Not Easy

Secondly nobody said it would be easy.

Certainly we nomads love to tell the story of how it all went down.

Review

Lately I have been reviewing my decision to get rid of everything and hit the road.

To clarify I do not regret that decision.

Anatomy Of A Decision

But I think the process of making the decision is interesting.

Even more I don’t think anyone is having an easy time with life these days.

Therefore the idea of discussing life changing decisions helps everyone.

And telling some nomad stories along the way.

Another Great Nomad Story

For example someone I met had rented a car, threw her stuff in it, and within three hours was on the road.

Forever.

She’s still driving the rented SUV.

“I’ll deal with that later”.

Action Is What’s Important

In the same vein Nomad-Decisions-Stories-Bob Davis Podcast 1046 is about the process of making a big decision and taking action on it.

Most importantly I don’t regret it.

No Best Practices

However I am not really sure if I used ‘best practices‘ in making that decision.

To sum up here, the main thing is it was a decision that was acted upon.

Pure Bliss

Certainly that led to pure bliss as I drove and drove across the country and back.

High Prices

On the other hand the current high price of fuel as me stopped down in the desert with a bunch of nomads in the same boat.

This too is a learning experience.

Finally where ever listeners and subscribers are..

No matter how hard it gets.

Choices and Decisions

We still have choices and we can still make decisions.

And take action.

In short every now and then I like to review and retell the story of how I got here.

In addition revisit what I consider success to be.

Nomad Definition of Wealth and Success

And what wealth looks like out here.

Sometimes that’s a hot shower and a good Internet connection.

But in much of the northern tier winter can still come back with a vengeance.

And these days I think most of need to talk less!

That is to say we’re under constant barrage from media.

Telling us what happened and what’s gonna happen.

Stress Cure

Therefore our stress levels are through the roof.

To sum up I felt better just producing this podcast. Playing with sound. Discovering sounds I didn’t even know I recorded during travel this year.

Power Of Sound

In conclusion sound is powerful. It can take us down.

Or lift us up.

Further we all need a good lift right about now.

Summer Is Coming

Of course the good news is we won’t have to wait long for the real summer to come.

Most importantly our nomad life is not like life back in the world.

That is to say these two worlds are different worlds.

Even more attempting to be a full time nomad and bring your old life along can make things more difficult.

Media Doesn’t Like #Vanlife Anymore

Finally when social media takes to something like #Vanlife an impression is created.

Social Media Is Fake

Certainly I think anyone who thinks social media is an authentic representation of any experience or person is naive.

What Is Nomad Life Like?

But if you are interested in nomad life full time in a van, converted school bus or even an RV the biggest topic of interest seems to be how it actually is!

Eating Out Of Can?

For example the media seems to be obsessed with eating out of a can and going to the bathroom in a bucket.

Dirty

Writers also are certainly focused on whether or not nomads are dirty.

And further whether their rigs are a jumble of dirty clothes and candy wrappers.

Freedom And Community Is Real

Meanwhile my experience has been one of freedom and community.

Nomad Life Is Pretty Great

Above all I can’t think of too many negatives associated with the nomad life world.

Hit The Road

Seems like everyone these days wants to hit the road.

And I can’t blame them.

Push Back

To sum up we’re all seeing the beginnings of a push back on the nomad trend.

On the other hand to know it is to love it.
