Nothing-Like-A-Campfire-Bob Davis Podcast 1017

Nothing Like A Campfire. Nothing!

Firstly one of the gems of wisdom from nomad life is There’s Nothing Like A Campfire. Every night. Join me around the campfire in Utah’s Canyon Lands in Nothing-Like-A-Campfire-Bob Davis Podcast 1017.

Secondly these days we’re all so stressed out it’s hard to find peace.

Two Things Bring Me Peace

Above all two things bring me peace. Driving and sitting in front of a campfire.

In Front Of A Fire

Therefore in this podcast I find myself in front of a fire. Again.

Perfect Time

Consequently it’s a perfect time for another podcast.

Very Important

In fact I can’t tell you how important having a campfire every night is.

While it seems silly to say such a thing in fact if I were a life coach I make that recommendation to all my clients.

I Wish Everyone Could Have Them

In the same vein campfires, travel, vistas and empty highways are so meditative I wish everyone could have them.

Every. Day.

Happiness Is…

Even more a long time ago someone said to me, “Happiness is a clean windshield and a full tank of gas”.

I couldn’t agree more.

Struggling In America

Meanwhile people continue to struggle the changes wrought by the pandemic.

In short I don’t think it is possible to over estimate the damage to the American Psyche in these times.

2020 Sucked and 2021 Might Be Worse

Certainly many of my friends and myself have struggled with grief or illness in 2020.

Life Has Not Been Easy

In short life has not been easy lately, my friends.

Talk It Out

There isn’t a better place to talk it out than a campfire. Especially in this setting. Join me in Nothing-Like-A-Campfire-Bob Davis Podcast 1017.

The West Is The Best

Finally you guys know I have been all over the country this year.

Moreover I’ve loved my trips out east, and across the Midwest.

But I can’t get enough of the West. Colorado. Arizona. Utah.

Navajo Nation

And especially the Navajo Nation with it’s straight highways that stretch on seemingly forever.

Anticline Overlook

In conclusion I found the site of this particular campfire just off Highway 191 by the Anticline Overlook not far from Canyon Lands National Park. The campsite is a BLM site. One six miles in. The other about 25 miles in.

Never Want To Forget It

I am making a note of it here because I never want to forget it!

Sharing Some Peace

To sum up I record these podcasts around the campfire from time to time in the hopes that some of the peace I have been able to gain as the result of this nomad adventure will rub off on the listener.

Two-Worlds-In-Snowmass-Bob Davis Podcast 1015

Two Worlds In Snowmass

Above all in Two Worlds In Snowmass you’ll get to spend some time with me in my weekend of solitude. Even more we’ll get to talk about the fear and uncertainty gripping American right now in Two-Worlds-In-Snowmass-Bob Davis Podcast 1015.

Contemplating a Tale Of Two Cities

Most importantly when I am on the road I do not feel the anxiety.

Feeling The Vibe

But when I stop to visit stationary friends I feel it.

Sharing Feelings Again

Even more I wouldn’t be worth my salt if I did not share how I feel in these podcasts.

Hanging Out By Myself

Consequently on a night we were supposed to spend hanging out and talking I am sitting on a ridge listening to the Coyotes talk.

Grateful

Firstly I am grateful for the opportunity to experience a truly beautiful place and a beautiful setting.

Wondering Why

Secondly when an opportunity like this drops in your lap you find yourself wondering why.

Because Why

And maybe it’s just because, right?

Perfect Time Alone

On the other and I can’t help but feel the powers that be decided it was time for me to have some perfect time alone.

No distractions.

Now What?

Meanwhile what to talk about?

Certainly I could do a travelogue podcast.

How I got here.

Where I’m going next.

Locked In Fear And Uncertainty, and Me

However there’s something about being forced to sequester because an entire village is locked in fear and uncertainty.

Moreover once I got in touch with my feelings there was concern for my friends.

Some Kind Of Climax Is Coming

And a nagging feeling we’ve all started up the hill toward some kind of climax, with all this crazy stuff going on in the world.

No Politics or Judgements

Finally my listeners and subscribers know I don’t bother with politics anymore.

Too triggering and divisive.

Pie Charts and Preferences Be Damned

In addition I don’t understand why we have to be a nation of pie charts with forty percent thinking one thing and forty some percent thinking something else.

Back Roads Mean Peace and Solitude

In short, on the back roads there isn’t any of that. Just peace. And solitude.

Rural America I see You

Likewise I travel through communities and places no one ever sees, reports on or cares about.

Those places don’t feel like Snowmass right now.

Up Here With Coyotes and A Fire

And as a result I am up here with the coyotes howling and my thoughts.

Perfect time for a podcast.

Nomads-Navigating-Change-Bob Davis Podcast 1007

Nomads Navigating Change

Above all when it comes to nomads navigating change freedom on the road comes with a cost. Find out more in Nomads-Navigating-Change-Bob Davis Podcast 1007.

Embracing Change

Firstly when I made the decision to downsize into a 2000 Ford E450 ambulance I was embracing change in a big way.

New Life

Secondly I found a new life on the road.

And I love it.

Letting Go Of Old Life Can Be Difficult

But these days I’m having to let go of parts of my old life.

Struggle With The Old and New

Even more most nomads I am sure struggle with the old and the new.

Business Networking

Case in point. My business networking group.

Video Conferencing Platforms

To clarify one of the great changes was the adoption of video conferencing software.

Mobile Tech Means Flexibility

Certainly platforms like Zoom provide digital nomads with tremendous cost effective flexibility.

For Some It’s A Struggle

However some companies and groups struggle to integrate video conferencing and remote work into their operations.

On The Beach

Therefore we nomads often find ourselves ‘on the beach’ when decisions are made to do away with remote work options and video conference platforms in the day to day.

Buh Bye

Consequently I will be saying goodbye to a business networking group I’ve come to depend on.

Easy Come Easy Go On The Road

In short some might say ‘easy come…easy go’.

Emotional Effects Of Decisions

The surprise for me, is the discovery of how emotionally I was effected by this development.

Never Question

Most importantly I have never questioned my decision to become a digital nomad and ply America’s back roads.

Never Look Back

Best decision I ever made.

Doesn’t Make It Easier

But that doesn’t make it any easier when you have to say goodbye to people you care about and have loved working with.

Nomads Deal With Change Issues

Finally I know all digital nomads deal with these kinds of issues.

Crossroads Opportunity

Even more we find crossroads like this a challenge and opportunity for growth.

Not Easy

Doesn’t make it any easier.

Communications and Connectivity

To sum up communications options and connectivity have never been better or easier.

My Mobile Internet Is Rad

To clarify I’m going to explain how my new mobile internet connection works flawlessly.

Better Mobile Tech Every Day

Therefore it’s too bad when groups and companies don’t realize mobile tech is getting better and better every day.
