Breaking News Fatigue-Podcast Consciousness-Free Wheeling Talk-Podcast 709

These days we’re in a news rich environment. Lots of breaking news. Content creators try to connect the dots and make predictions. A podcaster talks about this pressure and how to deal with it in Breaking News Fatigue-Podcast Consciousness-Free Wheeling Talk-Podcast 709.

A Breaking News Weekend

This was a weekend of breaking news from Washington, protests, and explosive expose’s from a porn star about the president. Suddenly the airwaves and Internet are on fire.

As a podcaster with over seven hundred podcasts so far, I’ve learned no matter what has happened, I’ve probably done a podcast about it.

Free Wheeling Talk

Many of the podcasts I’ve done have a lot of preparation and research behind them. But sometimes I like to just turn on the microphones and do some free wheeling talk about what’s going on, and the consciousness of The Bob Davis Podcasts. That is just what the doctor ordered in Breaking News Fatigue-Podcast Consciousness-Free Wheeling Talk-Podcast 709.

The Bob Davis Podcasts Are A Resource

Moreover many of the issues we deal with in media these days come up again and again. No matter what those issues are, I have probably done more than one podcast about it. As a result it is time to talk about The Bob Davis Podcasts web site as a resource. If you want to ‘connect the dots’ podcasts done on these issues over the last nine years are a great resource.

Breaking News and Social Media Fatigue

In conclusion I find many people greatly fatigued by the constant political fighting and breathless breaking news coverage lately. Breaking News fatigue, Opinion Fatigue and Social Media Fatigue is a big deal these days.

Podcasters As Content Creators

How do podcasters create content that is engaging and entertaining in this environment? How do you advance the story? Every now and then you have to throw the notes away and just talk. That’s what I do in Breaking News Fatigue-Podcast Consciousness-Free Wheeling Talk-Podcast 709.

Podcast 613-Rising Tide? Trump’s Minimal Economic Impact

We’re Growing Again Right?

Trump ballyhoos new numbers. Seems like the new president is turning our economy around. A rising tide? What does an improving economy look like? Are there actions that cause real economic growth? Do you think new leaders are taking those actions?

Republicans Know How To Fix The Economy Right?

Deregulation. Tax cuts and reform. Infrastructure construction. Campaign Pledges were made. Pledges spurred optimism. Furthermore promises can be kept because republicans are in charge and republicans understand business. So the story goes.

Trump Has Already Started Making Things Better Right?

Trump claims credit for the new numbers. Can a new president have an economic impact after less than 90 days?

What’s Better?

How do you define economic success for the United States? Better job? More money? Saving a job? Getting a loan for business or housing? Seeing your 401K account fatten because of stock performance? Cheaper gas? GDP? Productivity? Improved employment? Interest Rates? Jobs coming back to America? Consequently how do you know when it’s working?

What Has Been Done?

Because of the new numbers coverage exploded. However, what have Trump and the new Congress actually done? Executive orders on regulation. Business and the environment. Pipelines. Budget cuts. Trade and the budget. In conclusion, is there an impact on the economy overall?

How Do You Know?

Who are the people that put these reports together and what methodology do they use? How do economists and traders judge these numbers? Seems like people accept them at face value. Should you place confidence in these reports?

What Actually Works?

Are there specific actions that can be taken to grow our economy? If business and economic philosophy is important, what do our leaders believe? Do you think there is a standard approach to economics and government in Washington? More importantly, we know ideas counter to the current approach exist. Will the new congress and president embrace them?

Back To The ’50’s

Let’s face it. We have a sclerotic, 1950’s style government. People are developing and using new technological tools developed for the 21st Century. Moving fast toward building a new world. Block Chain Currencies. Improved Communication tools. Robotic manufacturing. Higher productivity. Government might be out of step with those developments.

Podcast 592-New Era

Bob Davis Podcasts Radio Show 62

While the media ‘predicts’ the future of the new Donald Trump Era, I’ve been under a self imposed news blackout. I prefer to see what happens with the Trump before I comment. It seems to me an unpredictable personality as President is going to make it very difficult for pundits to tell you what kind of presidency it will be. Why not just wait and see? I think there are bigger trends at work.

Big Changes

We’re living through the dawn of a new industrial revolution. It seems to me, as everything around us changes government is changing too slowly. Technology is changing work and trade despite all this talk of returning America to 1950’s greatness. The biggest transportation company in the world owns no cars. The biggest hospitality company in the world owns no hotels. One of the biggest retailers in the world doesn’t own that many retail stores. It’s often difficult to determine the difference between a national export or an import.

Most of the jobs lost in manufacturing in the United States have been due to IT not outsourcing. Then there are the markets. One-size-fits-all mass markets are transitioning to mass specialization markets. Many new manufacturing plants will be automated and located close to markets they serve. It’s sad to me that in the midst of all this technology development we have a government designed for the 1950’s. Maybe this is something that will change.

In Podcast 592-New Era Day One-Bob Davis Podcasts Radio Show 62 I discuss what we need in the future. It seems to me this is more important than what someone said about Trump’s big speech. As a so called conservative takes power, I want to know whether Big Government Republicans will reduce the pernicious power of government. It seems to me we should be asking ourselves what will be required of us. What do we know? How do we know what we know? How did we learn what we know? Why do we fear competition? Why do some of us we fear change?
