Nomads-Getting-Restless-Bob Davis Podcast 1104

Nomads Getting Restless

Nomads getting restless. It’s said restlessness is caused by anxiety. When nomads are getting restless it’s wanderlust. Details in Nomads-Getting-Restless-Bob Davis Podcast 1104.

Pace of Travel

Certainly the pace of my travel has changed since my first year as a nomad.

Indeed this year I spent 8 months in the desert.

And due to family stuff I have now spent almost four months lakeside in Western Wisconsin.

Winter To Spring

On the positive side I have been able to experience winter to spring…

To Summer

And now Spring to summer…

Lake Side

Here on the shore.

Ready To Travel

But now I am getting restless.

That is to say I am ready to travel.

Change

Therefore it’s a great opportunity to talk about how my travel has changed over the years.

Back and Forth

For example in the first year of full time nomad life I barrelled back and forth across the country.

Border To Border

To say nothing of my trips to the Northern and Southern US Borders.

Experiential Desire

These days I am thinking I want my travel to be a little more experiential.

Bucket Lists

Comparatively many travelers hit all the national parks.

Or every major league baseball field.

People and Places Are My Jam

By comparison I’d like to find different places and people.

Colorado

For instance a town I visited in Colorado last summer with people trying to live a different way.

New England

At the present time though I’m planning a trip to New England from Western Wisconsin.

Travel Preparation

Leaving in about a month.

Still Some Time

All in all I still have some time left.

Travel

Finally I talk a lot about travel and the travel experience.

The Drive

And I love to drive.

To Learn

To explain a little further, one of the reasons I do this to learn more about America.

Avoid Judgements

By the same token one of the things I’ve learned is to avoid categorization and judgement when it comes to the places I’ve been and the people I’ve met.

Whole World

To sum up we nomads know there is a whole world out there.

Opposite Of Anxiety

Hence our restlessness is the opposite of anxiety.

We can’t wait to get out there.

As much as we love hanging out lakeside.

Gratitude-Moving Up-2018-2019-Year End-Bob Davis Podcast 792

First of all Happy New Year to subscribers and listeners. It has become a tradition to do a podcast thanking everyone on New Year’s Eve. This is it! Check it out Gratitude-Moving Up-2018-2019-Year End-Bob Davis Podcast 792.

These days running a creative business isn’t easy. Creative Content businesses are the most difficult. When I tell people I am a podcaster, I imagine they think it’s a hobby. Many of us podcasters are blazing new trails in an entirely new business.

Big thanks to the General Manager of the Bob Davis Podcasts, my mom! Moreover I spend a fair amount of time thanking my business networking group in Gratitude-Moving Up-2018-2019-Year End-Bob Davis Podcast 792.

Most importantly, my business networking group will remain anonymous because it is a secret weapon! If you are in business you know until you start networking in an organized group you don’t realize there are other people experiencing the same challenges.

Find out some of the best advice I have heard in Gratitude-Moving Up-2018-2019-Year End-Bob Davis Podcast 792. Similarly clients have also given me great advice over the years. I thank them one by one in this Happy New Year Podcast.

I don’t know about you but it seems like 2018 has been a tough year. Yes, I have certainly had more difficult years. However the challenges of 2018 have been pretty steep. In contrast to those challenges, gratitude has been foremost in my mind every day.

Finally my greatest thanks and gratitude is to the people who have listened and subscribed to these podcasts. Above all the people who have been on board since the beginning. Hard to believe we will hit podcast one thousand early in 2019.

In conclusion let’s not forget Mobile Podcast Command. We will be back out on the road mobile podcasting early in the year and hopefully with more to come in 2019.

Here’s to you and moving on up in 2019!

Podcast 490

Just Getting By. This was a big weekend. Doing business stuff for The Bob Davis Podcasts, which includes doing some final work on taxes – yes filing late for the first time in many years – and discovered many people who have donated to Mobile Podcast Command who need to be thanked for their generosity. Finally with a complete list, we work our way through the people who have been instrumental to the road trip podcasts both for the sake of travel – a new topic category with The Bob Davis Podcasts – and for covering the 2016 primary campaigns earlier this winter/spring. Another subscriber asked me to talk about the economy, and it’s been awhile, so this podcasts focuses on the Just Getting By economy. We start off with how to inform yourself about economic news, then move onto a discussion of the problem areas with the US and world economy. A slow down in demand and low inflation has hit emerging economies like China, Brazil, Russia as well as basket cases like Venezuela. Meanwhile central banks keep pumping cash into these economies, encouraging more government and corporate debt. In the US, there have been as many corporate defaults this year as 2009. Not a good sign despite economic growth and improved employment numbers. Yes we’re out of recession, no it doesn’t feel like dynamic growth because it isn’t. We’re Just Getting By. Don’t expect the next president, or congress to solve any problems because no one is discussing how to spur the growth of new technologies that will form the building blocks of a new economy and a new society. Our political leaders are still talking like it’s 1999, or maybe even 1909. Employment may be higher, but the quality of those jobs isn’t as good as it was before the 2008 recession, many of them are part time, and don’t cover benefits. Many people are freelancing, which many writers don’t seem to think is a great idea, although some people in the so called 1099 economy love the freedom, and some make pretty good money if they hustle. While companies are hiring they are being more cautious. Stories about the ‘hell’ of the modern workplace proliferate these days, although working is better than not working. Meanwhile autonomous machines, self driving cars, single seat drone aircraft you fly by wire, dirigibles, supersonic airliners, robots who can operate like human beings, artificial intelligence, new advances in communications, anti aging, advances in medicine, compounds used in manufacturing and construction, changes in money, and many more new ideas are coming down the pike at a frightening or exhilarating speed, depending on what your fear level is. The new economy is coming, whether we want it or not, and if the government gets out of the way, it might just be pretty great. Let’s work through it and figure out what to do, because clearly this crop of 1900’s trogolodites doesn’t know what to do.
