World

My experience has been, for example, that the nomad community has a lot to teach the rest of the country, whether they want to or not.

Work Together

That is to say I have seen people put aside differences and backgrounds to work together to solve problems.

Refuse To Quit

And refusing to quit until an issue is resolved.

The Future Is Dark

On the other hand I often hear people speak of our future as inevitably dark.

History Repeating Itself

Even more many of these advisors see the future as a consequence of ‘history repeating itself’…determined by fate.

Determinist

Moreover these determinist theories are spread by the very financial prognosticators people look to for information and direction when it comes to the future.

This Is How We Solve Problems Now?

In short we will never solve problems with this kind of negative and fatalistic approach.

People Power

However individuals and people have enormous power and the agency to solve problems if they can work together.

Finally my sense is that previous periods of change will pale in comparison to what we have just begun to go through, even though we’ve had plenty of warning.

I’ve often said we, our leaders and our systems are ill equipped to deal with this change.

Similarly lately China’s been blamed for feathering presumed Democratic Candidate Joe Biden’s nest and a host of military incursions and threats. Finally for ‘owning all our debt’, not true by the way.
