Doing Podcast Promoting Your Business-Good Idea?-Bob Davis Podcast 782

These days when you tell people you are a podcaster you always get ‘the question’. How do I do my own podcast to promote my business? Is this a good idea? The answer may surprise you. Learn more in Doing Podcast Promoting Your Business-Good Idea?-Bob Davis Podcast 782.

One Podcast Is As Good As Any Other

Furthermore many believe one podcast is as good as any other. Hence, why not do a podcast promoting your own business? Low and behold companies have popped up to ‘teach businesses’ how to do their own podcast.

I’m The Life Of The Party I Can Do This

Consequently a business owner who is the life of the party believes they can do a podcast too. Throw up a video on social media. This gets the word out for free and work wonders for their business.

Seems like a good idea! Certainly there are small business owners who are stand out communicators. Genuine people who have something serious to communicate about their business. Why shouldn’t a person like this do a podcast?

Small Business Advertising Budgets

In Doing Podcast Promoting Your Business-Good Idea?-Bob Davis Podcast 782 I focus on small businesses. Smaller businesses have tight advertising budgets and are always looking for an edge that doesn’t cost them anything.

Podcasting Is Highly Competitive

First of all with over five hundred thousand podcasts already on the Internet, podcasting is one of the most competitive advertising mediums in history. A medium for businesses to buy time just like they do on other media. Podcasts, especially regionally based podcasts, are competitively priced and effective advertising mediums.

You Can Do A Lot Of Harm To Your Business

Finally it is possible for a business can do great harm to itself if its communications aren’t professionally created. Especially when it comes to strategy. I give several examples in this podcast of what happens when a business owner becomes a communicator, and the business suffers.

Bad Shots and Shaky Video

In conclusion, from the CEO who handles the advertising to the small business person who posts poorly sized shots or shaky video on social media it’s probably a better idea to get professional advice and execution for your advertising effort.

Goodbye To 2017-Hello 2018-Happy New Year-Podcast 690

As the year closes time for a look back at 2017. Some of the experiences, helpers, clients and some big thank you’s. Any look back also includes a look ahead. In Goodbye To 2017-Hello 2018-Happy New Year-Podcast 690.

Fast Changing World

The theme of 2017 for almost everyone seems to be fear and anxiety in a fast changing world. Boy is it changing fast. Biggest change in 2017? Our politics. Still, there was a lot of great travel and fun this year.

These days things change so fast. One story that is still with us? The so called Russian Hack and the Russian Collusion story. The media is still trying to predict the future, getting stories wrong or advocating for a point of view. It’s a theme of the podcasts this year and we’ll talk about it in Goodbye To 2017-Hello 2018-Happy New Year-Podcast 690.

The Truth Is On The Back Roads

With all the talk about political civil war and surreal protests this year, travel on the backroads of this country convinces me the real America is significantly different from the America we hear about in the media in general. There were some great trips this year. Sturgis, the Air Show, a crumbling home town and more. Too bad Burning Man didn’t happen for the Bob Davis Podcasts in 2017. Maybe next year. In Goodbye To 2017-Hello 2018-Happy New Year-Podcast 690.

We Don’t Need No Stinking Principles

Political fighting was all the rage this year. Especially relevant is the fact that most of the partisan bickering was free of principles. This was a year in which both mainline political parties seemed to have forgotten what they stand for. Good thing I can talk about small business and the role of the podcaster helping people in business.

Opening Up

This was also a year in which I started a podcast specific to Yoga, which has really enhanced my life in these crazy times. I’ve experienced some big personal losses this year. Between yoga and travel podcasts, it became clear to me there is a whole world out there which doesn’t turn on political develops in Washington. Thank God. In Goodbye To 2017-Hello 2018-Happy New Year-Podcast 690.

Thanks To Everyone

Whether its analysis, business, yoga, travel, storm chasing and the eclipse it’s been a big year for me. There have also been a number of great local stories to cover as well. Thanks to the clients, contributors, subscribers and listeners who make podcasting a great medium and help The Bob Davis Podcasts everyday.

Happy New Year!

How Owning Small Business Changes Views About Money-Podcast 682

Life is a journey and a process. These days there’s so much noise we forget how our experiences change our attitudes. Time for an easy talker about the challenges, changes and benefits of being an entrepreneur in How Owning Small Business Changes Views About Money-Podcast 682.

Spitting Into The Wind

One of the major news stories in the present time frame is the question of the so called tax reform bill. A podcaster wonders whether to do another podcast celebrating or condemning this legislation and concludes a discussion along these lines won’t advance the story. Especially relevant are the experiences of being in business and how it has changed how I think about money, labor and providing a service.

Owning A Business Changes A Life

In How Owning Small Business Changes Views About Money-Podcast 682 one of the key turning points in the life of a small business person is the transition from an employee mindset and the mindset of an entrepreneur. Moreover there’s also a change in how the business person thinks about service to clients and in the case of communications, the audience.

Freedom Isn’t Free

Most Americans these days grew up in middle class families. We were taught to work hard, tell the truth and to follow the rules. For the most part these are bedrock lessons we all need to learn. However one of the first lessons one learns in business is the heady freedom of being your own master. This turns out to be a great challenge. We’ll talk about it in How Owning Small Business Changes Views About Money-Podcast 682.

Take The Risk

Considering making the leap from employee to business owner? How Owning Small Business Changes Views About Money-Podcast 682 might give you some thought starters and things to consider. I am not one to read primers on business or ‘how to’s’. In some ways I wish I was, but then the journey of learning to sail on rough seas wouldn’t be part of the experience. For me, that’s what it’s all about.
