2022-Predictions-Bob Davis Podcast 1032

2022 Predictions

Firstly my 2022 predictions are detailed in Bob Davis Podcast 1032. They come out every year about this time. Do nomads pay attention? Learn more in 2022-Predictions-Bob Davis Podcast 1032.

More To Talk About

Secondly there are more things to talk about than predictions for the new year that seldom come true.

The Way It Is

And that’s the way our media is these days.

What It All Means

That is to say most of the time we’re deluged with reports about what something that has happened ‘means’.

Predictions

Even more almost every news story contains a prediction about what’s going to happen as the result of some event.

The Land Of The Nomad

However most of these predictions and even news reports don’t effect the Land Of The Nomad.

Different Frequency

Maybe it is for the reason that we’re on a different frequency, or rhythm.

Certainly that’s how I experience it.

Sun Moon and Stars

Moreover I tell time by the sun, moon and stars these days.

What Day Is It?

In addition many of us don’t even know what day it is. Or care.

Rooted In The Desert

Likewise I have rooted here in the desert for the short term. More details in 2022-Predictions-Bob Davis Podcast 1032.

Avoiding Higher Fuel Prices

My plan was to avoid the higher price of fuel and free camp.

Rolling and Rolling

During the past year I spent most of my time rolling across the country. I stopped only to visit friends and relatives.

New Experience

Therefore it is a new experience to be stopped.

And I am loving it!

Every Day Is New

In conclusion after one year of nomad travel I have learned it is above all a new experience every day.

Movement?

On the other hand these days the nomad experience is being referred to as a ‘movement’.

Anarchy

As a result the human desire to codify, communicate and organize threatens the beautiful anarchy here.

In the same vein so many people have YouTube channels sometimes I feel like I am at a broadcasting convention.

Not A Joiner

To sum up I’m not a joiner.

Fun

On the other hand I am having a lot of fun meeting and getting to know people.

Stay Wild Moon Child

Most importantly I hope the Nomad Thing stays wild.

Let It Be

Moreover I hope we can just let it be what it is.

Waffle-House-Carb-Fest-Bob Davis Podcast 969

Waffle House Carb Fest

Firstly I have not been eating a lot since I hit the road. Time to join me live at the table in Waffle-House-Carb-Fest-Bob Davis Podcast 969.

Starving Myself

Secondly I did not know I was starving myself until I got dizzy.

Eating On The Road

Consequently this is a great opportunity for a podcast about eating on the road.

Smothered In Butter and Syrup

Moreover Hell yes I will have the hash browns, sausage, and scrambled eggs! And yes I will have the toast with butter. Even more I’ll take that waffle as well, smothered in butter and syrup.

Too Much Protein?

Certainly I was surprised to realize I was eating only protein and not very much of it at that.

Smoothie In The Morning – Steak At Night

For example a protein smoothie in the morning, energy bar at noon, and steak for dinner in the Walmart parking lot.

Pulling The Belt In!

Above all not a lot of carbs. Yes I lost weight. Yes I had to buy a new belt. But that’s good, right?

Questions Questions

Meanwhile people keep asking me questions about life on the road.

Where do you stay? What about RV Parks?

Grand Canyon or Truck Stop?

I see a lot of nomads posting great pics of the Grand Canyon on Instagram and Facebook. Or great hikes in the Great Smoky Mountains.

On The Beach

I have a few pics of me on a beach. However I am more of a truck stop, Walmart parking lot guy.

Work. Travel. Sleep. Do It Again.

For example pull into the truck stop and go to work on a podcast, or blog. Post it. Sleep. Get up and do it all over again.

Boondock

In the same vein I’ve certainly stayed at National Parks. In this podcast I highlight a Boondock on an abandoned beach in a National Park.

Parking Lots

But I love me a Walmart parking lot. I can get ice and a laundry bag the next day.

One Skillet Meals

Even more I am not above a one skillet meal in a truck stop parking lot, with the cook stove on the back of Mobile Podcast Command. A lot of people show off their luxurious vegan meals. One skillet lends itself to bacon and eggs.

Hash Browns Save The Day

But every now and then you need hash browns, a waffle, and some toast.

And more coffee.

Not For Everyone

Finally, my approach to nomad life isn’t for everyone but I think it’s better than touring antique shops and backing the Prevost into a 77 dollar a night RV Park ‘campsite’.

Iowa-BugOut-Texas-Coast-Bliss-Bob Davis Podcast 904

Iowa BugOut Mega Road Trip

I told myself I would take a long road trip after Iowa Campaign Coverage. Certainly this is already a mega road trip. Learn why in Iowa-BugOut-Texas-Coast-Bliss-Bob Davis Podcast 904.

Objective Texas Gulf Coast

Moreover the target; The Texas Gulf Coast, sure looked like a hop skip and a jump from Iowa. On a map!

Oh yeah. Texas Is Really Big

Most noteworthy, the sheer size of Kansas, Oklahoma, and especially The Lone Star State.

Galveston! Oh Galveston!

First of all, Galveston Island. Especially the old sections of downtown Galveston you don’t usually hear about. Second, the famed ‘seawall’, bars and resorts and more.

Matagorda Beach Bliss

Above all I wanted warm humid weather. I wanted the beach. After two more days driving I found the Matagorda Peninsula. Why do I love Texas? For fifteen bucks you buy a permit, drive onto the beach, and start your fire.

Beach Town? We Have A Winner!

Even more, under a full moon, it was magical. Finally the other end of the Peninsula which I keep calling ‘North Padre Island’, includes the great beach town of Port Aransas and a state park near there where I chilled for a night.

A Road To Nowhere Was Best Of All

Above all South Padre Island. What I call the ‘north end’ of South Padre Island. A road that leads nowhere but between dunes and the shore. A full moon. Boondocking on the road. Alone. Another full moon. Bliss.

Finally, from South Padre Island onto Brownsville and the border. All to come.

Surf’s Up!

These days people who live in the cold northern reaches usually want to get on planes and head for the South Pacific or Virgin Islands. Hard to believe you can just drive to Texas, and right onto the beach.

If you’ve got a little time.
