Dad-I-Bought-A-Buick-Bob Davis Podcast 923

I don’t think I’m a car guy but now I bought a Buick! Certainly I love cars. Even more I know who to talk to about cars. Recently I bought a car my dad would have loved. Time to talk about my 1996 Buick Roadmaster with my friend Ken Madden in Dad-I-Bought-A-Buick-Bob Davis Podcast 923.

Escape From The Crazy With An Old School Cruiser

These days any distraction from the crazy is a good thing, right? That’s why when I had the opportunity to buy one of those ‘woody wagon‘ mid nineties cars, I jumped.

Buick With 72,000 Original Miles…In Dad-I-Bought-A-Buick-Bob Davis Podcast 923

Even more this one sat in a pole barn for ten years and has only about seventy thousand original miles.

Collector’s Item? I’d Like To Think So!

In a most noteworthy outcome I learned this car is not only a collectors item. This Buick is in high demand.

V8 Sedans and Wagons

Certainly this is as good a time as any to introduce podcast subscribers and listeners to a guy who’s driven these old V8 sedans and wagons for a long time.

Owned, Driven and Wrecked

From mid seventies Plymouth’s to Oldsmobile’s, Lincoln’s, Chevy’s and Buick’s, Ken Madden has owned, driven and wrecked more than his share of these big old American Beasts.

Powerful Memories

Especially relevant? These cars evoke powerful emotional memories for both of us. Find out why in Dad-I-Bought-A-Buick-Bob Davis Podcast 923. We need that nostalgia right about now.

Our Dad’s Loved To Buy Used Cars

Our dads preferred buying used cars. My dad would negotiate for a used Pontiac, Chevy or Buick until he’d pushed the sales guy over the edge. Ken’s dad did the same thing with Plymouth’s and Mercury’s.

Ride to Learn

Moreover the Maddens went cross-country with a trailer on the back of a Mercury wagon with 4 teenagers and a baby. My family barnstormed all over the Midwest and the South in a ’63 Chevy, 64′ Buick Electra Convertible. Later we hauled ass in the best of them all, a ’68 Buick Electra Convertible.

Clyde Barrow and The Chicago Gangsters And Their V8’s

Finally we devote a little time in this podcast to talking about the history of these big cars going back to the 1930’s. We also talk about their demise because of fuel standards in the 2000’s.

Mobile Podcast Command

I still have Mobile Podcast Command, a 2000 Ford Super Duty Diesel Ambulance. For sure keeping my 2007 Crown Victoria Police Car a little longer.

Now I’m That Guy Down The Block

In conclusion every neighborhood has one. The guy on the block with a bunch of old cars. That’s certainly the Maddens. Apparently I am now that guy too.

Gratitude-Moving Up-2018-2019-Year End-Bob Davis Podcast 792

First of all Happy New Year to subscribers and listeners. It has become a tradition to do a podcast thanking everyone on New Year’s Eve. This is it! Check it out Gratitude-Moving Up-2018-2019-Year End-Bob Davis Podcast 792.

These days running a creative business isn’t easy. Creative Content businesses are the most difficult. When I tell people I am a podcaster, I imagine they think it’s a hobby. Many of us podcasters are blazing new trails in an entirely new business.

Big thanks to the General Manager of the Bob Davis Podcasts, my mom! Moreover I spend a fair amount of time thanking my business networking group in Gratitude-Moving Up-2018-2019-Year End-Bob Davis Podcast 792.

Most importantly, my business networking group will remain anonymous because it is a secret weapon! If you are in business you know until you start networking in an organized group you don’t realize there are other people experiencing the same challenges.

Find out some of the best advice I have heard in Gratitude-Moving Up-2018-2019-Year End-Bob Davis Podcast 792. Similarly clients have also given me great advice over the years. I thank them one by one in this Happy New Year Podcast.

I don’t know about you but it seems like 2018 has been a tough year. Yes, I have certainly had more difficult years. However the challenges of 2018 have been pretty steep. In contrast to those challenges, gratitude has been foremost in my mind every day.

Finally my greatest thanks and gratitude is to the people who have listened and subscribed to these podcasts. Above all the people who have been on board since the beginning. Hard to believe we will hit podcast one thousand early in 2019.

In conclusion let’s not forget Mobile Podcast Command. We will be back out on the road mobile podcasting early in the year and hopefully with more to come in 2019.

Here’s to you and moving on up in 2019!

Podcast 451

New Years Podcast 2015 and Heartfelt Thanks. Big thank you’s to listeners, clients and people who have helped me develop the Bob Davis Podcasts along the way. As I review all the podcasts for 2015 I am a little surprised at the breadth and depth of podcasting content. It’s also interesting to note the metamorphosis I’ve gone through, starting with the News Cleanse in the summer of 2014, through to content that reflects more of what is going on in my mind just beneath the surface. The need to go deeper, both personally and on the issues, rather than to chronicle the daily outrage machine has become a hallmark of these podcasts. Add to that the new mobility enabled with Mobile Podcast Command and you have the wrinkles added to these podcasts in 2015. Its hard to believe we started 2015 back in January with Podcast 284 talking about the ‘Polar Vortex’ and end 2015 with podcast 451, which focuses on the lessons of small business, content creation and entrepreneurship. First to thank the clients of The Bob Davis Podcasts, who have become more than clients, but advisors and mentors. Then to family and friends who have provided support in so many ways including my son – who recently appeared on the podcasts with his own content creation effort – and the General Manager of the Podcasts; My Mom. Finally to the subscribers, listeners and contributors to the Bob Davis Podcasts. As I review the podcasts I hope my goal of going deeper on issues with interviews, ‘study pieces’, coverage of the 2016 election cycle that takes you inside events, New Thinking, Walk and Talk Podcasts and talk about the issues that matter to you, the audio book and new radio show, pays off on the promise of what podcasting can be. Thanks each and every one of you for supporting this effort in 2015. Here’s to us doing great things in 2016. Sponsored by X Government Trucks and Ryan Plumbing and Heating of Saint Paul.
