Values-Principles-All In The Family-Bob Davis Podcast 1149

Values and Principles are All In The Family

Firstly this is a personal and heartfelt podcast about Values and Principles and It’s All In The Family. Details in Values-Principles-All In The Family-Bob Davis Podcast 1149.

Suggested By A YouTube Viewer

Secondly the idea for this podcast came from a YouTube viewer.

Principles

To begin with this viewer suggested I talk about the principles of Mountain Men and how I have adopted them.

Of course I don’t follow someone else’s principles. I follow my own.

Source

But where do they come from.

Great Idea

So that’s a great idea for a podcast.

My Family

Accordingly I delve deeply into my own family for clues.

Personal

Therefore this became a rather personal and heartfelt podcast.

Four Generations

Because I went back four generations sharing what I know about my ancestors and what they were like.

That is to say what they might have believed in when it came to principles…

And how they lived their lives.

Where Did You Find These Stories

Because I’m going so far back you might wonder about the source.

With this is mind much of the stories come from my Grandfather.

All in all my mom as well.

Not only these…

But my own memories too.

Confuse Values and Principles

Above all I think people confuse values with principles.

Of course principles can come from values.

On the other hand I find principles more like hard and fast rules…

And values to be more flexible.

Hard To Adopt Principles

Given these points it’s difficult to see how this nomad could have adapted or adopted the principles of an historical figure.

Channeling

In spite of the feeling you might get from watching a movie about some figure or character that results in a feeling like you can almost channel the them…

Eventually you’re left with your own history and family story.

Everyone Has A Different Story

Lastly of course these are different for everyone.

Certainly some of us would rather not follow principles of certain family members.

Nevertheless we learn our family’s principles in early childhoods.

Accordingly that makes Values-Principles-All In The Family-Bob Davis Podcast 1149 a very personal and emotional podcast.

Follow Along

In conclusion it’s my hope the listener will follow along as I tell my story.

Think About Your Own Family and Principles

And accordingly remember your own childhood for ideas that apply.

Vanlife-Nomad-Backlash-Bob Davis Podcast 980

VanLife Nomad Backlash

Suddenly there’s a Vanlife Nomad Backlash. Certainly it’s fun to be free and living out on the road. What’s the problem? My reaction in Vanlife-Nomad-Backlash-Bob Davis Podcast 980.

Full Commitment

Firstly I’ve just recently made a full commitment to living on the road. Learn more about that here.

Extended Travel

Secondly extended travel has been a part of these podcasts since the beginning.

Social Media…Again

However recently some have taken issue with some over the top social media accounts.

Hollywood Has Discovered The Modern Nomad

To clarify reporters and Hollywood have suddenly discovered the nomad trend.

Blame It On Instagram

As a result it seems like detractors want to attack the whole lifestyle as ‘fake’ because of a few over the top Instagram accounts.

Not For Everyone

Meanwhile my experience has been it’s not a lifestyle for everyone.

Demanding And Tough

In fact the nomad lifestyle can be demanding and tough but be very rewarding at the same time.

Nomad Life Is Hardscrabble

In the same vein I haven’t met too many nomads driving around in vehicles costing at least six figures.

The Majesty Of A Walmart Parking Lot

For example a nomad might experience the majesty of a campground in a national forest one week. And the majesty of a Walmart or Truck Stop lot the next.

Adventure and Fun

To sum up it’s not always glamorous. But it’s always an adventure.

Back Out On The Back Road

Most importantly while I am stuck in a driveway in Virginia as we deal with a death in the family I can’t wait to get back on the back road.

Real Experience

In Vanlife-Nomad-Backlash-Bob Davis Podcast 980 it’s time to talk about the real experiences I have had as a newly minted ‘nomad’. And most importantly the depth of those experiences.

Family and Friends

Even more I realize many nomads are interrupting trips with long stays with family and friends. Why? Because we can.

So What?

On the other hand. Who can blame us?

Shore Power and A Hot Shower

After months of taking showers in truck stops and cooking over campfires, shore power and a hot shower at ‘home’ are pure luxury.

All About The Vibe

Most importantly is the reality of a true positive vibe that comes from travel in any form.

Doesn’t Matter What Rig You Have

Whether you’re rig is a broken down conversion or a Prevost, you’ve experienced that vibe.

No Commitments

Finally, think about travel without commitments. And going where you want. Just plain fun.

Many People Hitting The Road

In conclusion it’s true there are many people hitting the road for various reasons. As a result the nomad lifestyle and Vanlife have become a trend.

Tear Down Something Just Because Lots Of People Are Doing It

Why is it necessary to attack and tear something down just because a lot of people are doing it?

Podcast 564-Trying Not To Talk Politics

Podcast 564-Trying Not To Talk Politics. Live from the Desert in Scottsdale, Arizona in Podcast 564-Trying Not To Talk Politics. After two intense political podcasts, time for an easy talker to start your week out. The real challenge of what I call an ‘easy talker’ is not to talk about the easy stuff, which or me is usually political. This time though, I got into some great content about travel. I feel a motivation to travel and have an increasing desire to cut the tether completely and roll. For good. What would I need to make that happen? About midway through the trip across the Great Northwest, now into the Great Southwest, a sense of well being and relaxation has set in. It’s great to visit friends and family all over the country living their lives, caught up with various pursuit. No matter what you see in the media about the tone of the country life goes on. There’s something reassuring about that reality. Coming through Eastern Los Angeles, into the California desert was a great contrast to a week of rain and wind on the coast. Joshua Tree National Forest is highly recommended. The desert itself is hypnotizing and I have the feeling the most dramatic part of the trip is ahead as we head east on two lane roads through Arizona to New Mexico and then Texas. From the plains of North Dakota to the mountains of Montana, Utah and Washington State, on over to the pacific coastal highways, down through the redwoods to LA, and now headed east in the desert I want to live in so many places! I have always loved road trips and you would think I would get them out of my system, but after a few days in Arizona, I feel like I am starting out the trip all over again. The longer the trip, the better as far as I am concerned. Sponsored by Brush Studio in the West End, Saint Louis Park, Minnesota.
