These days there’s a lot of people considering the nomad life.

Certainly John is not alone in this interest.

So he rented a van, threw his gear in the back and headed out to the desert to join us for New Year’s.

Most importantly as I reevaluate what I am doing and make plans for the second year of the nomad experience I certainly have come to appreciate where I am.

That is to say I am partial to what some might call quirky and dusty desert towns like this one.

Consequently it ended up being a fun audio tour of what has become the nomad mecca.

Serving The Nomads

Further we talk about many of the small businesses here that do such a great job serving nomads of all stripes and walks of life.

For example the Coyote Market and Road Runner markets and my personal favorite the MAGA Campground.

Yes there is a MAGA campground.

Desert Rats

Even more John and I believe we have discovered a tremendous business opportunity in ridding campers of the scourge of desert rats!

But you’ll have to listen to the end for that.

To sum up I probably won’t be in this spot forever but I am having a blast for the time being.

Trying To Take My Time Traveling

Firstly I’ve been making quite an effort lately to take my time traveling.

The Plan

Secondly the plan was to spend several days in Nevada.

Not To Be

This was not to be.

Losing A Tire In The Vastness of Nevada

To clarify heading into a campground in the middle of nowhere in the Silver State I blew a tire.

Ely Nevada Is All Right

On the other hand the good news is four tires on the back of mobile podcast command so the remaining three tires carried me safely an additional 48 miles to Ely, Nevada.

Four Kick Ass New Tires And A Oil Change

Further I got myself four new all terrain tires and had a great time in a pretty cool small town in the mountains.

Attitude

As a result of all this I was reminded again how important attitude is.

Gratitude

Gratitude and staying in the flow allowed me to get through this mini crisis with ease.

Be Happy When You Have To Deal With Problems

Moreover I had a pretty good time dealing with some difficult issues.

Even more considering stories in the news about shortages getting four new tires and the filter for the oil change in a small town out west was no small feat.

Parallel To Real Life

Certainly there is a parallel to real life here.

Something’s Going To Give

Most importantly sooner or later something’s got to give.

Just Don’t Lose It

After that some people freak out and the experience ruins their day, trip, month or life.

Right?

Facts Of Nomad Life

However one thing about nomad life I have experienced.

Sooner or later you’re going to end up on the side of the road.

Life Too

So it is with normal life.

Shortages

For example you don’t have to go very deep into social media to learn there are earth shattering shortages coming.

Preppers Cleaning Up

Buy dried food and put it in the basement, right?

Media Horror Stories

Even more there are all kinds of potential horror stories about the pandemic, real estate prices and the stock market to boot.

Stay In The Flow

Finally the one thing I have learned is to stay in the attitude of gratitude.

And to stay in the high vibration travel vibe.

To sum up no one wants to spend a ton of money on new tires.

No one wants to deal with national and international economic issues, right?

On the other hand adults know these things happen.

Therefore it’s best to be prepared and roll with it.

On the other and I can’t help but feel the powers that be decided it was time for me to have some perfect time alone.

Locked In Fear And Uncertainty, and Me

However there’s something about being forced to sequester because an entire village is locked in fear and uncertainty.

Moreover once I got in touch with my feelings there was concern for my friends.

Some Kind Of Climax Is Coming

And a nagging feeling we’ve all started up the hill toward some kind of climax, with all this crazy stuff going on in the world.

No Politics or Judgements

Finally my listeners and subscribers know I don’t bother with politics anymore.

Too triggering and divisive.

Pie Charts and Preferences Be Damned

In addition I don’t understand why we have to be a nation of pie charts with forty percent thinking one thing and forty some percent thinking something else.

Back Roads Mean Peace and Solitude

In short, on the back roads there isn’t any of that. Just peace. And solitude.

Rural America I see You

Likewise I travel through communities and places no one ever sees, reports on or cares about.

Those places don’t feel like Snowmass right now.

Up Here With Coyotes and A Fire

And as a result I am up here with the coyotes howling and my thoughts.
