Gratitude Attitude 2022

Above all we’re living through confusing times so having the Gratitude Attitude in 2022 is the right approach. I’ll tell you all about it in Gratitude-Attitude-2022-Bob Davis Podcast 1035.

Thanking Those Who Have Helped In 2021

Firstly I have a lot of people to thank for getting me and the podcast through a difficult year.

First Year As Nomad

Secondly if you want to hear more about my first year on the road permanently click here.

Second Year Of Nomad Experience Already Underway

But we’re now well into the second year of the nomad experience.

New Vibe

Already it’s a completely different vibe.

Constantly Moving In 2021

For example in my first year I traveled almost the entire year, stopping down only to deal with my mother’s death.

Slow Down

On the other hand I decided recently to slow down and get to know the places I’m interested in a little.

Discover Community

Consequently I have discovered the nomad community.

Quirky Quartzsite

In addition I’ve come to love the quirky place I have called home the last few weeks, Quartzsite Arizona.

And The People

Therefore as I look back over 2021 I see there are many people as well to be grateful for.

Clients and Contributors

Certainly clients and contributors to the podcasts.

Friends and Family

Likewise friends and family who have been very supportive throughout this process.

Some of 2021 Is A Blur

But some of 2021’s events are a blur to me.

Dreamy

To clarify there’s something dreamy about the nomad experience to begin with.

Process

Even more things like a death in the family take a little longer than a few days to process. Shockingly I don’t remember most of last winter due to dealing with my mom’s death.

Incredible Moments and Dreams

And yet there have been some incredible moments which also surprisingly feel like a dream.

Time Is Different For The Nomad

Finally my analysis is that the nomad does not experience time the same way as those back in the world.

Rome Bob, Rome

Certainly our concept of the New Year’s on January 1st goes back to Roman Times.

Lunar Calendars

Before that people operated on lunar calendars and told time with the stars.

Chinese New Year

As a result the so called Chinese New Year usually happens around February.

Farmers No More

Back in the day most of us were farmers.

Beginning Of Spring

Therefore the powers that be decided the New Year should also herald the beginning of the planting season.

Milestones

To sum up I am not one for marking these milestones.

Grateful

But I think it is good to recognize and be grateful for the good in life.

I am lucky to have so much of it mostly due to the people in my life.

Summer Sound. With the temperature several degrees below zero, and the snow blowing in the upper midwest, winter has set in. Just staying warm in a streak of sub zero weather can be a challenge physically. Eventually the cold starts to wear people’s spirits down. What can be more uplifting than summer? So, The Bob Davis Podcasts delivers a therapeutic dose of heat, humidity, sun, water, boats, fireworks, thunderstorms and a warm summer rain. Summer in the Upper Midwestern United States is the best in the world. What goes through the mind of a person in a deep freeze? Walking on grass barefoot? Weekends at the lake with friends and family? Boating? White clouds and blue sky? Walking through the forest, or searching through the brush for firewood? What about the sound of screen door? The wind through the trees. A bonfire? Of course the high point of summer is usually the Fourth of July, which means fireworks. Lots of fireworks. It always seems like the fireworks bring the the tornado sirens, thunder and the rain. Winter has its own kind of silent beauty, and Minnesotans know if you get out in it, you start to appreciate it. But, its strange how silent it can be in winter when you think about how loud the bugs actually are, all summer. Whether it is a walk through the short, velvet summer night, or sitting in a city park on a Saturday, the bugs are always present, as well as the birds. And a loon or two. And a barking dog. Sound from summer may depress you, or it may just get you through the tough parts. (Editor’s note: Obviously in putting this together, I listened to it a few times, and my mood is already improved!) A few years ago The Bob Davis Podcasts posted a summer sound podcast, using some older technology. This new summer sound podcast includes mostly new sounds as well as some of the old favorites from summer’s past, and uses newer technology so it sounds better. Get out a pair of headphones, find a chair, or lie down, turn up the volume and be enveloped by your old friend summer. Remember, it’s only five and a half months away! Bonfire at the Broadcast Bunker. On what may be one of the last great nights of the early fall/late summer season in the upper midwest, a back yard bonfire produces some reflection on this year’s election (not exactly inspiring), constant media predictions about its outcome (which are probably wrong) and the increasing desire to just vote and get it over with. A little bit of insight on where content for podcasts comes from. It would be easy to just pull some news stories and talk about them. The good stuff comes from what you pull from deep down. What does one do when there is no inspiration? Go to Yoga, have dinner with friends, light a late night bonfire by the bunker and turn on the microphones! A rant about restaurants that have TV monitors everywhere, the constant ‘push’ of the media filling ‘the news beast’ with updates, which really don’t mean anything, and why this podcaster will continue to scan, print and read to stay on top of developments. And, what about the 2014 election cycle. We have heard many predictions about its ‘probable’ outcome, from a ‘Republican Wave’, to the Democrats holding the Senate and gaining seats in the House. Are any of these predictions close to being correct? What will the ‘big story’ be on election night? What constitutes a ‘republican wave’, a loss or a win for democrats? How will a republican controlled Senate play in Season 6 and 7 of ‘Obama!, the series? How reliable are polls? Are they in any way useful in giving us any idea of what everyday Americans are thinking and feeling? Or, have people checked out of this one already? (Two misstatements in this podcast. First; Republicans don’t have to win 6 races, they have to pick up 6 seats to gain control of the Senate. Second, Republicans aren’t retaining control of the Senate. The Democratic Party currently holds a majority in the US Senate.) Sponsored by X Government Cars
