Offgrid In Trump Country

Firstly wouldn’t it be cool to live offgrid in a home that actually pays you? I am in Kentucky and my guest in Offgrid-In-Trump-Country-Bob-Davis-Podcast-964 builds these homes.

Rural Kentucky

Secondly rural Kentucky like most of rural America, is Trump country.

Stolen Election

Out here they think the democrats stole the election from President Trump.

Lots of Stories

Most importantly there are a lot of stories about ballots all over the country.

Jay Hamilton

But Jay Hamilton is unique.

Curious and Active Mine

Certainly Jay’s uniqueness is driven by his curious and active mind.

Lots of Fun

This is what makes spending time with him so much damn fun!

Benford’s Law

However when he applies his intellect to Benford’s Law and precinct level election data, sparks fly.

Election Fraud?

Above all many wonder about election fraud.

Nomad Adventures

The great thing about being a nomad is the opportunity to meet and talk with people like Jay Hamilton. You get to join me in this effort in Offgrid-In-Trump-Country-Bob-Davis-Podcast-964.

Big City Friends Wonder

Moreover my big city friends keep asking me what Trump supporters think.

Meet Jay

Therefore I give you Jay. I do not pass judgement on his theories. I’ll leave that to you.

We’re All Human Beings

In the same vein I have learned we are all human beings.

Some Very Nice People

When I was covering the democrat caucuses in Iowa, my Trump friends wanted to know was up with “those people”.

I noted the fact that many of the democrats I’d met were very nice people.

Check This Analysis

Finally I think everyone should check out Jay’s analysis of what could have happened in the 2020 election.

Getting Offgrid?

And if you are looking to get off grid Jay is your guy.

Media-Distorts-Poll-Results-Again-Bob Davis Podcast 932

Media Back To Its Old Tricks

Firstly the media is back to its old tricks. They are showing a shocking level of ignorance when it comes to political polls. Learn in Media-Distorts-Poll-Results-Again-Bob Davis Podcast 932.

Predicting The Future. Again.

Secondly we should be suspicious of a media with a penchant for predicting the future.

No Partisan Coverage of Election 2020 Here

More importantly I have avoided partisan criticism of the president. In addition I have refused to engage in the same kind of misinformation when it comes to potential presidential candidates. Now you understand why.

No Partisan Issue Advocacy Here Either

Moreover I refuse to advocate for partisan issues or tell listeners and subscribers what to think.

Political Polling Coverage

Therefore I am starting my political coverage of presidential polling for 2020.

State By State Reports

To clarify from time to time I will do some podcasts discussing recent polling on a state by state basis.

Ignorant Story Lines

Truth is, the story lines being created now may or may not be the eventual result. I’ll explain why in Media-Distorts-Poll-Results-Again-Bob Davis Podcast 932.

All About The Electoral Vote

Even more we choose our presidents through the electoral college. We do not vote directly for the office of president in the United States. This reality forces presidential campaigns to develop electoral strategies.

Divided? Really?

Above all we keep hearing how the United States has become a ‘divided’ country. It’s the Blue States against the Red States.

County By County Vote Totals

But county by county vote totals show the votes are often ‘blue’ or ‘red’ by pluralities, not majorities.

National Presidential Polls Are Useless

Finally citing national popularity polls, presidential job approval polls, or even national political preference is little more than a waste of time.

Another Close Contest, So Far…

In conclusion, the 2020 presidential race at this time looks like another close contest. Unless that reality changes it’s going to come down to some key states.

Still Not A Lot Of Polling Data For Battleground States

Meanwhile polling data is not available for all the so called battleground states.

Fantasy Reporting

In short don’t believe everything you hear.

(Editor’s Note: I refer to both candidates running as ‘presidents’. Obviously I meant President Trump and former Vice President Biden. In addition at the time of recording of this podcast¬† results of the Iowa US Senate Primary had not been released. Due to this, no polls were available on the race. The primary was held on June 2nd, 2020. I said no democrat had yet been selected in the Iowa US Senate Race, which includes Senator Joni Ernst as the republican incumbent. This was true at the time. Now Ernst has a democratic opponent. For the results go here.)

New Future Dead Ahead

First of all no one likes lock downs, wearing masks or worrying about what comes next. Even so we have caught a glimpse of a the future. Working from home. Video conferencing. Pivoting to on line services. There’s a new future dead ahead. Learn more in New-Epoch-Dead-Ahead-Bob Davis Podcast 926.

End Of An Era

I’ve already suggested we’re on the cusp of major change. Even more the end of an era.

Triggers Of Change Present Before The Pandemic

Moreover the triggers of change were already in place before the Corona Virus Pandemic.

Things To Think About

What stays? How will things change? I’ll give you some things to think about in New-Epoch-Dead-Ahead-Bob Davis Podcast 926.

Define Epoch

Especially relevant is the definition of the word epoch.

Long And Distinct Period

The word Epoch is a long and distinct period of history with a particular feature or characteristic.

The End Of A Long Arc

I personally think we’re at the end of a much longer arc.

Final Breaths Of Industrial Revolution

We’re living through the dying breaths of the industrial revolution which started in Britain at the end of the 1700’s, peaked in the 1950’s and 60’s.

Age Of Technology

Above all what’s coming is an age of technology which took its first breaths in the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s, and is now growing into its chaotic adolescence.

Losing Cultural Landmarks

When an epoch ends we have no cultural, economic or cultural landmarks.

Fasten Your Seatbelts

Finally my sense is that previous periods of change will pale in comparison to what we have just begun to go through, even though we’ve had plenty of warning.

Are We Ready For Prime Time? Not Even Close

I’ve often said we, our leaders and our systems are ill equipped to deal with this change.

When Did The New World Emerge?

In conclusion somewhere along the line the old world began to fade and the new emerged.

Good Things and Bad Things

We’ve seen a preview of the bad things and the good things to come. Let’s think about some of the good things and the future in New-Epoch-Dead-Ahead-Bob Davis Podcast 926.
