State Of Our End Times-Bob Davis Podcast 804

An embattled governor. Infighting in Washington. Raging arguments about identity. It sure looks to me like the wheels are coming off the bus these days. Learn more in State Of Our End Times-Bob Davis Podcast 804.

Politicians Off The Rail

As our so called public officials go off the rails our expectations that ‘government’ will solve all our problems increase.

Over Hype and Talked To Death

It’s especially relevant that the media breathlessly awaits a formality called The State Of The Union, like it’s the SuperBowl. Everything is Over hyped. Over analyzed. Talked to death. It’s surreal.

“Officials” Running Amok

Moreover as these politicians run amok they get more petty every day. As a result we’re not dealing with the most pressing issues of our time. A rising China. Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Data Privacy and The Internet. Causes, solutions and political effects of Economic Inequality. Existential threats from many different places.

What About Doing Some Work. Anyone?

In addition, what about trade wars, economic growth, debt, immigration and the growth of regional and major powers acting in our hemisphere. Anyone?

Daily Two Minutes Of Hate

Finally our daily two minutes hate leads our focus on smaller and smaller things. Leaders don’t lead. Everything becomes an illusion. Meanwhile somewhere someone or something is permanently damaged.

Emotional Scarring

In conclusion have we become so scarred from our anger and frustration we find it more difficult to act? Anger and Irritation turns to depression.

End Times Prophecy?

Are we living out a prophecy? What happens when there is a real crisis because of all this folly?

Noise and Unconscious Thought. What do you think about when you don’t know you’re thinking? Everyone has an unconscious stream of thought. It’s never ending. Most of the time we don’t even realize our brains are running, our minds are talking to us. Truth is, that unconscious stream of thoughts is often the well spring of good ideas and insight. It can be a gold mine of creativity, or a window into a person’s deepest motivations. Yet, everywhere we go these days is a video monitor, music playing, or a TV hooked up to one of the twenty four hour news channels. With all that ‘content’ being delivered everywhere, we don’t get a chance to experience silence long enough to actually experience our thoughts moment to moment. One could ask, ‘Do you ever listen to your thoughts’? Thing is, its near impossible for people to hear themselves think, because whether you’re putting gas in your car, going into a coffee store or restaurant, sitting at a bar, even doing your laundry at a laundromat, ‘content’ is always there. What they don’t tell you is, all that content is designed to use your emotion to persuade, or to hook into emotions to cause you to listen longer, watch longer and remember. With celebrities, politicians, even terrorists playing into the media for attention and persuasion, our thought streams are manipulated, and we don’t even know it. So for this Independence Day weekend in the United States, hopefully people can get a little slice of silence long enough to hear themselves think. What will you think about? Summer Sound. With the temperature several degrees below zero, and the snow blowing in the upper midwest, winter has set in. Just staying warm in a streak of sub zero weather can be a challenge physically. Eventually the cold starts to wear people’s spirits down. What can be more uplifting than summer? So, The Bob Davis Podcasts delivers a therapeutic dose of heat, humidity, sun, water, boats, fireworks, thunderstorms and a warm summer rain. Summer in the Upper Midwestern United States is the best in the world. What goes through the mind of a person in a deep freeze? Walking on grass barefoot? Weekends at the lake with friends and family? Boating? White clouds and blue sky? Walking through the forest, or searching through the brush for firewood? What about the sound of screen door? The wind through the trees. A bonfire? Of course the high point of summer is usually the Fourth of July, which means fireworks. Lots of fireworks. It always seems like the fireworks bring the the tornado sirens, thunder and the rain. Winter has its own kind of silent beauty, and Minnesotans know if you get out in it, you start to appreciate it. But, its strange how silent it can be in winter when you think about how loud the bugs actually are, all summer. Whether it is a walk through the short, velvet summer night, or sitting in a city park on a Saturday, the bugs are always present, as well as the birds. And a loon or two. And a barking dog. Sound from summer may depress you, or it may just get you through the tough parts. (Editor’s note: Obviously in putting this together, I listened to it a few times, and my mood is already improved!) A few years ago The Bob Davis Podcasts posted a summer sound podcast, using some older technology. This new summer sound podcast includes mostly new sounds as well as some of the old favorites from summer’s past, and uses newer technology so it sounds better. Get out a pair of headphones, find a chair, or lie down, turn up the volume and be enveloped by your old friend summer. Remember, it’s only five and a half months away!
