Gratitude-Attitude-2022-Bob Davis Podcast 1035

Gratitude Attitude 2022

Above all we’re living through confusing times so having the Gratitude Attitude in 2022 is the right approach. I’ll tell you all about it in Gratitude-Attitude-2022-Bob Davis Podcast 1035.

Thanking Those Who Have Helped In 2021

Firstly I have a lot of people to thank for getting me and the podcast through a difficult year.

First Year As Nomad

Secondly if you want to hear more about my first year on the road permanently click here.

Second Year Of Nomad Experience Already Underway

But we’re now well into the second year of the nomad experience.

New Vibe

Already it’s a completely different vibe.

Constantly Moving In 2021

For example in my first year I traveled almost the entire year, stopping down only to deal with my mother’s death.

Slow Down

On the other hand I decided recently to slow down and get to know the places I’m interested in a little.

Discover Community

Consequently I have discovered the nomad community.

Quirky Quartzsite

In addition I’ve come to love the quirky place I have called home the last few weeks, Quartzsite Arizona.

And The People

Therefore as I look back over 2021 I see there are many people as well to be grateful for.

Clients and Contributors

Certainly clients and contributors to the podcasts.

Friends and Family

Likewise friends and family who have been very supportive throughout this process.

Some of 2021 Is A Blur

But some of 2021’s events are a blur to me.

Dreamy

To clarify there’s something dreamy about the nomad experience to begin with.

Process

Even more things like a death in the family take a little longer than a few days to process. Shockingly I don’t remember most of last winter due to dealing with my mom’s death.

Incredible Moments and Dreams

And yet there have been some incredible moments which also surprisingly feel like a dream.

Time Is Different For The Nomad

Finally my analysis is that the nomad does not experience time the same way as those back in the world.

Rome Bob, Rome

Certainly our concept of the New Year’s on January 1st goes back to Roman Times.

Lunar Calendars

Before that people operated on lunar calendars and told time with the stars.

Chinese New Year

As a result the so called Chinese New Year usually happens around February.

Farmers No More

Back in the day most of us were farmers.

Beginning Of Spring

Therefore the powers that be decided the New Year should also herald the beginning of the planting season.

Milestones

To sum up I am not one for marking these milestones.

Grateful

But I think it is good to recognize and be grateful for the good in life.

I am lucky to have so much of it mostly due to the people in my life.

Resolution Free New Year’s Podcast

I don’t do resolutions. First of all, these days everything has a ‘best practices‘ guide. Second I do two things on the New Year. I thank the people who meant the most, let the year go and move on. We’ll do that in Resolution-Free-New-Year-Gratitude-Bob Davis Podcast 889.

2019 Was A Slog

Above all each year seems to have a theme in my experience. Moreover 2019 was more of a slog than a dance. I think that’s true for most people.

Plenty Of Gratitude

A lot of friends and clients went above and beyond this year. Consequently I’ll use this podcast as an opportunity to show my gratitude to all of them.

Bob Davis Podcasts Hit Ten Year Mark

In addition this is my tenth year podcasting. I was an early adopter when it came to podcasting. I find it hard to believe I have managed almost one thousand podcasts, all with sponsors.

Creative Businesses

Certainly creative businesses are tough rows to hoe. These days running a creative enterprise can feel like walking around in the dark trying to find the light switch. Learn more in Resolution-Free-New-Year-Gratitude-Bob Davis Podcast 889.

Business Networking

In contrast to stumbling around in the dark, the new wrinkle for 2019 has been business networking. My business and my life has been greatly enriched by my business networking partners. They get a big thank you as do all my clients.

Contributors Take A Bow

Furthermore the people who have contributed to the Bob Davis Podcasts really deserve special mention. I often say that those contributions can often be the difference between not eating and eating, when I am on the road.

A Shift Away From Day To Day Politics

It’s most noteworthy that this year marks a decided shift away from day to day politics and this podcast.

I think all of us get tired of day to day arguments that lead nowhere.

Travel and Yoga

Above all travel and yoga have helped to make that transition.

Happy New Year!

Organic Work Builds Future-Business Networking-Bob Davis Podcast 778

These days you don’t often hear the question, what do you spend your time doing? For many it’s especially relevant due to disillusionment with politics. We’ll talk about it in Organic Work Builds Future-Business Networking-Bob Davis Podcast 778.

Organic Work

The concept of Organic Work is a thing. English philosopher Herbert Spencer coined the term in relation to the effort of Poles to build a nation back in the day.

Whipsaw Politics Is Exhausting

I like the term Organic Work. I think it applies to our time and to our whipsaw politics. Many of the people I know are sick of it all. Moreover they hail from all parts of the supposed ‘political spectrum‘.

All Is Not Well In American Business

I have come to the conclusion that all is not well in business in America. There are many things that don’t work as well as we think they do. In addition I believe among the armies of workers and managers at some of our big companies, there are many who don’t do much of anything.

In Our Blood?

We’re taught that capitalism and democracy are ‘in our blood’ as Americans. I submit that democracy and capitalism take work to create, and work to hang on to. I don’t think it’s anyone’s birthright. It isn’t ‘in our blood’.

Work versus Politics

If you think about it we’re building the future in the present. How are we doing? Finally over the years I have exhorted people to ‘get involved in politics if you don’t like it’. For some ‘politics’ has become their ‘work’. Have they made a difference? My questions about the effect of that involvement is most noteworthy in this podcast.

Business Networking

In conclusion my work is the business of podcasting. There are some lessons in this podcast about podcasting. More importantly in the last year I have learned a lot of lessons about life through business networking. Thanksgiving kicks off a season of family and reflection. It’s also a good time to reflect on our work, and the nature of work.
